Ezekiel 33 — Novel English Bible

The dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () came to me, amar (spoke),

“Ban (son) of adam (man), dabar (word / matter) to the banay (my son) of your im (nation / people), and amar (said) them, ‘When I bawaa (bring) the charab (sword) on a aratz (Earth/land), and the im (nation / people) of the aratz (Earth/land) laqach (take / seize) a ayash (man / husband) from among them, and nathan (give) him for their tzapah (watchman / keep watch);

If, when he raah (see / saw) the charab (sword) bawaa (bring) on the aratz (Earth/land), he thaqai (blow / sound alarm) the shawapar (Shofar / Ram's horn), and zahar (warn) the im (nation / people);

Then whoever shamai (hearken / hear) the qawal (sound / voice) of the shawapar (Shofar / Ram's horn), and doesn't take zahar (warn), if the charab (sword) bawaa (bring), and laqach (take / seize) him away, his dam (blood) shall be on his own raash (head).

He shamai (hearken / hear) the qawal (sound / voice) of the shawapar (Shofar / Ram's horn), and didn't take zahar (warn); his dam (blood) shall be on him; whereas if he had taken zahar (warn), he would have malat (delivered) his napash (soul).

But if the tzapah (watchman / keep watch) raah (see / saw) the charab (sword) bawaa (bring), and doesn't thaqai (blow / sound alarm) the shawapar (Shofar / Ram's horn), and the im (nation / people) aren't zahar (warn), and the charab (sword) bawaa (bring), and laqach (take / seize) any napash (soul) from among them; he is laqach (take / seize) away in his iwan (guilt/iniquity), but his dam (blood) will I darash (require) at the tzapah (watchman / keep watch) yad (hand).’

“So you, ban (son) of adam (man), I nathan (give) set you a tzapah (watchman / keep watch) to the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel); therefore shamai (hearken / hear) the dabar (word / matter) at my pah (mouth), and give them zahar (warn) from me.

When I amar (said) the rashai (wicked), ‘O rashai (wicked) mawath (death), you shall surely mawath (death),’ and you don't dabar (word / matter) to zahar (warn) the rashai (wicked) from his darak (way); that rashai (wicked) mawath (death) shall die in his iwan (guilt/iniquity), but his dam (blood) will I baqash (require) at your yad (hand).

Nevertheless, if you zahar (warn) the rashai (wicked) of his darak (way) to shawab (turn) from it, and he doesn't shawab (turn) from his darak (way); he shall mawath (death) in his iwan (guilt/iniquity), but you have natzal (delivered) your napash (soul).

“You, ban (son) of adam (man), amar (said) the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel): ‘Thus you amar (said), amar (said), “Our pashai (transgressions) and our chataah (sin) are on us, and we maqaq (pine) away in them; how then can we chayah (live)?”’

Amar (spoke) them, ‘“As I chay (life),” amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (), “I chapatz (have) no pleasure in the mawath (death) of the rashai (wicked); but that the rashai (wicked) shawab (turn back / repent) from his darak (way) and chayah (live): shawab (turn back / repent), shawab (turn back / repent) from your rai (evil) darak (ways); for why will you mawath (death), bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel)?”’

“You, ban (son) of adam (man), amar (said) the banay (my son) of your im (nation / people), ‘The tzadaqah (righteousness) of the tzadayaq (righteous) shall not natzal (deliver) him in the yawam (day) of his disobedience; and as for the rashaih (wickedness) of the rashai (wicked), he shall not kashal (stumble / stagger) thereby in the yawam (day) that he shawab (turn) from his rashai (wickedness); neither shall he who is tzadayaq (righteous) be yakal (able) to chayah (live) thereby in the yawam (day) that he chataa (sins).

When I amar (said) the tzadayaq (righteous), that he shall chayah (surely) chayah (live); if he batach (trust) to his tzadaqah (righteousness), and ishah (make) iwal (iniquity), none of his tzadaqah (righteousness) deeds shall be zakar (remember); but in his iwal (iniquity) that he ishah (make) committed, therein shall he mawath (death).

Again, when I amar (said) to the rashai (wicked), “You shall mawath (death) mawath (death);” if he shawab (turn) from his chataah (sin), and ishah (make) that which is mashapat (lawful) and tzadaqah (righteousness);

If the rashai (wicked) shawab (turn) the chabal (pledge), shalam (give) again that which he had taken by robbery, halak (move) in the chaqawath (statutes) of chay (life), ishah (make) no iwal (iniquity); he shall chayah (surely) chayah (live), he shall not mawath (death).

None of his chataah (sin) that he has chataa (committed) shall be zakar (remember) against him: he ishah (make) done that which is mashapat (lawful) and tzadaqah (righteousness); he shall chayah (surely) chayah (live).

“‘Yet the banay (children) of your im (nation / people) amar (spoke), “The darak (way) of the Adanay () is not thakan (equal):” but as for them, their darak (way) is not thakan (equal).

When the tzadayaq (righteous) shawab (turn) from his tzadaqah (righteousness), and ishah (make) iwal (iniquity), he shall even mawath (death) therein.

When the rashai (wicked) shawab (turn) from his rashaih (wickedness), and ishah (make) that which is mashapat (lawful) and tzadaqah (righteousness), he shall chayah (live) thereby.

Yet you amar (spoke), “The darak (way) of the Adanay () is not thakan (equal).” Bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel), I will shapat (judge / judgement) ayash (man / husband) one of you after his darak (ways).’”

It happened in the shanayam (two) shanah (year) of our galawath (captivity), in the ishayaray (tenth) month, in the chamash (fifth) day of the chadash (month), that one who had palayat (escaped) out of Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem) bawaa (bring) to me, amar (said), “The iyar (city) has been nakah (struck).”

Now the yad (hand) of Yahawah () had been on me in the irab (evening), panayam (face) he who was palayat (escaped) bawaa (come); and he pathach (had) opened my pah (mouth), until he bawaa (come) to me in the baqar (morning); and my pah (mouth) was pathach (opened), and I was no more mute.

The dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () came to me, amar (spoke),

“Ban (son) of adam (man), they who yashab (inhabit/dwell) those charabah (waste) places in the adamah (land) of Yashar-Al (Israel) amar (said), amar (said), ‘Abaraham (Abraham - Patriarch) was achad (one), and he yarash (inherited) the aratz (Earth/land): but we are many; the aratz (Earth/land) is nathan (give) us for mawarashah (inheritance).’

Therefore amar (spoke) them, ‘Thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “You akal (eat) with the dam (blood), and nashaa (lift) up your iyan (eye) to your galawal (idols), and shapak (shed) dam (blood): and shall you yarash (possess) the aratz (Earth/land)?

You imad (stand) on your charab (sword), you ishah (make) thawaibah (abomination), and ayash (man / husband) one of you tamaatham (defiles) his neighbor's ayashah (woman / wife): and shall you yarash (possess) the aratz (Earth/land)?”’

“You shall amar (spoke) them, ‘Thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “As I chay (life), surely those who are in the charabah (waste) places shall napal (fall / be cast down) by the charab (sword); and him who is in the panayam (face) shadah (field) will I nathan (give) to the animals to be akal (eat); and those who are in the strongholds and in the mairawath (caves) shall mawath (death) of the dabar (word / matter).

I will nathan (give) the aratz (Earth/land) a shamamah (desolation) and an astonishment; and the gaawan (pride) of her iz (strength / might / refuge) shall shabath (shabath / rest); and the haray (mountains) of Yashar-Al (Israel) shall be shamam (desolate), so that none shall ibar (pass over/through) through.

Then shall they yadai (know) that I am Yahawah (), when I nathan (give) made the aratz (Earth/land) a shamamah (desolation) and an astonishment, because of all their thawaibah (abominations) which they ishah (make) committed.”’

“As for you, ban (son) of adam (man), the banay (children) of your im (nation / people) dabar (word / matter) of you by the qayarawath (walls) and in the pathachay (doors) of the bathayam (houses), and dabar (word / matter) chad (one) to another, everyone to his ach (brother/kinsman), amar (spoke), ‘Please bawaa (come) and shamai (hearken / hear) what is the dabar (word / matter) that yatzaa (go out / come out) forth from Yahawah ().’

They bawaa (bring) to you as the im (nation / people) mabawaa (come), and they yashab (inhabit/dwell) panayam (face) you as my im (nation / people), and they shamai (hearken / hear) your dabar (word / matter), but don't ishah (make) them; for with their pah (mouth) they show much igab (love), but their lab (heart) halak (move) achar (other) their batzai (gain).

Behold, you are to them as a very igab (lovely) shayar (song) of one who has a yapah (pleasant) qawal (sound / voice), and can tawab (good / proper function) well on an nagan (instrument); for they shamai (hearken / hear) your dabar (word / matter), but they don't ishah (make) them.

“When this bawaa (bring) to pass, (behold, it bawaa (bring)), then shall they yadai (know) that a nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) has been thawak (midst) them.”
