Ezekiel 8 — Novel English Bible

It happened in the shashay (sixth) shanah (year), in the shashay (sixth) month, in the chamash (fifth) day of the chadash (month), as I yashab (inhabit/dwell) in my bayath (house), and the zaqanay (elders) of Yahawadah (Judah) yashab (inhabit/dwell) panayam (face) me, that the yad (hand) of the Adanay () Yahawah () napal (fall / be cast down) there on me.

Then I raah (see / saw), and behold, a damawath (likeness) as the maraah (appearance) of ash (fire); from the maraah (appearance) of his waist and matah (downward), ash (fire); and from his waist and upward, as the maraah (appearance) of zahar (brightness), as it were glowing metal.

He shalach (send) forth the thabanayath (form) of a yad (hand), and laqach (take / seize) me by a tzayatzath (lock) of my raash (head); and the rawach (spirit / wind) nashaa (lift) me up between aratz (Earth/land) and the sky, and bawaa (come) me in the maraawath (visions) of Alahayam () to Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), to the pathach (door) of the shair (gate) of the inner court that panah (turn) toward the tzapawan (north); where there was the mawashab (seat) of the samal (image) of qanaah (jealousy), which qanah (provokes) to jealousy.

Behold, the kabawad (glory) of the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel) was there, according to the maraah (appearance) that I raah (see) in the baqaih (plain).

Then he amar (said) to me, “ban (son) of adam (man), nashaa (lift) up your iyan (eye) now the darak (way) toward the tzapawan (north).” So I nashaa (lift) up my iyan (eye) the darak (way) toward the tzapawan (north), and see, northward of the shair (gate) of the mazabach (altar) this samal (image) of qanaah (jealousy) in the baah (entry).

He amar (said) to me, “ban (son) of adam (man), do you raah (see / saw) what they ishah (make)? Even the gadawal (very great/important/mighty) thawaibawath (abominations) that the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel) ishah (make) commit here, that I should rachaq (go) far off from my maqadash (sanctuary)? But you shall again raah (see / saw) yet other gadawal (very great/important/mighty) thawaibawath (abominations).”

He bawaa (bring) me to the pathach (door) of the chatzar (court); and when I raah (see / saw), behold, a chawar (hole) in the qayar (wall).

Then he amar (said) to me, “ban (son) of adam (man), chathar (dig) now in the qayar (wall):” and when I had chathar (dug) in the qayar (wall), behold, a pathach (door).

He amar (said) to me, “bawaa (bring) in, and raah (see / saw) the rai (wicked) thawaibawath (abominations) that they ishah (make) here.”

So I bawaa (bring) in and raah (see / saw); and see, every thabanayath (form) of ramash (creeping) things, and shaqatz (abominable) animals, and all the galawalay (idols) of the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel), chaqah (portrayed) around on the qayar (wall).

There imad (stood) panayam (face) them shabaiyam (seventy) ayash (man / husband) of the zaqanay (elders) of the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel); and in their thawak (midst) imad (stood) Yaazanayah (Jaazaniah) the ban (son) of Shapan (Shaphan), every ayash (man / husband) with his maqatarath (censer) in his yad (hand); and the odor of the inan (cloud) of qatarath (incense) ilah (go up / offer) up.

Then he amar (spoke) to me, “ban (son) of adam (man), raah (see) you seen what the zaqanay (elders) of the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel) ishah (make) in the chashak (darkness), every ayash (man / husband) in his rooms of mashakayath (idol / carved image)? For they amar (spoke), ‘Yahawah () doesn't raah (see) us; Yahawah () has forsaken the aratz (Earth/land).’”

He amar (said) also to me, “You shall again raah (see / saw) yet other gadawal (very great/important/mighty) thawaibawath (abominations) which they ishah (make).”

Then he bawaa (come) me to the pathach (door) of the shair (gate) of Yahawah () bayath (house) which was toward the tzapawan (north); and see, there yashab (inhabit/dwell) the nashayam (women) bakah (weeping) for Thamawaz (Tammuz).

Then he amar (said) to me, “raah (see / saw) you seen this, ban (son) of adam (man)? You shall again raah (see / saw) yet greater thawaibawath (abominations) than these.”

He bawaa (come) me into the inner chatzar (court) of Yahawah () bayath (house); and see, at the pathach (door) of the hayakal (temple) of Yahawah (), between the awalam (porch) and the mazabach (altar), were about isharayam (twenty) - chamash (five) ayash (man / husband), with their achawar (backs) toward the hayakal (temple) of Yahawah (), and their panayam (face) toward the qadam (east); and they were shachah (worshipping) the shamash (sun) toward the qadam (east).

Then he amar (said) to me, “raah (see / saw) you seen this, ban (son) of adam (man)? Is it a qalal (light) thing to the bayath (house) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) that they ishah (make) the thawaibawath (abominations) which they ishah (make) here? For they malaa (have) filled the aratz (Earth/land) with chamas (violence), and have shawab (turn) again to provoke me to kais (anger): and behold, they shalach (send) the zamawarah (branch) to their ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting).

Therefore will I also ishah (make) in chamah (wrath); my iyan (eye) shall not chawas (spare), neither will I chamal (have) pity; and though they qaraa (called) in my azan (ear) with a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) qawal (sound / voice), yet will I not shamai (hearken / hear) them.”
