1 Balashaatzar (Belshazzar) the malak (king) ibad (servant) a rab (great) lacham (feast) to a alap (thousand) of his rabaraban (lords), and shathah (drinks) chamar (wine) qabal (before) the alap (thousand).
2 Balashaatzar (Belshazzar), while he tasted the chamar (wine), commanded to athah (you (masc)) the dahab (golden) and kasap (silver) maanay (vessels) which Nabawakadanatzar (Nebuchadnezzar) his ab (father) had napaq (taken) out of the hayakal (temple) which was in Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem); that the malak (king) and his rabaraban (lords), his wives and his lachanah (concubines), might shathah (drinks) from them.
3 Then they athah (you (masc)) the dahab (golden) maanay (vessels) that were napaq (taken) out of the hayakal (temple) of the bayath (house) of Alahayam () which was at Yarawashalam (Jerusalem); and the malak (king) and his rabaraban (lords), his wives and his lachanah (concubines), shathah (drinks) from them.
4 They shathah (drinks) chamar (wine), and shabach (praised) the Alahayam () of dahab (gold), and of kasap (silver), of nachash (brass), of parazal (iron), of ai (wood), and of aban (stone).
5 In the same shaih (hour) napaq (came) forth the atzabain (fingers) of a anash (man's) yad (hand), and kathab (write) over qabal (against) the lampstand on the gayar (plaster) of the kathal (wall) of the malak (king) hayakal (palace): and the malak (king) chazaa (saw) the part of the yad (hand) that kathab (write).
6 Then the malak (king) zayaw (face) was shanaa (hate) in him, and his raiyawan (thoughts) bahal (troubled) him; and the qataray (joints) of his thighs were loosened, and his arakabah (knees) struck daa (one) against daa (another).
7 The malak (king) qaraa (called) chayal (aloud) to ilal (bring) in the enchanters, the Kashaday (Chaldeans), and the gazaray (soothsayers). The malak (king) inah (answer / respond) and amar (said) to the chakayam (wise) men of Babal (Babylon), “Whoever shall qaraa (called) dan (this) kathab (write), and show me its pashar (interpretation), shall be labash (clothed) with aragawan (purple), and have a hamanayak (chain) of dahab (gold) il (over) his tzawaar (neck), and shall be the thalayathay (third) shalat (ruler) in the malakaw (kingdom).”
8 Then ilal (came) in kal (every) the malak (king) chakayam (wise) men; but they kahal (could) not qaraa (called) the kathab (write), nor yadai (make) known to the malak (king) the pashar (interpretation).
9 Then was malak (king) Balashaatzar (Belshazzar) shagayaa (greatly) bahal (troubled), and his zayaw (face) was shanaa (hate) in him, and his rabaraban (lords) were perplexed.
10 Now the malakaa (queen) by qabal (reason) of the malay (words) of the malak (king) and his rabaraban (lords) ilal (came) into the mashathah (banquet) bayath (house): the malakaa (queen) inah (answer / respond) and amar (said), “O malak (king), chayaa (live) ilam (forever); don't let your raiyawan (thoughts) bahal (trouble) you, nor let your zayaw (face) be shanaa (hate).
11 There is a gabar (man) in your malakaw (kingdom), in whom is the rawach (spirit / wind) of the qadayash (holy) Alahayam (); and in the yawamay (days) of your ab (father) nahayar (light) and shakalathanaw (understanding) and chakamah (wisdom), like the chakamah (wisdom) of the Alahayam (), were shakach (found) in him; and the malak (king) Nabawakadanatzar (Nebuchadnezzar) your ab (father), the malak (king), I say, your ab (father), qawam (rise up) him rab (master) of the charatamayan (magicians), enchanters, Kashaday (Chaldeans), and gazarayan (soothsayers);
12 Qabal (because) an yathayar (excellent) rawach (spirit / wind), and manadai (knowledge), and shakalathanaw (understanding), pashar (interpreting) of dreams, and achawah (showing) of dark achayadan (sentences), and sharaa (dissolving) of qatarayan (doubts), were shakach (found) in the same Danayaal (Daniel), whom the malak (king) shawam (place / establish / appoint) Balatashaatzar (Belteshazzar). Kain (now) let Danayaal (Daniel) be qaraa (called), and he will show the pashar (interpretation).”
13 Then was Danayaal (Daniel) ilal (brought) in qadam (before) the malak (king). The malak (king) inah (answer / respond) and amar (said) to Danayaal (Daniel), “Are you that Danayaal (Daniel), who are of the banay (my son) of the galawath (captivity) of Yahawad (Judah), whom the malak (king) my ab (father) athah (you (masc)) out of Yahawad (Judah)?
14 I have shamai (heard) of you, that the rawach (spirit / wind) of the Alahayam () is in you, and that nahayar (light) and shakalathanaw (understanding) and yathayar (excellent) chakamah (wisdom) are shakach (found) in you.
15 Kain (now) the chakayam (wise) men, the enchanters, have been ilal (brought) in qadam (before) me, that they should qaraa (called) dan (this) kathab (write), and yadai (make) known to me its pashar (interpretation); but they kahal (could) not show the pashar (interpretation) of the thing.
16 But I have shamai (heard) of you, that you yakal (can) give pasharayan (interpretations), and sharaa (dissolve) qatarayan (doubts); kain (now) if you yakal (can) qaraa (called) the kathab (write), and yadai (make) known to me its pashar (interpretation), you shall be labash (clothed) with aragawan (purple), and have a hamanayak (chain) of dahab (gold) il (over) your tzawaar (neck), and shall be the thalath (third) shalat (ruler) in the malakaw (kingdom).”
17 Then Danayaal (Daniel) inah (answer / respond) qadam (before) the malak (king), “Let your mathanaa (gifts) be to yourself, and yahab (give) your nabazabah (rewards) to acharan (another); baram (nevertheless) I will qaraa (called) the kathab (write) to the malak (king), and yadai (make) known to him the pashar (interpretation).
18 “You, malak (king), the Most ilay (went up) Alahayam () yahab (gave) Nabawakadanatzar (Nebuchadnezzar) your ab (father) the malakaw (kingdom), and rabaw (greatness), and glory, and hadar (majesty):
19 And man (from) of the rabaw (greatness) that he yahab (gave) him, kal (every) the imamay (peoples), amay (nations), and lashanay (languages) hawaa (which/who/that is) and dachal (feared) man (from) him: whom he hawaa (which/who/that is) he killed, and whom he hawaa (which/who/that is) he hawaa (which/who/that is) alive; and whom he hawaa (which/who/that is) he raised up, and whom he hawaa (which/who/that is) he hawaa (which/who/that is) down.
20 But when his labab (heart) was rawam (will lift up) up, and his rawach (spirit / wind) was thaqap (hardened) so that he dealt proudly, he was nachath (deposed) from his malakaw (kingly) karasaa (throne), and they idaa (took) his glory from him:
21 And he was tarad (driven) from the banay (sons) of anash (men), and his labab (heart) was shawah (made) im (nation / people) the animals’, and his madawar (dwelling) was with the irad (wild) donkeys; he was taim (fed) with grass like oxen, and his gasham (body) was tzabai (wet) with the tal (dew) of the sky; id (until / as far as) he yadai (knew) that the Most ilay (went up) Alahayam () shalayat (rules) in the malakaw (kingdom) of anash (men), and that he qawam (rise up) up over it whomever he tzabaa (troop).
22 “You, his bar (son), Balashaatzar (Belshazzar), have not shapal (humbled) your labab (heart), qabal (though) you yadai (knew) kal (every) dan (this),
23 But have rawam (will lift up) up yourself il (over) the Adawan () of shamayan (heaven); and they have athah (you (masc)) the maanay (vessels) of his bayath (house) qadam (before) you, and you and your rabaraban (lords), your wives and your lachanah (concubines), have shathah (drinks) chamar (wine) from them; and you have shabach (praised) the Alahayam () of kasap (silver) and dahab (gold), of nachash (brass), parazal (iron), ai (wood), and aban (stone), which don't chazaa (see), nor shamai (hear), nor yadai (know); and the Alahayam () in whose yad (hand) your nashamaa (breath) is, and whose are kal (every) your arach (ways), you have not hadar (glorified).
24 Then was the part of the yad (hand) shalach (sent) from qadam (before) him, and dan (this) kathab (write) was inscribed.
25 “Dan (this) is the kathab (write) that was inscribed: ‘manaa (mene), manaa (mene), thaqal (tekel), paras (upharsin).’
26 “Dan (this) is the pashar (interpretation) of the thing: manaa (mene); Alahayam () has manaa (numbered) your malakaw (kingdom), and brought it to an end;
27 Thaqal (tekel); you are thaqal (weighed) in the maazanay (balances), and are shakach (found) chasayar (wanting).
28 PERES; your malakaw (kingdom) is paras (divided), and yahab (given) to the Maday (Medes) and Paras (Persians).”
29 Then commanded Balashaatzar (Belshazzar), and they labash (clothed) Danayaal (Daniel) with aragawan (purple), and put a hamanayak (chain) of dahab (gold) il (over) his tzawaar (neck), and karaz (made) proclamation il (over) him, that he should be the thalath (third) shalayat (ruler) in the malakaw (kingdom).
30 In that layalayaa (night) Balashaatzar (Belshazzar) the Kashaday (Chaldean) malak (king) was qatal (slain).
31 It pleased Darayawash (Darius) to set over the malakaw (kingdom) one hundred twenty satraps, who should be throughout the whole malakaw (kingdom);
