Jeremiah 6 — Novel English Bible

“Iwaz (flee) for safety, you banay (my son) of Banayamayan (Benjamin), out of the qarab (among / near) of Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem), and thaqai (blow / sound alarm) the shawapar (Shofar / Ram's horn) in Thaqawai (Tekoa), and nashaa (lift) up a signal on Bayathahakaram (Beth Haccherem); for rai (evil) shaqap (looks) forth from the tzapawan (north), and a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) shabar (destruction).

The naawah (comely) and inag (delicate) one, the banath (daughter) of Tzayawan (Zion), will I cut off.

Raiyam (shepherds) with their idar (flocks) shall bawaa (bring) to her; they shall thaqai (blow / sound alarm) their ahalayam (tents) against her all around; they shall raih (feed) everyone in his place.”

“Qadash (set apart / make holy) malachamah (war) against her; qawam (rise up), and let us ilah (go up / offer) up at tzahar (noon). Away (woe) to us! For the yawam (day) declines, for the tzalalay (shadows) of the irab (evening) are natah (stretched) out.

Qawam (rise up), and let us ilah (go up / offer) up by layal (night), and let us shachath (destroy) her aramawan (palaces).”

For Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies) amar (spoke), “karath (cut) down itzah (trees), and shapak (cast) up a mound against Yarawashalam (Jerusalem): this is the iyar (city) to be paqad (visit); she is wholly ishaq (oppression) in the qarab (among / near) of her.

As a bawar (well) qawar (casts) forth its mayam (Waters), so she qawar (casts) forth her rai (wickedness): chamas (violence) and shad (destruction) is shamai (hearken / hear) in her; panayam (face) me continually is chalay (sickness) and makah (wounds).

Be yasar (instructed), Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem), lest my napash (soul) be yaqai (alienated) from you; lest I shawam (place / establish / appoint) you a shamamah (desolation), a aratz (Earth/land) not yashab (inhabit/dwell).”

Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies), “They shall ilal (thoroughly) ilal (glean) the shaarayath (remnant) of Yashar-Al (Israel) like a gapan (vine). Shawab (turn back / repent) again your yad (hand) as a grape batzar (gatherer) into the salasalawath (baskets).”

To whom shall I dabar (word / matter) and testify, that they may shamai (hearken / hear)? Behold, their azan (ear) is iral (uncircumcised), and they can't listen. Behold, the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () has become a charapah (reproach) to them. They chapatz (have) no delight in it.

Therefore I am malaa (full) of the chamah (wrath) of Yahawah (). I am laah (weary) with kawal (all) in. “Shapak (pour) it out on the iwalal (children) in the chawatz (street), and on the sawad (assembly) of bachawar (young) men yachad (together); for even the ayash (man / husband) with the ayashah (woman / wife) shall be lakad (taken), the zaqan (aged) with him who is malaa (full) of yamayam (days).

Their bayath (house) shall be sabab (turned) to others, their shadawath (fields) and their wives yachad (together); for I will natah (stretch) out my yad (hand) on the yashabay (inhabitants) of the aratz (Earth/land), naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().”

“For from their qatan (small / young / least) even to their greatest, everyone is batzai (given) to batzai (covetousness); and from the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) even to the kahan (priest), everyone ishah (make) falsely.

They have rapaa (healed) also the shabar (hurt) of my im (nation / people) superficially, amar (said), ‘shalawam (peace / safety), shalawam (peace / safety)!’ When there is no shalawam (peace / safety).

Were they yabash (dry land) when they ishah (make) committed thawaibah (abomination)? No, they were not at all bawash (ashamed), gam (indeed / moreover) yadai (could) they kalam (blush). Therefore they shall napal (fall / be cast down) among those who napal (fall / be cast down); at the ith (time) that I paqad (visit) them, they shall be kashal (stumble / stagger) down,” amar (spoke) Yahawah ().

Thus yaamaraw (says) Yahawah (), “imad (stand) in the darakayam (ways) and raah (see), and shaal (ask) for the iwalam (forever) nathabawath (paths), ‘Where is the tawab (good / proper function) darak (way)?’ And yalak (walk) in it, and you will matzaa (find) maragawai (rest) for your napash (soul). But they amar (spoke), ‘We will not yalak (walk) in it.’

I qawam (rise up) watchmen over you, saying, ‘Listen to the qawal (sound / voice) of the shawapar (Shofar / Ram's horn)!’ But they amar (said), ‘We will not listen!’

Therefore shamai (hearken / hear), you gawayam (heathen), and yadai (know), idah (congregation), what is among them.

Shamai (hearken / hear), aratz (Earth/land)! Behold, I will bawaa (bring) rai (evil) on this im (nation / people), even the paray (fruit) of their machashabah (thoughts), because they have not listened to my dabar (word / matter); and as for my thawarah (Torah / Instruction), they have maas (rejected) it.

To what purpose bawaa (bring) there to me labawanah (frankincense) from Shabaa (Sheba), and the tawab (good / proper function) qanah (cane) from a marachaq (far) aratz (Earth/land)? Your burnt ilah (offerings) are not ratzawan (acceptable), nor your zabach (sacrifices) irab (evening) to me.”

Therefore thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), “Behold, I will nathan (give) makashawal (stumbling) blocks before this im (nation / people). The abawath (fathers) and the banayam (sons) yachad (together) shall kashal (stumble / stagger) against them. The neighbor and his rai (neigbor/another person) shall abad (destroy / perish).”

Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), “Behold, a im (nation / people) bawaa (come) from the tzapawan (north) aratz (Earth/land). A gadawal (very great/important/mighty) gaway (heathen / nation) shall be iwar (rouse / awaken) up from the uttermost yarakathay (parts) of the aratz (Earth/land).

They chazaq (take) hold of qashath (bow) and kayadawan (spear). They are akazaray (cruel), and have no racham (show mercy / love). Their qawal (sound / voice) hamah (great uproar) like the yam (sea/waters), and they rakab (ride) on sawasayam (horses), everyone irak (set) in array, as a ayash (man / husband) to the malachamah (battle), against you, banath (daughter) of Tzayawan (Zion).”

We have shamai (hearken / hear) its report; our yad (hand) become rapah (feeble): tzarah (anguish) has chazaq (taken) hold of us, and chayal (pains) as of a yalad (birth / begot) in labor.

Don't yatzaa (go out / come out) forth into the shadah (field), nor yalak (walk) by the darak (way); for the charab (sword) of the ayab (enemy) and magawar (terror), are on sabayab (surrounding) side.

Banath (daughter) of my im (nation / people), clothe yourself with sackcloth, and wallow in ashes! Mourn, as for an only yachayad (son), most thamarawar (bitter) masapad (lamentation); for the shadad (destroyer) shall pathaawam (suddenly) bawaa (bring) on us.

“I nathan (give) made you a tester of metals and a mabatzar (fortress) among my im (nation / people); that you may yadai (know) and bachan (try) their darak (way).

They are all sawar (grievous) rebels, halak (move) about with rakayal (slanders); they are nachashath (brass) and barazal (iron): they all of them deal corruptly.

The mapach (bellows) blow fiercely; the iwaparath (lead) is consumed of the Ayashah (woman / wife): in shawaa (vanity) do they go on tzarap (refining); for the rai (wicked) are not nathaq (plucked) away.

Men will qaraa (called) them maas (rejected) kasap (silver), because Yahawah () has maas (rejected) them.”
