Ezekiel 20 — Novel English Bible

It happened in the shabayaiy (seventh) shanah (year), in the chamayashay (fifth) month, the ishawar (tenth) day of the chadash (month), that ayash (man / husband) of the zaqanay (elders) of Yashar-Al (Israel) bawaa (come) to darash (inquire) of Yahawah (), and yashab (inhabit/dwell) panayam (face) me.

The dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () came to me, amar (spoke),

“Ban (son) of adam (man), dabar (word / matter) to the zaqanay (elders) of Yashar-Al (Israel), and amar (spoke) them, ‘Thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “Is it to darash (inquire) of me that you bawaa (come) come? As I chay (life),” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah (), “I will not be darash (inquired) of by you.”’

“Will you shapat (judge / judgement) them, ban (son) of adam (man), will you shapat (judge / judgement) them? Yadai (cause) them to know the thawaibath (abominations) of their ab (father);

And amar (spoke) them, ‘Thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “In the yawam (day) when I bachar (chose) Yashar-Al (Israel), and yad (hand) to the zarai (seed) of the bayath (house) of Yaiqab (Jacob), and yadai (made) myself known to them in the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt), when I yad (hand) to them, amar (spoke), ‘I am Yahawah () your Alahayam ();’

In that yawam (day) I yad (hand) to them, to yatzaa (go out / come out) them forth out of the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt) into a aratz (Earth/land) that I had thawar (searched) out for them, zawab (flow) with chalab (milk) and dabash (honey), which is the glory of all aratzawath (lands).

I amar (spoke) to them, ‘shalak (cast) away every ayash (man / husband) the shaqawatzay (abominations) of his iyan (eye), and don't tamaa (defile) yourselves with the galawalay (idols) of Matzarayam (Egypt); I am Yahawah () your Alahayam ().’

“‘“But they marah (rebelled) against me, and would not shamai (hearken / hear) to me; they ayash (man / husband) didn't shalak (throw) away the shaqawatzay (abominations) of their iyan (eye), neither did they izab (forsake) the galawalay (idols) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt). Then I amar (said) I would shapak (pour) out my chamah (wrath) on them, to kalah (complete / finish) my ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) against them in the thawak (midst) of the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt).

But I ishah (make) for my sham (name) sake, that it should not be chalal (profaned) in the iyan (eye) of the gawayam (heathen), thawak (midst) which they were, in whose iyan (eye) I yadai (made) myself known to them, in yatzaa (go out / come out) them forth out of the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt).

So I yatzaa (go out / come out) them to go forth out of the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt), and bawaa (bring) them into the madabar (wilderness).

I nathan (give) them my chaqah (statutes), and showed them my mashapat (ordinances), which if a adam (man) ishah (make), he shall chayay (life) in them.

Moreover also I nathan (give) them my shabath (shabath / rest), to be a awath (sign / mark / miracle) between me and them, that they might yadai (know) that I am Yahawah () who qadash (set apart / make holy) them.

“‘“But the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel) marah (rebelled) against me in the madabar (wilderness): they didn't halak (move) in my chaqah (statutes), and they maas (rejected) my mashapat (ordinances), which if a adam (man) ishah (make), he shall chayay (life) in them; and my shabath (shabath / rest) they maad (greatly) chalal (profaned). Then I amar (said) I would shapak (pour) out my chamah (wrath) on them in the madabar (wilderness), to kalah (complete / finish) them.

But I ishah (make) for my sham (name) sake, that it should not be chalal (profaned) in the iyan (eye) of the gawayam (heathen), in whose iyan (eye) I yatzaa (go out / come out) them out.

Moreover also I yad (hand) to them in the madabar (wilderness), that I would not bawaa (bring) them into the aratz (Earth/land) which I nathan (give) given them, zawab (flow) with chalab (milk) and dabash (honey), which is the glory of all aratzawath (lands);

Because they maas (rejected) my mashapat (ordinances), and didn't halak (move) in my chaqah (statutes), and chalal (profaned) my shabath (shabath / rest): for their lab (heart) halak (move) achar (other) their galawal (idols).

Nevertheless my iyan (eye) chawas (spared) them, and I didn't shachath (destroy) them, neither ishah (make) I make a kalah (complete / finish) end of them in the madabar (wilderness).

I amar (said) to their ban (son) in the madabar (wilderness), ‘Don't yalak (walk) in the chawaqay (statutes) of your ab (father), neither shamar (keep/guard) their mashapat (ordinances), nor tamaa (defile) yourselves with their galawal (idols).

I am Yahawah () your Alahayam (): yalak (walk) in my chaqah (statutes), and shamar (keep/guard) my mashapat (ordinances), and ishah (make) them;

And make my shabath (shabath / rest) qadash (set apart / make holy); and they shall be a awath (sign / mark / miracle) between me and you, that you may yadai (know) that I am Yahawah () your Alahayam ().’

“‘“But the banayam (children) marah (rebelled) against me; they didn't halak (move) in my chaqah (statutes), neither shamar (keep/guard) my mashapat (ordinances) to ishah (make) them, which if a adam (man) ishah (make), he shall chayay (life) in them; they chalal (profaned) my shabath (shabath / rest). Then I amar (said) I would shapak (pour) out my chamah (wrath) on them, to kalah (complete / finish) my ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) against them in the madabar (wilderness).

Nevertheless I shawab (turn) my yad (hand), and ishah (make) for my sham (name) sake, that it should not be chalal (profaned) in the iyan (eye) of the gawayam (heathen), in whose iyan (eye) I yatzaa (go out / come out) them forth.

Moreover I yad (hand) to them in the madabar (wilderness), that I would pawatz (scatter) them among the gawayam (heathen), and zarah (disperse) them through the aratzawath (countries);

Because they ishah (make) not executed my mashapat (ordinances), but had maas (rejected) my chaqah (statutes), and had chalal (profaned) my shabath (shabath / rest), and their iyan (eye) were achar (other) their ab (father)’ galawalay (idols).

Moreover also I nathan (give) them chaqayam (statutes) that were not tawab (good / proper function), and mashapatayam (ordinances) in which they should not chayah (live);

And I tamaa (polluted) them in their own mathanah (gifts), in that they ibar (pass over/through) to pass through the fire all that patar (opens) the racham (show mercy / love), that I might shamam (make) them desolate, to the end that they might yadai (know) that I am Yahawah ().”’

“Therefore, ban (son) of adam (man), dabar (word / matter) to the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel), and amar (spoke) them, ‘Thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “In this moreover have your ab (father) gadap (blasphemed) me, in that they have mail (top/above) a mail (top/above) against me.

For when I bawaa (bring) brought them into the aratz (Earth/land), which I yad (hand) to nathan (give) to them, then they raah (see / saw) every rawam (will lift up) gabaih (hill), and every ibath (thick) itz (tree), and they zabach (offered) there their zabach (sacrifices), and there they presented the kais (provocation) of their zabach (offering); there also they shawam (place / establish / appoint) their pleasant aroma, and they nasak (poured) out there their drink nasak (offerings).

Then I amar (said) to them, ‘What does the bamah (high) place where you bawaa (bring) mean?’ So its sham (name) is qaraa (called) Bamah (Bamah) to this yawam (day).”’

“Therefore amar (spoke) the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel), ‘Thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “Do you tamaa (pollute) yourselves in the darak (way) of your ab (father)? And do you zanah (play) the prostitute achar (other) their shaqawatz (abominations)?

And when you offer your mathanah (gifts), when you make your ban (son) to ibar (pass over/through) through the ash (fire), do you tamaa (pollute) yourselves with all your galawal (idols) to this yawam (day)? And shall I be darash (inquired) of by you, bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel)? As I chay (life), naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah (), I will not be darash (inquired) of by you;

“‘“And that which ilah (go up / offer) into your rawach (spirit / wind) shall not be at all, in that you amar (said), ‘We will be as the gawayam (heathen), as the mashapachawath (families) of the aratzawath (countries), to sharath (serve) itz (wood) and aban (stone).’

As I chay (life), naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah (), surely with a chazaq (mighty) yad (hand), and with an natah (outstretched) zarawai (arm), and with chamah (wrath) poured out, will I be malak (king) over you:

And I will yatzaa (go out / come out) you out from the imayam (peoples), and will qabatz (gather) you out of the aratzawath (countries) in which you are pawatz (scattered), with a chazaq (mighty) yad (hand), and with an natah (outstretched) zarawai (arm), and with chamah (wrath) shapak (poured) out;

And I will bawaa (bring) you into the madabar (wilderness) of the imayam (peoples), and there will I enter into shapat (judge / judgement) with you panayam (face) to panayam (face).

Like as I entered into shapat (judge / judgement) with your ab (father) in the madabar (wilderness) of the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt), so will I enter into shapat (judge / judgement) with you,” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().

“I will ibar (pass over/through) you to pass under the shabat (rod), and I will bawaa (bring) you into the masarath (bond) of the barayath (covenant);

And I will barar (purge) out from among you the maradayam (rebels), and those who disobey against me; I will yatzaa (go out / come out) them forth out of the aratz (Earth/land) magawar (where) they live, but they shall not bawaa (come) into the adamah (land) of Yashar-Al (Israel): and you shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah ().”

“‘As for you, bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel), thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): yalak (go), “ibad (servant) everyone his galawal (idols), and achar (other) also, if you will not shamai (hearken / hear) to me; but my qadash (set apart / make holy) sham (name) you shall no more chalal (profane) with your mathanah (gifts), and with your galawal (idols).

For in my qadash (set apart / make holy) har (mountain), in the har (mountain) of the marawam (height) of Yashar-Al (Israel),” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah (), “there shall all the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel), all of them, ibad (servant) me in the aratz (Earth/land): there will I ratzah (accept) them, and there will I darash (require) your tharawamah (offerings), and the raashayath (beginning) fruits of your mashaath (offerings), with all your qadash (set apart / make holy) things.

As a pleasant aroma will I ratzah (accept) you, when I yatzaa (go out / come out) you out from the imayam (peoples), and qabatz (gather) you out of the aratzawath (countries) in which you have been pawatz (scattered); and I will be qadash (set apart / make holy) in you in the sight of the gawayam (heathen).

You shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah (), when I shall bawaa (come) you into the adamah (land) of Yashar-Al (Israel), into the aratz (Earth/land) which I yad (hand) to nathan (give) to your ab (father).

There you shall zakar (remember) your darak (ways), and all your ilayalah (doings), in which you have tamaa (polluted) yourselves; and you shall qawat (loathe) yourselves in your own panayam (face) for all your rai (evils) that you ishah (make) committed.

You shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah (), when I ishah (make) dealt with you for my sham (name) sake, not according to your rai (evil) darak (ways), nor according to your shachath (corrupt) ilayalah (doings), you bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel),” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().’”

The dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () came to me, amar (spoke),

Ban (son) of adam (man), shawam (place / establish / appoint) your panayam (face) toward Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), and natap (drop) your word toward the sanctuaries, and nabaa (prophesy) against the shadah (land) of Yashar-Al (Israel);

And amar (spoke) the land of Yashar-Al (Israel), Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (): Behold, I am against you, and will draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked.

Kay (surely) then that I will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword kabah (go) forth out of its sheath against all bashar (flesh) from the south to the north:

And all flesh shall know that I, Yahawah (), have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath; it shall not return any more.
