Amos 1 — Novel English Bible

1 The dabaray (words) of Imawas (Amos), who was among the herdsmen of Thaqawai (Tekoa), which he chazah (saw) concerning Yashar-Al (Israel) in the yamay (days) of Izayah (Uzziah) malak (king) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), and in the yamay (days) of Yarabaim (Jeroboam) the ban (son) of Yawaash (Joash) malak (king) of Yashar-Al (Israel), two shanathayam (years) panayam (face) the raish (earthquake).

2 He amar (spoke): “Yahawah () will shaag (roar) from Tzayawan (Zion), and nathan (give) his qawal (sound / voice) from Yarawashalam (Jerusalem); and the naawath (pastures) of the raiyam (shepherds) will abal (mourn), and the raash (head) of Karamal (Carmel) will yabash (dry land).”

3 Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (): “For shalawash (three) pashaiy (transgressions) of Damashaq (Damascus), yes, for arabai (four), I will not shawab (turn back / repent) away its punishment; because they have dawash (threshed) Galaid (Gilead) with charawatz (threshing) instruments of barazal (iron);

4 But I will shalach (send) a ash (fire) into the bayath (house) of Chazaal (Hazael), and it will akal (eat) the aramanawath (palaces) of Banahadad (Ben Hadad).

5 I will shabar (break) the barayach (bar) of Damashaq (Damascus), and karath (cut) off the yashab (inhabit/dwell) from the baqaih (valley) of Awan (Aven), and him who thamak (holds) the scepter from the bayath (house) of Idan (Eden); and the im (nation / people) of Aram (Syria) shall galah (go) into captivity to Qayar (Kir),” amar (spoke) Yahawah ().

6 Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (): “For shalawash (three) pashaiy (transgressions) of Izah (Gaza), yes, for arabai (four), I will not shawab (turn back / repent) away its punishment; because they galah (carried) away captive the shalam (full / whole / complete) community, to sagar (deliver) them up to Adawam (Edom);

7 But I will shalach (send) a ash (fire) on the chawamah (wall) of Izah (Gaza), and it will akal (eat) its aramawan (palaces).

8 I will karath (cut) off the yashab (inhabit/dwell) from Ashadawad (Ashdod), and him who thamak (holds) the scepter from Ashaqalawan (Ashkelon); and I will shawab (turn back / repent) my yad (hand) against Iqarawan (Ekron); and the shaarayath (remnant) of the Palashathay (Philistines) will abad (destroy / perish),” amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah ().

9 Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (): “For shalawash (three) pashaiy (transgressions) of Tzar (Tyre), yes, for arabai (four), I will not shawab (turn back / repent) away its punishment; because they sagar (delivered) up the shalam (full / whole / complete) community to Adawam (Edom), and didn't zakar (remember) the ach (brother/kinsman) barayath (covenant);

10 But I will shalach (send) a ash (fire) on the chawamah (wall) of Tzar (Tyre), and it will akal (eat) its aramawan (palaces).”

11 Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (): “For shalawash (three) pashaiy (transgressions) of Adawam (Edom), yes, for arabai (four), I will not shawab (turn back / repent) away its punishment; because he radap (pursued) his ach (brother/kinsman) with the charab (sword), and shachath (cast) off all racham (show mercy / love), and his ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) raged continually, and he shamar (keep/guard) his ibarah (wrath) natzach (forever);

12 But I will shalach (send) a ash (fire) on Thayaman (Teman), and it will akal (eat) the aramanawath (palaces) of Batzarah (Bozrah).”

13 Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (): “For shalawash (three) pashaiy (transgressions) of the banay (children) of Imawan (Ammon), yes, for arabai (four), I will not shawab (turn back / repent) away its punishment; because they have baqai (ripped) open the pregnant women of Galaid (Gilead), that they may enlarge their gabawal (border/boundary).

14 But I will yatzath (kindle) a ash (fire) in the chawamah (wall) of Rabah (Rabbah), and it will akal (eat) its aramawan (palaces), with tharawaih (shouting) in the yawam (day) of malachamah (battle), with a sair (storm) in the yawam (day) of the sawapah (whirlwind);

15 And their malak (king) will halak (move) into gawalah (captivity), he and his shar (prince / ruler) yachad (together),” amar (spoke) Yahawah ().
