Genesis 13 — Novel English Bible

Abaram (Abaram) ilah (go up / offer) up out of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt): he, his ayashah (woman / wife), all that he had, and Lawat (Lot) with him, into the nagab (south).

Abaram (Abaram) was very kabad (rich) in livestock, in kasap (silver), and in zahab (gold).

He yalak (went) on his masai (journeys) from the nagab (south) even to Bayath-Al (Bethel), to the maqawam (place) where his ahal (tent) hayah (came to pass) been at the thachalah (beginning), between Bayath-Al (Bethel) and Iy (Ai),

To the maqawam (place) of the mazabach (altar), which he ishah (make) made there at the raashawan (first). There Abaram (Abram) qaraa (called) on the sham (name) of Yahawah ().

Lawat (Lot) also, who halak (move) with Abaram (Abaram), had tzaan (flocks), and baqar (morning), and ahalayam (tents).

The aratz (Earth/land) was not nashaa (lift) to bear them, that they might live yachad (together): for their rakawash (wealth / property / goods / possessions) was rab (great), so that they yakal (could) not live yachad (together).

There was a rayab (strife) between the herdsmen of Abaram (Abaram) livestock and the herdsmen of Lawat (Lot's) livestock: and the Kanainay (Canaanite) and the Parazay (Perizzite) lived in the aratz (Earth/land) at that time.

Abaram (Abaram) amar (said) to Lawat (Lot), “Please, let there be no marayabah (strife) between me and you, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are relatives.

Isn't the whole aratz (Earth/land) panayam (face) you? Please parad (separate) yourself from me. If you go to the left shamaawal (left hand), then I will yaman (go) to the right. Or if you go to the right yamayan (right hand), then I will shamaal (go) to the left.”

Lawat (Lot) nashaa (lift) up his iyan (eye), and raah (see) all the kakar (plain) of the Yaradan (Jordan), that it was well-watered everywhere, panayam (face) Yahawah () shachath (destroyed) Sadam (Sodom) and Imarah (Gomorrah), like the gan (garden) of Yahawah (), like the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt), as you bawaa (come) to Tzair (Zoar).

So Lawat (Lot) bachar (chose) the kakar (plain) of the Yaradan (Jordan) for himself. Lawat (Lot) traveled qadam (east), and they parad (separated) themselves the ayash (man / husband) from the other.

Abaram (Abaram) lived in the aratz (Earth/land) of Kanain (Canaan), and Lawat (Lot) lived in the iray (cities) of the kakar (plain), and moved his ahal (tent) as far as Sadam (Sodom).

Now the anashay (men) of Sadam (Sodom) were maad (exceedingly) rai (wicked) and chataayam (sinners) against Yahawah ().

Yahawah () amar (spoke) to Abaram (Abram), achar (other) Lawat (Lot) was parad (separated) from him, “Now, nashaa (lift) up your iyan (eye), and raah (see) from the maqawam (place) where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward,

For all the aratz (Earth/land) which you raah (see / saw), I will nathan (give) to you, and to your zarai (offspring) iwalam (eternity).

I will shawam (place / establish / appoint) your zarai (offspring) as the ipar (dust) of the aratz (Earth/land), so that if a ayash (man / husband) yakal (can) manah (number) the ipar (dust) of the aratz (Earth/land), then your zarai (seed) may also be manah (numbered).

Qawam (rise up), halak (move) through the aratz (Earth/land) in its arak (length) and in its rachab (breadth); for I will nathan (give) it to you.”

Abaram (Abram) moved his ahal (tent), and bawaa (come) and lived by the oaks of Mamaraa (Mamre), which are in Chabarawan (Hebron), and banah (build) an mazabach (altar) there to Yahawah ().
