If we amar (said), ‘We will bawaa (bring) into the iyar (city),’ then the raib (famine) is in the iyar (city), and we shall mawath (death) there. If we yashab (inhabit/dwell) still here, we also mawath (death). Now therefore yalak (come), and napal (fall / be cast down) us surrender to the machanah (army) of the Aram (Syrians). If they chayah (save) us alive, we will chayah (live); and if they mawath (death) us, we will only mawath (death).”
