Job 10 — Novel English Bible

“My napash (soul) is naqat (weary) of my chay (life). I will give free course to my shayach (complaint). I will dabar (word / matter) in the bitterness of my napash (soul).

I will amar (spoke) Alawah (), ‘rashai (do) not condemn me. Show me why you rayab (contend) with me.

Is it tawab (good / proper function) to you that you should ishaq (oppress), that you should maas (despise) the yagayai (work) of your kap (hands), and smile on the itzah (counsel) of the rashai (wicked)?

Do you have iyanay (eyes) of bashar (flesh)? Or do you raah (see / saw) as anawash (man) raah (see / saw)?

Are your yamay (days) as the yamay (days) of anawash (mortals), or your shanah (years) as anawash (man's) shanah (years),

That you inquire after my iwan (guilt/iniquity), and darash (search) after my chataah (sin)?

Although you daith (know) that I am not rashai (wicked), there is no one who can natzal (deliver) out of your yad (hand).

“‘Your yad (hand) have framed me and ishah (make) me yachad (altogether), yet you balai (destroy) me.

Zakar (remember), I beg you, that you ishah (make) fashioned me as chamar (clay). Will you shawab (turn) me into ipar (dust) again?

Haven't you nathak (poured) me out like chalab (milk), and qapaa (curdled) me like gabanah (cheese)?

You have labash (clothed) me with iwar (skin) and bashar (flesh), and knit me together with itzamawath (bones) and gayadayam (sinews).

You ishah (make) granted me chay (life) and loving chasad (grace). Your paqadah (visitation) has shamar (keep/guard) my rawach (spirit / wind).

Yet you tzapan (hid) these things in your labab (heart). I yadai (know) that this is with you:

If I chataa (sin), then you shamar (keep/guard) me. You will not naqah (clean/innocent) me from my iwan (guilt/iniquity).

If I am rashai (wicked), alalay (woe) to me. If I am tzadaq (righteous / just / fair), I still shall not nashaa (lift) up my raash (head), being filled with disgrace, and conscious of my inay (affliction).

If my gaah (head) is held high, you tzawad (hunt) me like a shachal (lion). Again you show yourself powerful to me.

You chadash (renew) your witnesses against me, and rabah (increase) your kais (indignation) on me. Chalayapawath (changes) and tzabaa (troop) are with me.

“‘Why, then, yatzaa (go out / come out) you brought me forth out of the racham (show mercy / love)? I wish I had gawai (given) up the spirit, and no iyan (eye) raah (see / saw) seen me.

I should have been as though I had not been. I should have been yabal (carried) from the batan (womb) to the qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher).

Aren't my yawam (day) mait (few)? Chadal (cease) then. Leave me shayath (put / appoint / make), that I may find a mait (little) balag (comfort),

Before I yalak (go) where I shall not shawab (turn) from, to the aratz (Earth/land) of chashak (darkness) and of the shadow of tzalamawath (death);

The aratz (Earth/land) dark as midnight, of the shadow of tzalamawath (death), without any sadar (order), where the yapai (light) is as midnight.’”
