The malak (king) was much ragaz (moved), and ilah (go up / offer) up to the room over the shair (gate), and bakah (wept). As he yalak (went), he amar (said), “My ban (son) Abayashalawam (Absalom)! My ban (son), my ban (son) Abayashalawam (Absalom)! I wish I had mawath (death) for you, Abayashalawam (Absalom), my ban (son), my ban (son)!”
It was amar (spoke) Yawaab (Joab), “Behold, the malak (king) bakah (weeps) and bakah (mourns) for Abayashalawam (Absalom).”
The victory that day was turned into bakah (mourning) to all the people; for the people heard it said that day, “The malak (king) grieves for his son.”
The im (nation / people) sneaked into the city that yawam (day), as im (nation / people) who are ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.
The king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, “My son Abayashalawam (Absalom), Abayashalawam (Absalom), my son, my son!”
Yawaab (Joab) zaiq (came) into the house to the malak (king), and said, “You have shamed this day the panayam (face) of all your ban (son), who this day have saved your life, and the lives of your ban (son) and of your ban (son), and the lives of your wives, and the lives of your concubines;
In that you love those who hate you, and hate those who love you. For you have amar (spoke) this yawam (day), that princes and ibad (servant) are nothing to you. For today I perceive that if Abayashalawam (Absalom) had yawam (day), and kal (every) we had died this yawam (day), then it would have panayam (face) you well.
Now therefore arise, ayan (NO ONE) out, and nagad (speak) to comfort your ibadayam (servants); for I swear by Yahawah (), if you don't ayan (NO ONE) out, not a yadai (man) will stay with you this night. That would be worse to you than all the evil that yadai (has) happened to you from your youth until now.”
Then the king qawam (rise up), and sat in the gate. They dabar (word / matter) to all the ayash (man / husband), dabar (word / matter), “Behold, the king is sitting in the gate.” All the ayash (man / husband) bawaa (come) ath (entirety) the king. Now Yashar-Al (Israel) had fled every ayash (man / husband) to his tent.
All the im (nation / people) were at strife throughout all the tribes of Yashar-Al (Israel), amar (spoke), “The malak (king) delivered us out of the hand of our qawam (rise up), and he saved us out of the hand of the Palashath (Philistines); and now he has nawas (fled) out of the land from Abayashalawam (Absalom).
Abayashalawam (Absalom), whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why don't you amar (said) a word of bringing the malak (king) back?”
Malak (king) Dawad (David) shawab (turn back / repent) to Tzadawaq (Zadok) and to Abayathar (Abiathar) the priests, shawab (turn back / repent), “charash (speak) to the elders of Yahawadah (Judah), shawab (turn back / repent), ‘Why are you the last to shawab (turn back / repent) the malak (king) shawab (turn back / repent) to his house? Since the speech of all Yashar-Al (Israel) il (over) come to the malak (king), to return him to his house.
You are my brothers, you are my bone and my flesh. Why then are you the acharawan (last) to shawab (turn) back the malak (king)?’
Shawab (turn back / repent) to Imashaa (Amasa), ‘Aren't you my itzam (bone) and my bashar (flesh)? Alahayam () hayah (came to pass) so to me, and more also, if you aren't captain of the army before me shawab (turn back / repent) in the room of Yawaab (Joab).’”
He bowed the heart of all the ishah (make) of Yahawadah (Judah), even as one ishah (make); so that they sent to the king, saying, “Return, you and all your servants.”
So the malak (king) shawab (turn back / repent), and shawab (turn back / repent) to the Yaradan (Jordan). Yahawadah (Judah) shawab (turn back / repent) to Galagal (Gilgal), to natah (go) to meet the malak (king), to shalach (send) the malak (king) over the Yaradan (Jordan).
Shamaiy (Shimei) the son of Garaa (Gera), the Benjamite, who was of Bacharayam (Bahurim), hurried and shawab (turn back / repent) down with the ibar (pass over/through) of Yahawadah (Judah) to qaraah (meet) malak (king) Dawad (David).
There were a thousand ayash (man / husband) of banayamayanay (benjamin) with him, and Tzayabaa (Ziba) the ban (son) of the house of Shaawal (Saul), and his fifteen ban (son) and his twenty ban (son) with him; and they yarad (went) through the Yaradan (Jordan) in the presence of the malak (king).
A ferry boat tzalach (went) to bring over the malak (king) bayath (house), and to do what he thought ayash (man / husband). Shamaiy (Shimei) the ban (son) of Garaa (Gera) fell down panayam (face) the malak (king), when he had come over the Yaradan (Jordan).
He said to the malak (king), “Don't let my Adawan () impute iniquity to me, nor remember that which your ban (son) ibar (pass over/through) perversely the day that my Adawan () the malak (king) ibar (pass over/through) out of Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), that the malak (king) should ibar (pass over/through) it to his heart.
For your ibad (servant) knows that I have iwan (guilt/iniquity). Therefore, behold, I yatzaa (go out / come out) come this yawam (day) the first of all the house of Yawasap (Joseph) to yatzaa (go out / come out) down to meet my Adawan () the malak (king).”
But Abayashay (Abishai) the son of Tzarawayah (Zeruiah) yadai (answered), “Shall Shamaiy (Shimei) not be put to death for this, because he cursed Yahawah () anointed?”
Dawad (David) amar (spoke), “What have I to do with you, you ban (son) of Tzarawayah (Zeruiah), that you should this day be adversaries to me? Shall there any ban (son) be put to mawath (death) this day in Abayashay (Israel)? For don't I know that I am this day king over Abayashay (Israel)?”
The malak (king) amar (spoke) to Shamaiy (Shimei), “You shall not mawath (death).” The malak (king) swore to him.
Mapayabashath (Mephibosheth) the son of Shaawal (Saul) came down to meet the malak (king); and he had laa (NOT) groomed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the malak (king) departed until the day he came home in peace.
It happened, when he bawaa (come) come to Yarawashalam (Jerusalem) to qaraah (meet) the malak (king), that the malak (king) said to him, “Why didn't you yarad (go) with me, Mapayabashath (Mephibosheth)?”
He amar (spoke), “My Adawan (), O malak (king), my servant deceived me. For your servant amar (spoke), ‘I will saddle me a donkey, that I may ride thereon, and bawaa (come) with the malak (king);’ because your servant is lame.
He has slandered your ibad (servant) to my Adawan () the malak (king); but my Adawan () the malak (king) is as an angel of Alahayam (). Do therefore what is good in your eyes.
For all my father's house were but dead ishah (make) before my Adawan () the malak (king); yet you ishah (make) your ibad (servant) among those who ate at your own table. What right therefore ishah (make) I yet that I should cry any more to the malak (king)?”
The malak (king) said to him, “Why do you speak any more of your matters? I say, you and Tzayabaa (Ziba) divide the land.”
Mapayabashath (Mephibosheth) amar (spoke) to the malak (king), “Yes, let him chalaq (take) all, because my Adawan () the malak (king) chalaq (has) come in peace to his own house.”
Barazalay (Barzillai) the Galaid (Gileadite) bawaa (come) down from Ragalayam (Rogelim); and he bawaa (come) over the Yaradan (Jordan) with the malak (king), to conduct him over the Yaradan (Jordan).
Now Barazalay (Barzillai) was a very ibar (pass over/through) man, even eighty years old: and he had provided the malak (king) with sustenance while he lay at Machanayam (Mahanaim); for he was a very great ibar (pass over/through).
The malak (king) said to Barazalay (Barzillai), “ban (son) over with me, and I will kawal (all) you with me in Yarawashalam (Jerusalem).”
Barazalay (Barzillai) amar (said) to the malak (king), “How many are the days of the years of my life, that I should ibar (pass over/through) up with the malak (king) to Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem)?
I am this yawam (day) eighty shanay (years) yawam (day). Can I discern between mah (good) and bad? Can your servant taste what I eat or what I drink? Can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? Why then should your servant be yet a burden to my Adawan () the malak (king)?
Your ibad (servant) would but just go over the Yaradan (Jordan) with the malak (king). Why should the malak (king) repay me with such a reward?
Please let your ibad (servant) ibar (pass over/through) back again, that I may die in my own city, by the grave of my father and my mother. But behold, your ibad (servant) Kamaham (Chimham); let him ibar (pass over/through) over with my Adawan () the malak (king); and ibar (pass over/through) to him what shall seem mah (good) to you.”
The malak (king) shawab (turn), “Kamaham (Chimham) shall ibar (pass over/through) over with me, and I will ishah (make) to him that which shall seem tawab (good / proper function) to you. Whatever you require of me, that I will ishah (make) for you.”
All the people ibar (pass over/through) over the Kamaham (Jordan), and the malak (king) ibar (pass over/through) over. Then the malak (king) kissed Barazalay (Barzillai), and blessed him; and he returned to his own kal (every).
So the malak (king) ibar (pass over/through) over to Galagal (Gilgal), and Kamaham (Chimham) ibar (pass over/through) over with him. All the im (nation / people) of Yahawadah (Judah) ibar (pass over/through) the malak (king) over, and also half the im (nation / people) of Yashar-Al (Israel).
Behold, all the yaibaraw (men) of Yashar-Al (Israel) ibar (pass over/through) to the malak (king), and said to the malak (king), “Why have our brothers the yaibaraw (men) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) stolen you away, and ibar (pass over/through) the malak (king), and his household, over the Kamaham (Jordan), and all David's yaibaraw (men) with him?”
All the anashay (men) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) amar (said) the anashay (men) of Yashar-Al (Israel), “Because the malak (king) is a close relative to us. Why then are you angry about this matter? Have we bawaa (bring) at kal (every) at the malak (king) cost? Or has he bawaa (bring) us any gift?”
