Ecclesiastes 8 — Novel English Bible

Who is like the chakam (wise) yadai (man)? And who knows the pashar (interpretation) of a thing? A adam (man's) chakamah (wisdom) makes his panayam (face) awar (light), and the hardness of his panayam (face) is shanaa (hate).

I say, “shamar (keep/guard) the malak (king) command!” Because of the shabawaih (oath) to Alahayam ().

Don't be hasty to yalak (go) out of his panayam (face). Don't persist in an rai (evil) thing, for he ishah (make) whatever pleases him,

For the malak (king) dabar (word / matter) is supreme. Who can amar (said) to him, “What are you ishah (make)?”

Whoever shamar (keep/guard) the matzawah (commandment) shall not yadai (come) to rai (harm), and his wise lab (heart) yadai (will) know the ith (time) and procedure.

For there is a ith (time) and procedure for every chapatz (purpose), although the rai (misery) of adam (man) is heavy on him.

For he doesn't yadai (know) that which will be; for who can nagad (tell) him how it will be?

There is no adam (man) who has shalayat (power) over the rawach (spirit / wind) to contain the rawach (spirit / wind); neither does he have shalatawan (power) over the yawam (day) of mawath (death). There is no mashalachath (discharge) in malachamah (war); neither shall rashai (wickedness) malat (deliver) bail (those) who practice it.

All this raah (see / saw) I seen, and nathan (give) my lab (heart) to every maishah (work) that is ishah (make) under the shamash (sun). There is a ith (time) in which one adam (man) has shalat (power) over another to his rai (hurt).

So I raah (see / saw) the rashai (wicked) qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher). Bawaa (bring) they came also from maqawam (place). They bawaa (bring) and were shakach (forgotten) in the iyar (city) where they ishah (make) this. This also is habal (vanity).

Because pathagam (sentence) against an rai (evil) maishah (work) is not ishah (make) maharah (speedily), therefore the lab (heart) of the banay (my son) of adam (men) is fully malaa (set) in them to ishah (make) rai (evil).

Though a chataa (sinner) ishah (make) crimes a maah (hundred) times, and arak (lives) long, yet surely I yadai (know) that it will be tawab (good / proper function) with those who yaraa (fear / be afraid) Alahayam (), who are reverent panayam (face) him.

But it shall not be tawab (good / proper function) with the rashai (wicked), neither shall he arak (lengthen) yamayam (days) like a tzal (shadow); panayam (face) he doesn't yaraa (fear) Alahayam ().

There is a habal (vanity) which is ishah (make) on the aratz (Earth/land), that there are tzadayaq (righteous) men to whom it nagai (happens) according to the maishah (work) of the rashai (wicked). Again, there are rashai (wicked) men to whom it nagai (happens) according to the maishah (work) of the tzadayaq (righteous). I amar (said) that this also is habal (vanity).

Then I shabach (commended) shamachah (mirth), because a adam (man) has no tawab (good / proper function) thing under the shamash (sun), than to akal (eat), and to shathah (drinks), and to be shamach (joyful): for that will accompany him in his imal (labor) all the yamay (days) of his chay (life) which Alahayam () nathan (give) given him under the shamash (sun).

When I nathan (give) my lab (heart) to yadai (know) chakamah (wisdom), and to raah (see / saw) the inayan (business) that is ishah (make) on the aratz (Earth/land) (for also there is that neither yawam (day) nor layal (night) raah (see / saw) shanah (sleep) with his iyan (eye)),

Then I raah (see) all the maishah (work) of Alahayam (), that adam (man) can't matzaa (find) out the maishah (work) that is ishah (make) under the shamash (sun), ashar (who/that) however much a adam (man) imal (labors) to baqash (seek) it out, yet he won't matzaa (find) it. Yes even though a chakam (wise) man amar (spoke) he yadai (can) comprehend it, he won't be yakal (able) to matzaa (find) it.
