Again the ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) of Yahawah () was charah (hot with anger) against Yashar-Al (Israel), and he sawath (moved) Dawad (David) amar (spoke) them, saying, “yalak (go), manah (number) Yashar-Al (Israel) and Yahawadah (Judah).”
The malak (king) amar (said) to Yawaab (Yawaab / Joab) the shar (prince / ruler) of the chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor), who was with him, “Now shawat (go) back and forth through all the shabatay (tribes) of Yashar-Al (Israel), from Dan (Dan) even to Baar-Shabai (Beersheba), and paqad (visit) the im (nation / people), that I may yadai (know) the sum of the im (nation / people).”
Yawaab (Joab) amar (spoke) to the malak (king), “Now may Yahawah () your Alahayam () yasap (add) to the im (nation / people), however many they may be, one maah (hundred) times; and may the iyanay (eyes) of my Adawan () the malak (king) raah (see) it. But why does my Adawan () the malak (king) chapatz (delight) in this thing?”
Notwithstanding, the malak (king) dabar (word / matter) chazaq (prevailed) against Yawaab (Yawaab / Joab), and against the sharay (captains) of the chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor). Yawaab (Yawaab / Joab) and the sharay (captains) of the chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor) yatzaa (go out / come out) out from the panayam (face) of the malak (king), to paqad (visit) the im (nation / people) of Yashar-Al (Israel).
They ibar (pass over/through) over the Yaradan (Jordan), and chanah (encamped) in Irawair (Aroer), on the yamayan (right hand) side of the iyar (city) that is in the thawak (midst) of the nachal (stream / river) of Gad (Gad), and to Yaizayar (Jazer):
Then they bawaa (bring) to Galaid (Gilead), and to the aratz (Earth/land) of Thachathayamachadashay (Tahtim Hodshi); and they bawaa (bring) to Danayain (Dan Jaan), and around to Tzayadawan (Sidon),
And bawaa (bring) to the stronghold of Tzar (Tyre), and to all the iray (cities) of the Chaway (Hivites), and of the Kanainay (Canaanite); and they yatzaa (go out / come out) out to the nagab (south) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), at Baar-Shabai (Beersheba).
So when they had shawat (gone) back and forth through all the aratz (Earth/land), they bawaa (bring) to Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem) at the qatzah (end / extremity / border) of thashai (nine) chadashayam (months) and isharayam (twenty) yawam (day).
Yawaab (Yawaab / Joab) nathan (give) up the sum of the mapaqad (numbering) of the im (nation / people) to the malak (king): and there were in Yashar-Al (Israel) shamanah (eight) maah (hundred) alap (thousand) chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor) ayash (man / husband) who shalap (drew) the charab (sword); and the ayash (man / husband) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) were chamash (five) maah (hundred) alap (thousand) ayash (man / husband).
Dawad (David's) lab (heart) nakah (struck) him achar (other) that he had sapar (book) the im (nation / people). Dawad (David) amar (spoke) to Yahawah (), “I have chataa (sinned) maad (greatly) in that which I ishah (make) done. But now, Yahawah (), ibar (pass over/through) away, I beg you, the iwan (guilt/iniquity) of your ibad (servant); for I have done very foolishly.”
When Dawad (David) qawam (rise up) up in the baqar (morning), the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () came to the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) Gad (Gad), Dawad (David's) chazah (seer), amar (spoke),
“Halak (move) and amar (spoke) to Dawad (David), ‘Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), “I natal (offer) you shalawash (three) things. Bachar (choose) achad (one) of them, that I may ishah (make) it to you.”’”
So Gad (Gad) bawaa (bring) to Dawad (David), and nagad (told) him, and amar (said) to him, “Shall shabai (seven) shanayam (two) of raib (famine) bawaa (bring) to you in your aratz (Earth/land)? Or will you nawas (flee) shalawash (three) chadashayam (months) panayam (face) your tzar (oppressor / distressor) while they radap (pursue) you? Or shall there be shalawash (three) yamayam (days)’ dabar (word / matter) in your aratz (Earth/land)? Now yadai (answer), and raah (see / saw) dabar (word / matter) answer I shall shawab (turn) to him who shalach (send) me.”
Dawad (David) amar (spoke) to Gad (Gad), “I am in tzar (oppressor / distressor). Napal (fall / be cast down) us fall now into the yad (hand) of Yahawah (); for his racham (show mercy / love) are rab (great). Napal (fall / be cast down) me not fall into the yad (hand) of adam (man).”
So Yahawah () nathan (give) a dabar (word / matter) on Yashar-Al (Israel) from the baqar (morning) even to the mawaid (Feast/Holy Day) ith (time); and there mawath (death) of the im (nation / people) from Dan (Dan) even to Baar-Shabai (Beersheba) shabaiyam (seventy) alap (thousand) ayash (man / husband).
When the malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) shalach (send) out his yad (hand) toward Yarawashalam (Jerusalem) to shachath (destroy) it, Yahawah () relented of the disaster, and amar (spoke) to the malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) who shachath (destroyed) the im (nation / people), “It is rab (enough). Now rapah (stay) your yad (hand).” The malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) of Yahawah () was by the garan (threshing) floor of Arawanah (Araunah) the Yabawasay (Jebusite).
Dawad (David) amar (spoke) to Yahawah () when he raah (see) the malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) who nakah (struck) the im (nation / people), and amar (spoke), “Behold, I have chataa (sinned), and I have iwah (done) perversely; but these tzaan (sheep), what ishah (make) they done? Please let your yad (hand) be against me, and against my ab (father) bayath (house).”
Gad (Gad) bawaa (come) that yawam (day) to Dawad (David), and amar (spoke) to him, “ilah (go up / offer) up, build an mazabach (altar) to Yahawah () on the garan (threshing) floor of Arawanah (Araunah) the Yabawasay (Jebusite).”
Dawad (David) ilah (go up / offer) up according to the dabar (word / matter) of Gad (Gad), as Yahawah () tzawah (commanded).
Arawanah (Araunah) shaqap (looked) out, and raah (see / saw) the malak (king) and his ibad (servant) ibar (pass over/through) on toward him. Then Arawanah (Araunah) yatzaa (go out / come out) out, and shachah (bowed) himself before the malak (king) with his ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) to the aratz (Earth/land).
Arawanah (Araunah) amar (spoke), “Why has my Adawan () the malak (king) bawaa (come) to his ibad (servant)?” Dawad (David) amar (spoke), “To qanah (buy) your garan (threshing) floor, to banah (build) an mazabach (altar) to Yahawah (), that the magapah (plague) may be itzar (stopped) from afflicting the im (nation / people).”
Arawanah (Araunah) amar (spoke) to Dawad (David), “Let my Adawan () the malak (king) laqach (take / seize) and ilah (go up / offer) up what seems tawab (good / proper function) to him. Raah (see), the cattle for the burnt ilah (offering), and the mawarag (threshing) instruments and the yokes of the oxen for the itz (wood):
All this, malak (king), does Arawanah (Araunah) nathan (give) to the malak (king).” Arawanah (Araunah) amar (spoke) to the malak (king), “May Yahawah () your Alahayam () ratzah (accept) you.”
The malak (king) amar (spoke) to Arawanah (Araunah), “No; but I will most certainly qanah (buy) it from you for a machayar (price). I will not ilah (go up / offer) burnt ilawath (offerings) to Yahawah () my Alahayam () which chanam (cost) me nothing.” So Dawad (David) bought the garan (threshing) floor and the oxen for chamashayam (fifty) shaqalayam (shekels) of kasap (silver).
Dawad (David) banah (build) an mazabach (altar) to Yahawah () there, and ilah (go up / offer) burnt ilawath (offerings) and peace ilawath (offerings). So Yahawah () was entreated for the aratz (Earth/land), and the magapah (plague) was itzar (stayed) from Yashar-Al (Israel).
