1 Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of Yahawah () his Alahayam ():
2 For he ishah (make) away the foreign altars, and the high places, and broke down the pillars, and cut down the Asherim,
3 And commanded Yahawadah (Judah) to seek Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.
4 Also he shaqat (took) away out of all the iray (cities) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) the high places and the sun images: and the kingdom was shaqat (quiet) im (nation / people) him.
5 He banah (build) fortified irayam (cities) in Yahawadah (Judah); for the aratz (Earth/land) was nawach (quiet), and he had no war in those years, because Yahawah () had given him nawach (rest).
6 For he said to Yahawadah (Judah), “Let us build these cities, and make walls around them, with towers, gates, and bars. The land is yet before us, because we have sought Yahawah () our Alahayam (); we have sought him, and he has given us rest on kal (every) side.” So they built and prospered.
7 Asa had an chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor) that yatzaa (go out / come out) bucklers and spears, out of Yahawadah (Judah) shalawash (three) maah (hundred) alap (thousand); and out of Banayamayan (Benjamin), that yatzaa (go out / come out) shields and yatzaa (go out / come out) bows, two maah (hundred) eighty alap (thousand): all these were mighty men of valor.
8 There yatzaa (go out / come out) out against them Zarach (Zerah) the Ethiopian with an army of a million troops, and three hundred chariots; and he yatzaa (go out / come out) to Maraashah (Mareshah).
9 Then Asaa (Asa) ayan (NO ONE) out to meet him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Tzapathah (Zephathah) at Maraashah (Mareshah).
10 Asaa (Asa) cried to Yahawah () his Alahayam (), and said, “Yahawah (), there is none besides you to help, between the mighty and him who has no strength. Help us, Yahawah () our Alahayam (); for we rely on you, and in your name are we come against this multitude. Yahawah (), you are our Alahayam (). Don't let man prevail against you.”
11 So Yahawah () struck the Kawashay (Ethiopians) panayam (face) Asaa (Asa), and panayam (face) Yahawadah (Judah); and the Kawashay (Ethiopians) fled.
12 Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to Garar (Gerar): and there hayah (came to pass) of the Ethiopians so many that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before Yahawah (), and before his army; and they carried away very much booty.
13 They nakah (struck) all the cities around Garar (Gerar); for the fear of Yahawah () came on them: and they despoiled all the cities; for there was much spoil in them.
14 They nakah (struck) also the ahal (tents) of livestock, and shabah (carried) away tzaan (sheep) in rab (abundance), and gamal (camels), and shawab (turn) to Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem).
15 They nakah (struck) all the cities around Garar (Gerar); for the fear of Yahawah () came on them: and they despoiled all the cities; for there was much spoil in them.
