Proverbs 14 — Novel English Bible

1 Chakamawath (every) wise ayashah (woman / wife) banah (build) her bayath (house), but the foolish haras (one) tears it down with her own yad (hand).

2 He who halak (move) in his yashar (upright) yaraa (fears) Yahawah (), but he who is lawaz (perverse) in his darak (ways) bazah (despises) him.

3 The awayal (fool's) pah (talk) brings a chatar (rod) to his back, but the shapathay (lips) of the chakam (wise) protect them.

4 Where no alapayam (oxen) are, the abawas (crib) is bar (clean), but much thabawaah (increase) is by the kach (strength / mighty / power) of the shawar (ox).

5 A truthful id (until / as far as) will not kazab (lie), but a shaqar (false) id (until / as far as) pours out kazab (lies).

6 A lawatz (scoffer) baqash (seeks) chakamah (wisdom), and doesn't find it, but daith (knowledge) comes easily to a bayan (between) person.

7 Stay away from a kasayal (foolish) ayash (man / husband), for you won't find daith (knowledge) on his shapathay (lips).

8 The chakamah (wisdom) of the irawam (prudent) is to bayan (between) about his darak (way), but the awalath (folly) of kasayalayam (fools) is maramah (deceit).

9 Awalayam (fools) lawatz (mock) at making atonement for asham (sins), but among the yashar (upright) there is good ratzawan (will).

10 The lab (heart) yadai (knows) its napash (soul) marah (bitterness) and joy; he will not share these with a stranger.

11 The bayath (house) of the rashai (wicked) will be overthrown, but the ahal (tent) of the yashar (upright) will parach (flourish).

12 There is a darak (way) which seems yashar (upright) to a ayash (man / husband), but in the acharayath (end) it leads to mawath (death).

13 Even in shachawaq (laughter/joking matter) the lab (heart) may be kaab (sorrowful), and shamachah (mirth) may acharayath (end) in thawagah (heaviness).

14 The unfaithful will be repaid for his own darak (ways); likewise a tawab (good / proper function) ayash (man / husband) will be rewarded for his ways.

15 A pathay (simple) man aman (believe / have faith) everything, but the irawam (prudent) bayan (between) carefully considers his ashar (who/that).

16 A chakam (wise) man yaraa (fears), and shuns rai (evil), but the kasayal (fool) is hotheaded and reckless.

17 He who is quick to become angry will ishah (make) awalath (folly), and a crafty ayash (man / husband) is shanaa (hate).

18 The pathay (simple) nachal (inherit) awalath (folly), but the irawam (prudent) are kathar (crowned) with daith (knowledge).

19 The rai (evil) shachach (bow) down panayam (face) the tawab (good / proper function), and the rashai (wicked) at the shairay (gates) of the tzadayaq (righteous).

20 The rawash (poor) person is shunned even by his own neighbor, but the ishayar (rich) person rab (has) many ahabay (friends).

21 He who bawaz (despises) his neighbor chataa (sins), but ashar (who/that) is he who chanan (showing favor) pity on the inay (poor).

22 Don't they thaih (go) astray who plot rai (evil)? But chasad (grace) and amath (truth) belong to those who plan tawab (good / proper function).

23 In all hard itzab (work) there is mawathar (profit), but the dabar (word / matter) of the shapathayam (lips) leads only to machasawar (poverty).

24 The itarah (crown) of the chakam (wise) is their riches, but the awalath (folly) of kasayalayam (fools) crowns them with awalath (folly).

25 A truthful id (until / as far as) natzal (saves) napashawath (souls), but a maramah (false) witness is deceitful.

26 In the yaraah (fear) of Yahawah () is a secure fortress, and he will be a machasah (refuge) for his ban (son).

27 The yaraah (fear) of Yahawah () is a maqawar (fountain) of chay (life), sawar (turning) people from the maqashay (snares) of mawath (death).

28 In the rab (multitude) of im (nation / people) is the malak (king) glory, but in the lack of laam (people) is the machathah (destruction) of the razawan (prince).

29 He who is arak (slow) to ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) rab (has) great thabawan (understanding), but he who has a quick temper displays awalath (folly).

30 The chay (life) of the bashar (flesh) is a lab (heart) at marapaa (peace), but qanaah (envy) rots the itzamawath (bones).

31 He who oppresses the dal (poor) shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the abayawan (needy) honors him.

32 The rashai (wicked) is brought down in his rai (calamity), but in mawath (death), the tzadayaq (righteous) chasah (has) a refuge.

33 Chakamah (wisdom) nawach (rests) in the lab (heart) of one who has bayan (between), and is even yadai (made) known in the qarab (among / near) part of kasayalayam (fools).

34 Tzadaqah (righteousness) rawam (will lift up) a gaway (heathen / nation), but chataah (sin) is a disgrace to any laamayam (people).

35 The malak (king) favor is toward a ibad (servant) who deals shakal (wisely), but his ibarah (wrath) is toward one who bawash (causes) shame.
