The dabar (word / matter) which came to Yaramayah (Jeremiah) from Yahawah () in the yamay (days) of Yahawayaqayam (Jehoiakim) the ban (son) of Yaashayah (Josiah), malak (king) of Yahawadah (Judah), amar (spoke),
“Halak (move) to the bayath (house) of the Rakah (Rechabites), and dabar (word / matter) to them, and bawaa (come) them into the bayath (house) of Yahawah (), into achad (one) of the rooms, and give them yayan (wine) to shaqah (drink).”
Then I laqach (take / seize) Yaazanayah (Jaazaniah) the ban (son) of Yaramayah (Jeremiah), the ban (son) of Chabatzanayah (Habazziniah), and his ach (brother/kinsman), and all his ban (son), and the whole bayath (house) of the Rakah (Rechabites);
And I bawaa (come) them into the bayath (house) of Yahawah (), into the room of the banay (sons) of Chanan (Hanan) the ban (son) of Yagadalayahaw (Igdaliah), the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam (), which was by the room of the sharayam (princes), which was mail (top/above) the room of Maishayah (Maaseiah) the ban (son) of Shalawam (Shallum), the keeper of the sap (threshold).
I nathan (give) panayam (face) the banay (my son) of the bayath (house) of the Rakah (Rechabites) bowls malaa (full) of yayan (wine), and kasawath (cups); and I amar (said) to them, “shathah (drinks) yayan (wine)!”
But they amar (said), “We will shathah (drinks) no yayan (wine); for Yawanadab (Jonadab) the ban (son) of Rakab (Rechab), our ab (father), tzawah (commanded) us, amar (said), ‘You shall shathah (drinks) no yayan (wine), neither you, nor your ban (son), iwalam (eternity):
Neither shall you banah (build) bayath (house), nor zarai (sow) zarai (seed), nor natai (plant) karam (vineyard), nor have any; but all your yamayam (days) you shall yashab (inhabit/dwell) in ahalayam (tents); that you may chayah (live) many yamayam (days) in the adamah (land) in which you live.’
We have shamai (hearken / hear) the qawal (sound / voice) of Yahawanadab (Jonadab) the ban (son) of Rakab (Rechab), our ab (father), in all that he tzawah (commanded) us, to shathah (drinks) no yayan (wine) all our yawam (day), we, our wives, our ban (son), or our banath (daughter);
Nor to banah (build) bathayam (houses) for us to yashab (inhabit/dwell) in; neither have we karam (vineyard), nor shadah (field), nor zarai (seed):
But we have lived in ahalayam (tents), and have shamai (hearken / hear), and ishah (make) according to all that Yawanadab (Jonadab) our ab (father) tzawah (commanded) us.
But it happened, when Nabawakadanaatzar (Nebuchadnezzar) malak (king) of Babal (Babylon) ilah (go up / offer) up into the aratz (Earth/land), that we amar (said), ‘bawaa (bring), and bawaa (bring) us go to Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem) for panayam (face) of the chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor) of the Kashaday (Chaldeans), and for panayam (face) of the chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor) of the Aram (Syrians); so we yashab (inhabit/dwell) at Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem).’”
Then came the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () to Yaramayah (Jeremiah), amar (spoke),
“Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel): ‘halak (move), and amar (spoke) the ayash (man / husband) of Yahawadah (Judah) and the yawashabay (inhabitants) of Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), “Will you not laqach (take / seize) mawasar (instruction) to shamai (hearken / hear) to my dabar (word / matter)?” Naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().
“The dabaray (words) of Yahawanadab (Jonadab) the ban (son) of Rakab (Rechab), that he tzawah (commanded) his ban (son), not to shathah (drinks) yayan (wine), are qawam (rise up); and to this yawam (day) they shathah (drinks) none, for they shamai (hearken / hear) their ab (father) matzawah (commandment): but I have dabar (word / matter) to you, shakam (rising) up early and dabar (word / matter); and you have not shamai (hearken / hear) to me.
I have shalach (send) also to you all my ibad (servant) the nabaayam (prophets), shakam (rising) up early and shalach (send) them, amar (spoke), ‘shawab (turn back / repent) now every ayash (man / husband) from his rai (evil) darak (way), and yatab (amend) your mailal (doings), and don't yalak (go) achar (other) other Alahayam () to ibad (servant) them, and you shall yashab (inhabit/dwell) in the adamah (land) which I nathan (give) given to you and to your ab (father):’ but you have not natah (inclined) your azan (ear), nor shamai (hearken / hear) to me.
Because the banay (my son) of Yahawanadab (Jonadab) the ban (son) of Rakab (Rechab) have qawam (rise up) the matzawah (commandment) of their ab (father) which he tzawah (commanded) them, but this im (nation / people) has not shamai (hearken / hear) to me;”’
“Therefore thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of tzabaawath (armies), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel): ‘Behold, I will bawaa (come) on Yahawadah (Judah) and on all the yawashabay (inhabitants) of Yarawashalam (Jerusalem) all the rai (evil) that I have dabar (word / matter) against them; because I have dabar (word / matter) to them, but they have not shamai (hearken / hear); and I have qaraa (called) to them, but they have not inah (answer / respond).’”
Yaramayah (Jeremiah) amar (spoke) to the bayath (house) of the Rakah (Rechabites), “Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel): ‘Because you have shamai (hearken / hear) the matzawah (commandment) of Yahawanadab (Jonadab) your ab (father), and shamar (keep/guard) all his matzawah (precepts), and ishah (make) according to all that he tzawah (commanded) you;’
Therefore thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel): ‘Yawanadab (Jonadab) the ban (son) of Rakab (Rechab) shall not karath (cut) a ayash (man / husband) to imad (stand) panayam (face) me yawam (day).’”
