Isaiah 42 — Novel English Bible

“Behold, my ibad (servant), whom I uphold; my bachayar (chosen), in whom my napash (soul) ratzah (delights)— I nathan (give) put my rawach (spirit / wind) on him. He will yatzaa (go out / come out) mashapat (justice) to the gawayam (heathen).

He will not shout, nor nashaa (lift) his qawal (sound / voice), nor shamai (hearken / hear) it to be heard in the chawatz (street).

He won't shabar (break) a ratzatz (bruised) qanah (reed). He won't kabah (quench) a dimly burning wick. He will faithfully yatzaa (go out / come out) mashapat (justice).

He will not kahah (fail) nor be ratzatz (discouraged), until he has shawam (place / establish / appoint) mashapat (justice) in the aratz (Earth/land), and the ayayam (islands) will yachal (wait) for his thawarah (Torah / Instruction).”

Thus amar (spoke) Al Yahawah (), he who baraa (created) the shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens) and natah (stretched) them out, he who raqai (spread) out the aratz (Earth/land) and that which comes out of it, he who nathan (give) nashamah (breathing thing) to its im (nation / people) and rawach (spirit / wind) to those who halak (move) in it.

“I, Yahawah (), have qaraa (called) you in tzadaq (righteous / just / fair), and will chazaq (hold) your yad (hand), and will natzar (keep) you, and nathan (give) you a barayath (covenant) for the im (nation / people), as a awar (light) for the gawayam (nations);

To paqach (open) the iwar (blind) iyanayam (eyes), to bring the asayar (prisoners) out of the dungeon, and those who yashab (inhabit/dwell) in chashak (darkness) out of the kalaa (prison).

“I am Yahawah (). That is my sham (name). I will not nathan (give) my kabawad (glory) to achar (other), nor my thahalah (praise) to engraved pasayalayam (images).

Behold, the raashawan (former) things bawaa (bring) happened, and I nagad (declare) chadash (new) things. I shamai (hearken / hear) you about them before they come up.”

Shayar (sing) to Yahawah () a chadash (new) shayar (song), and his thahalah (praise) from the qatzah (end / extremity / border) of the aratz (Earth/land), you who yarad (go) down to the yam (sea/waters), and malaa (all) that is therein, the ayayam (islands) and their yashab (inhabit/dwell).

Let the madabar (wilderness) and its iyar (cities) nashaa (lift) their voices, with the chatzarayam (villages) that Qadar (Kedar) yashabay (inhabits). Let the yashabay (inhabitants) of Sela ranan (sing). Let them tzawach (shout) from the raash (head) of the harayam (mountains)!

Let them shawam (place / establish / appoint) kabawad (glory) to Yahawah (), and nagad (declare) his thahalah (praise) in the ayayam (islands).

Yahawah () will yatzaa (go out / come out) out like a gabawar (mighty) man. He will iwar (rouse / awaken) up qanaah (zeal) like a ayash (man / husband) of malachamah (war). He will raise a war rawai (cry). Yes, he will shout aloud. He will triumph over his ayab (enemy).

“I have been chashah (silent) a iwalam (eternity) time. I have been charash (quiet) and apaq (restrained) myself. Now I will paih (cry) out like a travailing yalad (birth / begot). I will yachad (both) gasp and shaap (pant).

I will charab (destroy) harayam (mountains) and gabaiwath (hills), and yabash (dry land) up all their ishab (herbs). I will shawam (place / establish / appoint) the naharawath (rivers) ayayam (islands), and will yabash (dry land) up the agamayam (pools).

I will yalak (bring) the iwar (blind) by a darak (way) that they don't yadai (know). I will darak (lead) them in nathayabawath (paths) that they don't yadai (know). I will shawam (place / establish / appoint) machashak (darkness) awar (light) panayam (face) them, and maiqash (crooked) places mayashawar (straight). I will ishah (make) these things, and I will not izab (forsake) them.

“Those who batach (trust) in engraved pasal (image), who amar (spoke) molten pasal (image), ‘You are our Alahayam (),’ will be sawag (turned) achawar (back). They will be utterly disappointed.

“Shamai (hearken / hear), you charash (deaf), and nabat (look), you iwar (blind), that you may raah (see / saw).

Who is iwar (blind), but my ibad (servant)? Or who is as charash (deaf) as my malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) whom I shalach (send)? Who is as iwar (blind) as he who is at shalam (peace), and as iwar (blind) as Yahawah () ibad (servant)?

You raah (see / saw) many things, but don't shamar (keep/guard). His azanayam (ears) are paqach (open), but he doesn't shamai (hearken / hear).

It chapatz (pleased) Yahawah (), for his tzadaq (righteous / just / fair)’ sake, to gadal (magnify) the thawarah (instruction), and make it honorable.

But this is a bazaz (robbed) and plundered im (nation / people). All of them are pachach (snared) in chawarayam (holes), and they are chabaa (hidden) in kalaayam (prisons). They have become a baz (prey), and no one natzal (delivers); and a mashasah (spoil), and no one amar (said), ‘shawab (turn) them!’

Who is there among you who will azan (ear) ear to this? Who will listen and shamai (hearken / hear) for the achawar (time) to come?

Who nathan (give) Yaiqab (Jacob) as plunder, and Yashar-Al (Israel) to the bazazayam (robbers)? Didn't Yahawah (), he against whom we have chataa (sinned)? For they would not halak (move) in his darak (ways), and they disobeyed his thawarah (instruction).

Therefore he shapak (poured) the fierceness of his ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) on him, and the izawaz (strength) of malachamah (battle); and it set him on lahat (fire) all around, but he didn't yadai (know); and it bair (burned) him, but he didn't shawam (place / establish / appoint) it to lab (heart).”
