1 Then Yaiqab (Jacob - Patriarch) nashaa (lift) on his ragal (feet / foot), and yalak (came) to the aratz (Earth/land) of the banay (my son) of the qadam (east).
2 He raah (see / saw), and behold, a baar (well) in the shadah (field), and, behold, shalawash (three) idaray (flocks) of tzaan (sheep) lying there by it. For out of that baar (well) they shaqah (watered) the idaray (flocks). The aban (stone) on the baar (well's) pah (mouth) was large.
3 There all the idarayam (flocks) were asap (gathered). They galal (rolled) the aban (stone) from the baar (well's) pah (mouth), and shaqah (watered) the tzaan (sheep), and shawab (turn) the aban (stone) again on the baar (well's) pah (mouth) in its maqawam (place).
4 Yaiqab (Jacob - Patriarch) amar (said) to them, “My relatives, ayan (NO ONE) are you from?” They amar (said), “We are from Charan (Haran).”
5 He amar (said) to them, “Do you yadai (know) Laban (Laban), the ban (son) of Nachawar (Nahor)?” They amar (said), “We yadai (know) him.”
6 He amar (said) to them, “Is it shalawam (peace / safety) with him?” They amar (said), “It is shalawam (peace / safety). See, Rachal (Rachel), his banath (daughter), is bawaa (bring) with the tzaan (sheep).”
7 He amar (said), “han (behold), it is still the middle of the yawam (day), not ith (time) to gather the livestock asap (together). Shaqah (water) the tzaan (sheep), and yalak (go) and raih (feed) them.”
8 They amar (said), “We can't, until all the idarayam (flocks) are asap (gathered) together, and they galal (roll) the aban (stone) from the baar (well's) pah (mouth). Then we shaqah (water) the tzaan (sheep).”
9 Iwad (more/again) he was yet dabar (word / matter) with them, Rachal (Rachel) bawaa (bring) with her ab (father) tzaan (sheep), for she raih (kept) them.
10 It happened, when Yaiqab (Jacob - Patriarch) raah (see / saw) Rachal (Rachel) the banath (daughter) of Laban (Laban), his am (mother) ach (brother/kinsman), and the tzaan (sheep) of Laban (Laban), his am (mother) ach (brother/kinsman), that Yaiqab (Jacob - Patriarch) nagash (went) near, and galal (rolled) the aban (stone) from the baar (well's) pah (mouth), and shaqah (watered) the tzaan (flock) of Laban (Laban) his am (mother) ach (brother/kinsman).
11 Yaiqab (Jacob - Patriarch) nashaq (kissed) Rachal (Rachel), and nashaa (lift) up his qawal (sound / voice), and bakah (wept).
12 Yaiqab (Jacob - Patriarch) nagad (told) Rachal (Rachel) that he was her ab (father) ach (brother/kinsman), and that he was Rabaqah (Rebekah's) ban (son). She rawatz (ran) and nagad (told) her ab (father).
13 It happened, when Laban (Laban) shamai (hearken / hear) the news of Yaiqab (Jacob), his achawath (sister's) ban (son), that he rawatz (ran) to qaraah (meet) Yaiqab (Jacob), and chabaq (embraced) him, and nashaq (kissed) him, and bawaa (come) him to his bayath (house). Yaiqab (Jacob) sapar (book) Laban (Laban) all these things.
14 Laban (Laban) amar (said) to him, “ak (surely) you are my itzam (bone) and my bashar (flesh).” He lived with him for a chadash (month).
15 Laban (Laban) amar (said) to Yaiqab (Jacob - Patriarch), “Because you are my ach (brother/kinsman), should you therefore ibad (servant) me for chanam (nothing)? Nagad (tell) me, what will your mashakarath (wages) be?”
16 Laban (Laban) had shanayam (two) banawath (daughters). The sham (name) of the gadawal (very great/important/mighty) was Laah (Leah), and the sham (name) of the younger was Rachal (Rachel).
17 Laah (Leah's) iyanay (eyes) were rak (weak), but Rachal (Rachel) was yapah (beautiful) in form and attractive.
18 Yaiqab (Jacob - Patriarch) ahab (love) Rachal (Rachel). He amar (said), “I will ibad (servant) you shabai (seven) shanayam (two) for Rachal (Rachel), your younger banath (daughter).”
19 Laban (Laban) amar (said), “It is tawab (good / proper function) that I nathan (give) her to you, than that I should nathan (give) her to achar (other) ayash (man / husband). Stay with me.”
20 Yaiqab (Jacob - Patriarch) ibad (servant) shabai (seven) shanayam (two) for Rachal (Rachel). They seemed to him but a achad (one) yamayam (days), for the ahab (love) he had for her.
21 Yaiqab (Jacob - Patriarch) amar (said) to Laban (Laban), “yahab (give) me my ayashah (woman / wife), for my yawam (day) are malaa (fulfilled), that I may bawaa (bring) in to her.”
22 Laban (Laban) asap (gathered) together all the anashay (men) of the maqawam (place), and ishah (make) a mashathah (feast).
23 It happened in the irab (evening), that he laqach (take / seize) Laah (Leah) his banath (daughter), and bawaa (bring) her to him. He bawaa (bring) in to her.
24 Laban (Laban) nathan (give) Zalapah (Zilpah) his handmaid to his banath (daughter) Laah (Leah) for a handmaid.
25 It happened in the baqar (morning) that, behold, it was Laah (Leah). He amar (said) to Laban (Laban), “What is this you ishah (make) done to me? Didn't I ibad (servant) with you for Rachal (Rachel)? Why then have you ramah (deceived) me?”
26 Laban (Laban) amar (said), “It is not ishah (make) so in our maqawam (place), to nathan (give) the younger panayam (face) the bakayarah (firstborn).
27 Fulfill the shabawai (week) of zaath (this) one, and we will nathan (give) you the other also for the ibadah (service) which you will ibad (servant) with me yet shabai (seven) other shanayam (two).”
28 Yaiqab (Jacob - Patriarch) ishah (make) so, and malaa (fulfilled) her shabawai (week). He nathan (give) him Rachal (Rachel) his banath (daughter) as ayashah (woman / wife).
29 Laban (Laban) nathan (give) to Rachal (Rachel) his banath (daughter) Balahah (Bilhah), his handmaid, to be her handmaid.
30 He bawaa (bring) in also to Rachal (Rachel), and he ahab (love) also Rachal (Rachel) more than Laah (Leah), and ibad (servant) with him yet shabai (seven) other shanayam (two).
31 Yahawah () raah (see) that Laah (Leah) was shanaa (hate), and he pathach (opened) her racham (womb), but Rachal (Rachel) was iqar (barren).
32 Laah (Leah) harah (conceived), and yalad (birth / begot) a ban (son), and she sham (name) him Raawaban (Reuben). For she amar (spoke), “kay (surely) Yahawah () raah (see) looked at my inay (affliction). For now my ayash (man / husband) will ahab (love) me.”
33 She harah (conceived) again, and yalad (birth / begot) a ban (son), and amar (spoke), “Because Yahawah () has shamai (hearken / hear) that I am shanaa (hate), he nathan (give) therefore given me this son also.” She sham (name) him Shamaiwan (Simeon).
34 She harah (conceived) again, and yalad (birth / begot) a ban (son). Amar (said), “paim (now) this time will my ayash (man / husband) be lawah (joined) to me, because I have yalad (birth / begot) him shalawash (three) banayam (sons).” Therefore was his sham (name) qaraa (called) Laway (Levi).
35 She harah (conceived) again, and yalad (birth / begot) a ban (son). She amar (spoke), “paim (this) time will I yadah (praise) Yahawah ().” Therefore she sham (name) him Yahawadah (Judah). Then she stopped yalad (birth / begot).
