1 Yawasap (Joseph) was yarad (brought) down to Matzarayam (Egypt). Pawatayapar (Potiphar), an sarayas (officer) of Paraih (Pharaoh's), the shar (prince / ruler) of the tabach (guard), an Matzaray (Egyptian), bought him from the yad (hand) of the Yashamaialay (Ishmaelites) that had yarad (brought) him down there.
2 Yahawah () was with Yawasap (Joseph), and he was a prosperous ayash (man / husband). He was in the bayath (house) of his adawan (master / lord) the Matzaray (Egyptian).
3 His adawan (master / lord) raah (see) that Yahawah () was with him, and that Yahawah () ishah (make) all that he did tzalach (prosper) in his yad (hand).
4 Yawasap (Joseph) matzaa (found) favor in his iyan (eye). He sharath (ministered) to him, and he paqad (visit) him overseer over his bayath (house), and all that he yash (had) he nathan (give) into his yad (hand).
5 It happened from the az (time) that he paqad (visit) him overseer in his bayath (house), and over all that he yash (had), that Yahawah () barak (blessed) the Matzaray (Egyptian's) bayath (house) for Yawasap (Joseph's) sake; and the barakah (blessing) of Yahawah () yash (was) on all that he had, in the bayath (house) and in the shadah (field).
6 He izab (left) all that he had in Yawasap (Joseph's) yad (hand). He didn't concern himself with anything, am (mother) for the lacham (food) which he akal (eat). Yawasap (Joseph) was well-built and handsome.
7 It happened achar (other) these things, that his adawan (master / lord) ayashah (woman / wife) nashaa (lift) her iyan (eye) on Yawasap (Joseph); and she amar (said), “shakab (lie) with me.”
8 But he maan (refused), and amar (said) to his adawan (master / lord) ayashah (woman / wife), “Behold, my adawan (master / lord) doesn't yadai (know) what is with me in the bayath (house), and he nathan (give) put all that he yash (has) into my yad (hand).
9 He isn't greater in this bayath (house) than I, laa (NOT) has he chashak (darkness) back anything from me but you, ashar (who/that) you are his ayashah (woman / wife). How then can I ishah (make) this gadawal (very great/important/mighty) rai (wickedness), and chataa (sin) against Alahayam ()?”
10 As she dabar (word / matter) to Yawasap (Joseph) yawam (day) by yawam (day), he didn't listen to her, to shakab (lie) by her, or to be with her.
11 About this yawam (day), he bawaa (bring) into the bayath (house) to ishah (make) his malaakah (work), and there were ayash (man / husband) of the men of the bayath (house) inside.
12 She thapash (caught) him by his bagad (garment), amar (said), “shakab (lie) with me!” He izab (left) his bagad (garment) in her yad (hand), and ran outside.
13 When she raah (see / saw) that he had izab (left) his bagad (garment) in her yad (hand), and had run outside,
14 She qaraa (called) to the anashay (men) of her bayath (house), and amar (spoke) to them, amar (spoke), “raah (see), he bawaa (come) brought in a Ibaray (Hebrew) to us to tzachaq (mock) us. He bawaa (come) in to me to shakab (lie) with me, and I qaraa (called) with a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) qawal (sound / voice).
15 It happened, when he shamai (hearken / hear) that I rawam (will lift up) up my qawal (sound / voice) and qaraa (called), that he izab (left) his bagad (garment) by me, and ran outside.”
16 She yanach (laid) up his bagad (garment) by her, until his adawan (master / lord) bawaa (bring) bayath (house).
17 She dabar (word / matter) to him according to these dabarayam (words), amar (said), “The ibaray (hebrew) ibad (servant), whom you bawaa (bring) brought to us, bawaa (bring) in to me to tzachaq (mock) me,
18 And it happened, as I rawam (will lift up) up my qawal (sound / voice) and qaraa (called), that he izab (left) his bagad (garment) by me, and ran outside.”
19 It happened, when his adawan (master / lord) shamai (hearken / hear) the dabaray (words) of his ayashah (woman / wife), which she dabar (word / matter) to him, amar (said), “This is dabar (word / matter) your ibad (servant) ishah (make) to me,” that his ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) was charah (hot with anger).
20 Joseph's adawan (master / lord) took him, and put him into the prison, the place where the malak (king) prisoners were bound, and he was there in custody.
21 But Yahawah () was with Yawasap (Joseph), and showed chasad (grace) to him, and nathan (give) him favor in the iyan (eye) of the shar (prince / ruler) of the bayath (house).
22 The shar (prince / ruler) of the bayath (house) nathan (give) to Yawasap (Joseph's) yad (hand) all the asayaram (prisoners) who were in the bayath (house). Whatever they ishah (make) there, he was responsible for it.
23 The shar (prince / ruler) of the bayath (house) didn't look after anything that was under his yad (hand), because Yahawah () was with him; and that which he ishah (make), Yahawah () made it tzalach (prosper).
