Isaiah 8 — Novel English Bible

Yahawah () amar (spoke) to me, “laqach (take / seize) a large tablet, and kathab (write) on it with a anawash (man's) charat (pen), ‘For Maharashalalachashabaz (Maher Shalal Hash Baz)’;

And I will iwad (admonish/bear witness against) for myself aman (believe / have faith) witnesses to iwad (admonish/bear witness against): Awarayah (Uriah the Hittite) the kahan (priest), and Zakarayah (Zechariah) the ban (son) of Yabarakayahaw (Jeberechiah).”

I qarab (come close) to the nabayaah (prophetess), and she harah (conceived), and yalad (birth / begot) a ban (son). Then Yahawah () amar (spoke) to me, “qaraa (called) his sham (name) ‘Maharashalalachashabaz (Maher Shalal Hash Baz).’

For before the nair (child) yadai (knows) how to qaraa (called), ‘My ab (father),’ and, ‘My am (mother),’ the riches of Damashaq (Damascus) and the shalal (spoil) of Shamarawan (Samaria) will be nashaa (lift) away by the malak (king) of Ashawar (Assyria).”

Yahawah () dabar (word / matter) to me yet again, amar (spoke),

“Yain (because) this im (nation / people) have maas (refused) the may (waters) of shalach (shiloah) that halak (move) at (softly), and mashawash (rejoice) in Ratzayan (Rezin) and Ramalayahaw (Remaliah's) ban (son);

Now therefore, behold, the Adanay () ilah (go up / offer) upon them the itzawam (mighty) flood may (waters) of the nahar (river): the malak (king) of Ashawar (Assyria) and all his kabawad (glory). It will ilah (go up / offer) up over all its apayaq (channels), and halak (move) over all its gadah (banks).

It will sweep onward into Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah). It will shatap (overflow) and ibar (pass over/through) through; it will nagai (reach) even to the tzawaar (neck); and the matah (stretching) out of its kanap (wings) will malaa (fill) the rachab (breadth) of your aratz (Earth/land), Imanawaal (Immanuel).

Make an uproar, you imayam (peoples), and be broken in pieces! Listen, kal (every) you from marachaq (far) aratz (Earth/land): dress for battle, and be shattered! Dress for battle, and be shattered!

Iwatz (take) itzah (counsel) iwatz (together), and it will be parar (brought) to nothing; dabar (word / matter) the dabar (word / matter), and it will not qawam (rise up): for Al is with us.”

For Yahawah () amar (spoke) thus to me with a chazaqah (strong) yad (hand), and yasar (instructed) me not to yalak (walk) in the darak (way) of this im (nation / people), amar (spoke),

“Don't amar (said), ‘A qashar (conspiracy)!’ Concerning all about which this im (nation / people) amar (said), ‘A qashar (conspiracy)!’ Neither yaraa (fear / be afraid) their threats, nor be terrorized.

Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies) is who you must respect as holy. He is the one you must mawaraa (fear). He is the one you must iratz (dread).

He will be a maqadash (sanctuary), but for shanayam (two) bathay (houses) of Yashar-Al (Israel), he will be a trap and a mawaqash (snare) for the yashab (inhabit/dwell) of Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem).

Many will kashal (stumble / stagger) over it, napal (fall / be cast down), be shabar (broken), be yaqash (snared), and be captured.”

Wrap up the thaiwadah (testimony). Chatham (seal) the thawarah (Torah / Instruction) among my lamawad (disciples).

I will chakah (wait) for Yahawah (), who sathar (hides) his panayam (face) from the bayath (house) of Yaiqab (Jacob), and I will qawah (gather/wait) for him.

Behold, I and the yaladayam (children) whom Yahawah () nathan (give) given me are for athawath (signs) and for mawapathayam (wonders) in Yashar-Al (Israel) from Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies), who shakan (place) in har (mountain) Tzayawan (Zion).

When they amar (spoke) you, “Consult with those who have familiar abawath (spirits) and with the yadainayam (wizards), who chirp and who hagah (mutter):” shouldn't a im (nation / people) consult with their Alahayam ()? Should they consult the mawath (death) on behalf of the chay (life)?

Turn to the thawarah (Torah / Instruction) and to the thaiwadah (testimony)! If they don't amar (said) according to this dabar (word / matter), surely there is no shachar (morning) for them.

They will ibar (pass over/through) through it, very distressed and raib (hungry); and it will happen that when they are raib (hungry), they will worry, and qalal (curse) by their malak (king) and by their Alahayam (). They will panah (turn) their mail (top/above) upward,

And nabat (look) to the aratz (Earth/land), and see tzarah (distress), chashakah (darkness), and the gloom of tzawaq (anguish). They will be nadach (driven) into thick apalah (darkness).
