“If you will shawab (turn back / repent), Yashar-Al (Israel),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), “if you will shawab (turn back / repent) to me, and if you will sawar (put) away your shaqawatz (abominations) out of my panayam (face); then you shall not be nawad (removed);
And you shall shabai (swear / take oath), ‘As Yahawah () chay (life),’ in amath (truth), in mashapat (justice), and in tzadaqah (righteousness). The gawayam (nations) shall barak (blessed) themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.”
For thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () to the ayash (man / husband) of Yahawadah (Judah) and to Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), “nayar (break) up your fallow nayar (ground), and don't zarai (sow) among qawatzayam (thorns).
Mawal (circumcise) yourselves to Yahawah (), and sawar (take) away the iralawath (foreskins) of your labab (heart), you ayash (man / husband) of Yahawadah (Judah) and yashabay (inhabitants) of Yarawashalam (Jerusalem); lest my chamah (wrath) yatzaa (go out / come out) forth like ash (fire), and bair (burn) so that none can kabah (quench) it, panayam (face) of the rai (evil) of your mailal (doings).
Nagad (declare) in Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), and shamai (hearken / hear) in Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem); and amar (said), ‘thaqai (blow / sound alarm) the shawapar (Shofar / Ram's horn) in the aratz (Earth/land)!’ Qaraa (called) aloud and amar (said), ‘asap (assemble) yourselves! Bawaa (bring) us go into the fortified iray (cities)!’
Nashaa (lift) up a nas (standard) toward Tzayawan (Zion). Iwaz (flee) for safety! Don't wait; for I will bawaa (bring) rai (evil) from the tzapawan (north), and a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) shabar (destruction).”
A aray (lion) is ilah (go up / offer) up from his sabak (thicket), and a destroyer of gawayam (heathen); he is on his nasai (way), he is yatzaa (go out / come out) forth from his maqawam (place), to shawam (place / establish / appoint) your aratz (Earth/land) shamah (desolate), that your iyar (cities) be natzah (laid) waste, without yashab (inhabit/dwell).
For this clothe yourself with sackcloth, sapad (lament) and wail; for the charawan (fierce) ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) of Yahawah () hasn't shawab (turn back / repent) back from us.
“It shall happen at that yawam (day),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah (), “that the lab (heart) of the malak (king) shall abad (destroy / perish), and the lab (heart) of the sharayam (princes); and the kahanayam (priests) shall be shamam (astonished), and the nabayaayam (prophets) shall thamah (wonder).”
Then I amar (spoke), “ahah (ah), Adanay () Yahawah ()! Akan (surely) you have nashaa (lift) nashaa (lift) this im (nation / people) and Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), amar (spoke), ‘You shall have shalawam (peace / safety);’ whereas the charab (sword) reaches to the napash (soul).”
At that ith (time) shall it be amar (said) to this im (nation / people) and to Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem), “A hot rawach (spirit / wind) from the bare heights in the madabar (wilderness) darak (toward) the banath (daughter) of my im (nation / people), not to zarah (winnow), nor to barar (cleanse);
A malaa (full) rawach (spirit / wind) from these shall bawaa (bring) for me. Now I will also dabar (word / matter) mashapatayam (judgments) against them.”
Behold, he shall ilah (go up / offer) up as inanayam (clouds), and his marakabah (chariots) shall be as the sawapah (whirlwind): his sawas (horses) are qalal (swifter) than nasharayam (eagles). Away (woe) to us! For we are ruined.
Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem), kabas (wash) your lab (heart) from rai (wickedness), that you may be yashai (salvation). How long shall your awan (evil) machashabawath (thoughts) lawan (lodge) qarab (among / near) you?
For a qawal (sound / voice) nagad (declares) from Dan (Dan), and publishes awan (evil) from the Aparayam (hills) of Aparayam (Ephraim):
“Tell the gawayam (heathen); behold, shamai (hearken / hear) against Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem), ‘natzarayam (watchers) bawaa (bring) from a marachaq (far) aratz (Earth/land), and raise their qawal (sound / voice) against the iray (cities) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah).
As keepers of a shadah (field), they are against her all around, because she has been rebellious against me,’” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().
“Your darak (way) and your mailal (doings) ishah (make) brought these things to you. This is your rai (wickedness); for it is mar (bitter), for it reaches to your lab (heart).”
My anguish, my anguish! I am chawal (pained) at my very lab (heart); my lab (heart) is hamah (great uproar) in me; I can't hold my charash (peace); because you have shamai (hearken / hear), O my napash (soul), the qawal (sound / voice) of the shawapar (Shofar / Ram's horn), the tharawaih (alarm) of malachamah (war).
Shabar (destruction) on shabar (destruction) is qaraa (called); for the whole aratz (Earth/land) is laid shadad (waste): pathaawam (suddenly) are my ahal (tents) shadad (destroyed), and my yarayaih (curtains) in a ragai (in an instance).
How long shall I raah (see / saw) the nas (standard), and shamai (hearken / hear) the qawal (sound / voice) of the shawapar (Shofar / Ram's horn)?
“For my im (nation / people) are awayal (foolish), they don't yadai (know) me. They are sakal (foolish) banayam (children), and they have no bayan (between). They are skillful in doing raii (wicked / dysfunctional / evil), but to do yatab (good) they have no yadai (knowledge).”
I raah (see / saw) the aratz (Earth/land), and, behold, it was thahaw (formless) and bahaw (void); and the shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens), and they had no awar (light).
I raah (see / saw) the harayam (mountains), and behold, they raish (trembled), and all the gabaiwath (hills) qalal (moved) back and forth.
I raah (see / saw), and behold, there was no adam (man), and all the iwap (flying) of the sky had nadad (fled).
I raah (see), and behold, the karamal (fruitful) field was a madabar (wilderness), and all its iyar (cities) were nathatz (broken) down at the panayam (face) of Yahawah (), before his charawan (fierce) ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting).
For thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), “The whole aratz (Earth/land) shall be a shamamah (desolation); yet will I not ishah (make) a kalah (complete / finish) end.
For this the aratz (Earth/land) will abal (mourn), and the shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens) mail (top/above) be qadar (black); because I have dabar (word / matter) it, I have zamam (purposed) it, and I have not nacham (turn away / repent), neither will I shawab (turn) back from it.”
Every iyar (city) barach (flees) for the qawal (sound / voice) of the horsemen and qashath (archers); they bawaa (bring) into the ibayam (thickets), and ilah (go up / offer) up on the kapayam (rocks): every iyar (city) is forsaken, and not a ayash (man / husband) yashab (inhabit/dwell) therein.
You, when you are made desolate, what will you ishah (make)? Though you labash (clothe) yourself with shanay (second), though you idah (deck) you with iday (ornament / adornment) of zahab (gold), though you enlarge your iyan (eye) with pawak (paint), in shawaa (vanity) do you make yourself yapah (beautiful); your igabayam (lovers) maas (despise) you, they baqash (seek) your napash (soul).
For I have shamai (hearken / hear) a qawal (sound / voice) as of a chalah (afflict) in travail, the tzarah (anguish) as of her who brings forth her bakar (first) child, the qawal (sound / voice) of the banath (daughter) of Tzayawan (Zion), who gasps for breath, who parash (spreads) her kap (hands), saying, “away (woe) is me now! For my napash (soul) faints before the haragayam (murderers).”
