Jeremiah 22 — Novel English Bible

Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (): “yarad (go) down to the bayath (house) of the malak (king) of Yahawadah (Judah), and dabar (word / matter) there this dabar (word / matter),

‘Amar (spoke), shamai (hearken / hear) the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah (), malak (king) of Yahawadah (Judah), who yashab (inhabit/dwell) on the kasaa (throne) of Dawad (David), you, and your ibad (servant), and your im (nation / people) who bawaa (come) in by these shairayam (gates).

Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (): “ishah (make) mashapat (justice) and tzadaqah (righteousness), and natzal (deliver) him who is gazal (robbed) out of the yad (hand) of the ishawaq (oppressor): and yanah (do) no wrong, chamas (do) no violence, to the foreigner, the yathawam (fatherless), nor the alamanah (widow); neither shapak (shed) naqay (innocent) dam (blood) in this maqawam (place).

For if you ishah (make) this thing ishah (make), then shall there bawaa (bring) in by the shairay (gates) of this bayath (house) malakayam (kings) sitting on the kasaa (throne) of Dawad (David), rakab (riding) in rakab (chariots) and on sawasayam (horses), he, and his ibad (servant), and his im (nation / people).

But if you will not shamai (hearken / hear) these dabarayam (words), I shabai (swear / take oath) by myself,” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), “that this bayath (house) shall become a desolation.”’”

For thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () concerning the bayath (house) of the malak (king) of Yahawadah (Judah): “You are Galaid (Gilead) to me, the raash (head) of Labanawan (Lebanon). Yet surely I will shayath (put / appoint / make) you a madabar (wilderness), irayam (cities) which are not yashab (inhabit/dwell).

I will qadash (set apart / make holy) destroyers against you, everyone with his kalay (weapons); and they shall karath (cut) down your mabachar (choice) araz (cedars), and napal (fall / be cast down) them into the ash (fire).

“Many gawayam (nations) shall ibar (pass over/through) by this iyar (city), and they shall amar (spoke) every ayash (man / husband) to his neighbor, ‘Why has Yahawah () ishah (make) thus to this gadawal (very great/important/mighty) iyar (city)?’

Then they shall amar (spoke), ‘Because they forsook the barayath (covenant) of Yahawah () their Alahayam (), and shachah (worshiped) other Alahayam (), and ibad (servant) them.’”

Don't bakah (weep) for the mawath (death), neither nawad (bemoan) him; but bakah (weep) bitterly for him who halak (move) away; for he shall shawab (turn) no more, nor raah (see / saw) his mawaladath (kindred / native land) aratz (Earth/land).

For thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () touching Shalawam (Shallum) the ban (son) of Yaashayah (Josiah), malak (king) of Yahawadah (Judah), who malak (king) instead of Yaashayah (Josiah) his ab (father), and who yatzaa (go out / come out) forth out of this maqawam (place): “He shall not shawab (turn back / repent) there any more.

But in the maqawam (place) where they have galah (led) him captive, there shall he mawath (death), and he shall raah (see / saw) this aratz (Earth/land) no more.”

“Haway (Alas/Woe!) To him who banah (build) his bayath (house) by unrighteousness, and his rooms by injustice; who uses his neighbor's ibad (servant) chanam (without) wages, and doesn't nathan (give) him his hire;

Who amar (said), ‘I will banah (build) me a madah (wide) bayath (house) and spacious rooms,’ and qarai (cuts) him out chalawan (windows); and it is ceiling with araz (cedar), and mashach (painted) with vermilion.

“Shall you malak (king), because you strive to excel in araz (cedar)? Didn't your ab (father) akal (eat) and shathah (drinks), and ishah (make) mashapat (justice) and tzadaqah (righteousness)? Then it was tawab (good / proper function) with him.

He dayan (judge) the dayan (judge) of the inay (poor) and abayawan (needy); then it was tawab (good / proper function). Wasn't this to daith (know) me?” Naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().

But your iyan (eye) and your lab (heart) are not but for your batzai (covetousness), and for shapak (shedding) naqay (innocent) dam (blood), and for ishaq (oppression), and for maratzah (violence), to ishah (make) it.”

Therefore thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () concerning Yahawayaqayam (Jehoiakim) the ban (son) of Yaashayah (Josiah), malak (king) of Yahawadah (Judah): “they shall not sapad (lament) for him, saying, ‘haway (Alas/Woe!) My ach (brother/kinsman)!’ Or, ‘haway (Alas/Woe!) Achawath (sister)!’ They shall not sapad (lament) for him, saying ‘haway (Alas/Woe!) Adawan ()!’ Or, ‘haway (Alas/Woe!) His glory!’

He shall be qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher) with the qabawarah (burial) of a donkey, sachab (drawn) and shalak (cast) forth halaah (beyond) the shairay (gates) of Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem).”

“Ilah (go up / offer) up to Labanawan (Lebanon), and tzaiq (cry); and nathan (give) up your qawal (sound / voice) in Bashan (Bashan), and tzaiq (cry) from Ibarayam (Abarim); for all your lovers are shabar (destroyed).

I dabar (word / matter) to you in your shalawah (prosperity); but you amar (said), ‘I will not shamai (hearken / hear).’ This has been your darak (way) from your naiwar (youth), that you didn't shamai (hearken / hear) my qawal (sound / voice).

The rawach (spirit / wind) shall raih (feed) all your raih (shepherds), and your lovers shall yalak (go) into shabay (captivity): surely then you will be bawash (ashamed) and kalam (confounded) for all your rai (wickedness).

Yashab (inhabit/dwell) of Labanawan (Lebanon), who qanan (makes) your nest in the arazayam (cedars), how greatly to be chanan (showing favor) you will be when chabalayam (pangs) bawaa (bring) on you, the chayal (pain) as of a yalad (birth / begot) in travail!

“As I chay (life),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), “though Kanayahaw (Coniah) the ban (son) of Yahawayaqayam (Jehoiakim) malak (king) of Yahawadah (Judah) were the chawatham (signet) on my yamayan (right hand) yad (hand), yet would I nathaq (pluck) you there;

And I will nathan (give) you into the yad (hand) of those who baqash (seek) your napash (soul), and into the yad (hand) of them of whom you are yagawar (afraid), even into the yad (hand) of Nabawakadanaatzar (Nebuchadnezzar) malak (king) of Babal (Babylon), and into the yad (hand) of the Kashaday (Chaldeans).

I will tawal (cast) you out, and your am (mother) who yalad (birth / begot) you, into achar (other) aratz (Earth/land), where you were not yalad (birth / begot); and there you will mawath (death).

But to the aratz (Earth/land) whereunto their nashaa (lift) longs to shawab (turn), there shall they not shawab (turn).”

Is this ayash (man / husband) Kanayahaw (Coniah) a bazah (despised) napatz (broken) vessel? Is he a kalay (vessel) in which none chapatz (delights)? Why are they shalak (cast) out, he and his zarai (seed), and are tawal (cast) into the aratz (Earth/land) which they don't yadai (know)?

O aratz (Earth/land), aratz (Earth/land), aratz (Earth/land), shamai (hearken / hear) the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah ().

Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), “kathab (write) you this ayash (man / husband) irayaray (childless), a gabar (man) who shall not tzalach (prosper) in his yawam (day); for no more shall a ayash (man / husband) of his zarai (seed) tzalach (prosper), sitting on the kasaa (throne) of Dawad (David), and mashal (rule/have dominion) in Yahawadah (Judah).”
