Jeremiah 29 — Novel English Bible

Now these are the dabaray (words) of the sapar (book / scribed document) that Yaramayah (Jeremiah) the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) shalach (send) from Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem) to the yathar (residue) of the zaqanay (elders) of the gawalah (captivity), and to the kahanayam (priests), to the nabayaayam (prophets), and to all the im (nation / people), whom Nabawakadanaatzar (Nebuchadnezzar) had galah (carried) away captive from Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem) to Babal (Babylon),

(Achar (other) that Yakanayah (Jeconiah) the malak (king), the gabayarah (queen) mother, the sarayasayam (eunuchs), the sharay (princes) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) and Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem), the craftsmen, and the masagar (smiths), yatzaa (go out / come out) departed from Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem)),

By the yad (hand) of Alaishah (Elasah) the ban (son) of Shapan (Shaphan), and Gamarayah (Gemariah) the ban (son) of Chalaqayah (Hilkiah), (whom Tzadaqayah (Zedekiah) malak (king) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) shalach (send) to Babal (Babylon) to Nabawakadanaatzar (Nebuchadnezzar) malak (king) of Babal (Babylon)), amar (said),

Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), to all the captivity, whom I have caused to be galah (carried) away gawalah (captive) from Yarawashalam (Jerusalem) to Babal (Babylon):

“Banah (build) bathayam (houses), and yashab (inhabit/dwell) in them; and natai (plant) ganawath (gardens), and akal (eat) their paray (fruit).

Laqach (take / seize) wives, and yalad (birth / begot) banayam (sons) and banawath (daughters); and laqach (take / seize) wives for your banayam (sons), and nathan (give) your banawath (daughters) to anashayam (husbands), that they may yalad (birth / begot) banayam (sons) and banayam (daughters); and rabah (multiply) there, and don't be mait (diminished).

Darash (seek) the shalawam (peace / safety) of the iyar (city) where I have caused you to be galah (carried) away captive, and palal (pray) to Yahawah () for it; for in its shalawam (peace / safety) you shall have shalawam (peace / safety).”

For thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel): “Don't let your nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) who are in the qarab (among / near) of you, and your diviners, nashaa (lift) you; neither shamai (hearken / hear) to your chalawam (dreams) which you cause to be chalam (dream).

For they nabaa (prophesy) falsely to you in my sham (name): I have not shalach (send) them,” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().

For thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), “pah (after) shabaiyam (seventy) shanah (years) are malaa (accomplished) for Babal (Babylon), I will paqad (visit) you, and qawam (rise up) my tawab (good / proper function) dabar (word / matter) toward you, in causing you to shawab (turn back / repent) to this maqawam (place).

For I yadai (know) the machashabath (thoughts) that I chashab (think) toward you,” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), “machashabath (thoughts) of shalawam (peace / safety), and not of rai (evil), to nathan (give) you thaqawah (hope) and a future.

You shall qaraa (called) on me, and you shall halak (move) and palal (pray) to me, and I will shamai (hearken / hear) to you.

You shall baqash (seek) me, and matzaa (find) me, when you shall darash (search) for me with all your labab (heart).

I will be matzaa (found) by you,” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), “and I will shawab (turn back / repent) again your shabawath (captivity), and I will qabatz (gather) you from all the gawayam (nations), and from all the maqawamawath (places) where I have nadach (driven) you, naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (); and I will shawab (turn back / repent) you again to the maqawam (place) from where I caused you to be galah (carried) away captive.”

Because you have amar (spoke), “Yahawah () has qawam (rise up) us up nabaayam (prophets) in Babal (Babylon);”

Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () concerning the malak (king) who yashab (inhabit/dwell) on the kasaa (throne) of Dawad (David), and concerning all the im (nation / people) who yashab (inhabit/dwell) in this iyar (city), your ach (brother/kinsman) who haven't yatzaa (go out / come out) forth with you into gawalah (captivity);

Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies); “Behold, I will shalach (send) on them the charab (sword), the raib (famine), and the dabar (word / matter), and will nathan (give) them like shair (vile) thaanayam (figs), that can't be akal (eat), they are so rai (bad).

I will radap (pursue) achar (other) them with the charab (sword), with the raib (famine), and with the dabar (word / matter), and will nathan (give) them to be tossed back and forth among all the mamalakawath (kingdoms) of the aratz (Earth/land), to be an object of horror, and an shamah (astonishment), and a sharaqah (hissing), and a charapah (reproach), among all the gawayam (heathen) where I have nadach (driven) them;

Because they have not shamai (hearken / hear) to my dabar (word / matter),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), “with which I shalach (send) to them my ibad (servant) the nabaayam (prophets), shakam (rising) up early and shalach (send) them; but you would not shamai (hearken / hear),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().

Shamai (hearken / hear) therefore the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah (), all you of the gawalah (captivity), whom I have shalach (send) away from Yarawashalam (Jerusalem) to Babal (Babylon).

Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), concerning Achaab (Ahab) the ban (son) of Qawalayah (Kolaiah), and concerning Tzadaqayah (Zedekiah) the ban (son) of Maishayah (Maaseiah), who nabaa (prophesy) a shaqar (lie) to you in my sham (name): “Behold, I will nathan (give) them into the yad (hand) of Nabawakadanaatzar (Nebuchadnezzar) malak (king) of Babal (Babylon); and he shall nakah (kill) them before your iyan (eye);

And of them shall be laqach (take / seize) up a qalalah (curse) by all the galawath (captives) of Yahawadah (Judah) who are in Babal (Babylon), amar (spoke), ‘Yahawah () shawam (place / establish / appoint) you like Tzadaqayah (Zedekiah) and like Achaab (Ahab), whom the malak (king) of Babal (Babylon) qalah (roasted) in the ash (fire);’

Because they ishah (make) worked nabalah (folly) in Yashar-Al (Israel), and ishah (make) committed naap (adultery) with their neighbors’ wives, and have dabar (word / matter) dabar (word / matter) in my sham (name) falsely, which I didn't tzawah (command) them; and I am he who yadai (knows), and am id (until / as far as),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().

Concerning Shamaiyah (Shemaiah) the nachalamay (nehelamite) you shall amar (said), amar (said),

“Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), amar (spoke), ‘Because you have shalach (send) saparayam (letters) in your own sham (name) to all the im (nation / people) who are at Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), and to Tzapanayah (Zephaniah) the ban (son) of Maishayah (Maaseiah), the kahan (priest), and to all the kahanayam (priests), amar (spoke),

“Yahawah () nathan (give) made you kahan (priest) in the place of Yahawayadai (Jehoiada) the kahan (priest), that there may be officers in the bayath (house) of Yahawah (), for every ayash (man / husband) who is shagai (mad), and makes himself a nabaa (prophet), that you should nathan (give) him in the tzayanaq (stocks) and in shackles.

Now therefore, why have you not gair (rebuked) Yaramayah (Jeremiah) of inathathay (anathoth), who makes himself a nabaa (prophet) to you,

Because he has shalach (send) to us in Babal (Babylon), amar (said), The captivity is arak (long): banah (build) bathayam (houses), and yashab (inhabit/dwell) in them; and natai (plant) ganawath (gardens), and akal (eat) their paray (fruit)?”’”

Tzapanayah (Zephaniah) the kahan (priest) qaraa (called) this sapar (book / scribed document) in the azanay (ears) of Yaramayah (Jeremiah) the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy).

Then came the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () to Yaramayah (Jeremiah), amar (spoke),

“Shalach (send) to all them of the gawalah (captivity), amar (spoke), ‘Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () concerning Shamaiyah (Shemaiah) the nachalamay (nehelamite): “Because Shamaiyah (Shemaiah) has nabaa (prophesied) to you, and I didn't shalach (send) him, and he has caused you to batach (trust) in a shaqar (lie);”

Therefore thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), “Behold, I will paqad (visit) Shamaiyah (Shemaiah) the nachalamay (nehelamite), and his zarai (seed); he shall not have a ayash (man / husband) to yashab (inhabit/dwell) thawak (midst) this im (nation / people), neither shall he raah (see) the tawab (good / proper function) that I will ishah (make) to my im (nation / people),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), “because he has dabar (word / matter) sarah (rebellion) against Yahawah ().”’”
