Proverbs 28 — Novel English Bible

1 The rashai (wicked) nawas (flee) when no one radap (pursues); but the tzadayaq (righteous) are as batach (bold) as a kapayar (lion).

2 In pashai (rebellion), a aratz (Earth/land) rab (has) many shar (prince / ruler), but order is maintained by a adam (man) of bayan (between) and yadai (knowledge).

3 A rawash (needy) gabar (man) who oppresses the dal (poor) is like a driving matar (rain) which leaves no crops.

4 Those who izab (forsake) the thawarah (Torah / Instruction) halal (praise) the rashai (wicked); but those who shamar (keep/guard) the thawarah (Torah / Instruction) garah (contend) with them.

5 Rai (evil) anashay (men) don't bayan (between) mashapat (justice); but those who baqash (seek) Yahawah () bayan (between) it fully.

6 Tawab (good / proper function) is the rawash (poor) who halak (move) in his tham (integrity), than he who is iqash (perverse) in his darakayam (ways), and he is ishayar (rich).

7 Whoever natzar (keeps) the thawarah (Torah / Instruction) is a bayan (between) ban (son); but he who is a raih (companion) of zawalalayam (gluttons) kalam (shames) his ab (father).

8 He who rabah (increases) his hawan (wealth) by excessive interest qabatz (gathers) it for one who chanan (showing favor) pity on the dal (poor).

9 He who sawar (turns) away his azan (ear) from shamai (hearken / hear) the thawarah (Torah / Instruction), even his thapalah (prayer) is an thawaibah (abomination).

10 Whoever causes the yashar (upright) to shagah (go) astray in an rai (evil) darak (way), he will napal (fall / be cast down) into his own trap; but the blameless will nachal (inherit) tawab (good / proper function).

11 The ishayar (rich) ayash (man / husband) is chakam (wise) in his own iyan (eye); but the dal (poor) who has bayan (between) sees through him.

12 When the tzadayaq (righteous) ilatz (triumph), there is rab (great) glory; but when the rashai (wicked) qawam (rise up), adam (men) chapash (hide) themselves.

13 He who kasah (conceals) his pashai (sins) doesn't tzalach (prosper), but whoever confesses and renounces them finds racham (show mercy / love).

14 Ashar (who/that) is the adam (man) who thamayad (always) pachad (fear / dread); but qashah (rough / hard) who hardens his lab (heart) napal (fall / be cast down) into rai (trouble).

15 As a naham (roaring) aray (lion) or a charging dab (bear), so is a rashai (wicked) mashal (rule/have dominion) over helpless im (nation / people).

16 A tyrannical nagayad (ruler) chasar (lacks) thabawan (judgment). One who shanaay (hates) ill-gotten gain will have arak (long) yamayam (days).

17 A adam (man) who is tormented by napash (soul) dam (blood) will be a fugitive until bawar (death); no thamak (one) will support him.

18 Whoever halak (move) blamelessly is kept yashai (salvation); but one with iqash (perverse) darakayam (ways) will napal (fall / be cast down) suddenly.

19 One who ibad (servant) his adamah (land) will shabai (have) an abundance of lacham (food); but one who radap (chases) fantasies will have his fill of rayash (poverty).

20 A amawanah (faithful) ayash (man / husband) is rich with barakawath (blessings); but awatz (one) who is eager to be ishar (rich) will not go naqah (clean/innocent).

21 To show partiality is not tawab (good / proper function); yet a gabar (man) will do wrong for a path (piece) of lacham (bread).

22 A stingy iyan (eye) hurries after riches, and doesn't yadai (know) that chasar (poverty) waits for him.

23 One who yakach (rebukes) a adam (man) will afterward matzaa (find) more favor than one who chalaq (flatters) with the lashawan (tongue / language).

24 Whoever gazal (robs) his ab (father) or his am (mother), and amar (said), “It's not wrong.” He is a partner with a destroyer.

25 Napash (soul) who is greedy garah (stirs) up madawan (strife); but one who batach (trusts) in Yahawah () will dashan (prosper).

26 One who batach (trusts) in himself is a kasayal (fool); but one who halak (move) in chakamah (wisdom) is kept safe.

27 One who nathan (give) to the rawash (poor) has no machasawar (lack); but ilam (one) who closes his iyan (eye) will rab (have) many maarawath (curses).

28 When the rashai (wicked) qawam (rise up), adam (men) sathar (hide) themselves; but when they abad (destroy / perish), the tzadayaq (righteous) thrive.
