Numbers 10 — Novel English Bible

1 Yahawah () dabar (word / matter) to Mashah (Moses), amar (spoke),

3 When they thaqai (blow / sound alarm) them, all the idah (congregation) shall yaid (gather) themselves to you at the pathach (door) of the ahal (tent) of Meeting.

4 If they thaqai (blow / sound alarm) just achad (one), then the nashayaayam (princes), the raashay (heads) of the alapay (thousands) of Yashar-Al (Israel), shall yaid (gather) themselves to you.

5 When you thaqai (blow / sound alarm) an tharawaih (alarm), the machanawath (camps) that chanah (lie) on the qadam (east) side shall nasai (go) forward.

6 When you thaqai (blow / sound alarm) an tharawaih (alarm) the shanay (second) time, the machanawath (camps) that chanah (lie) on the thayaman (south) side shall nasai (go) forward. They shall thaqai (blow / sound alarm) an tharawaih (alarm) for their nasaiw (journeys).

7 But when the qahal (assembly) is to be qahal (gathered) together, you shall thaqai (blow / sound alarm), but you shall not rawai (sound) an alarm.

8 “The banay (my son) of Aharawan (Aaron), the kahanayam (priests), shall thaqai (blow / sound alarm) the chatzatzarawath (trumpets). This shall be to you for a chaqah (statute) iwalam (eternity) throughout your dawar (generation / age / period).

9 When you bawaa (come) to malachamah (war) in your aratz (Earth/land) against the tzarar (adversary) who oppresses you, then you shall rawai (sound) an alarm with the chatzatzarawath (trumpets). Then you will be zakar (remember) panayam (face) Yahawah () your Alahayam (), and you will be yashai (salvation) from your ayab (enemy).

10 “Also in the yawam (day) of your shamachah (gladness), and in your mawaid (Feast/Holy Day) feasts, and in the raashay (beginnings) of your chadash (month), you shall thaqai (blow / sound alarm) the chatzatzarath (trumpets) over your burnt ilah (offerings), and over the zabachay (sacrifices) of your shalam (peace) offerings; and they shall be to you for a zakarawan (memorial) panayam (face) your Alahayam (). I am Yahawah () your Alahayam ().”

11 It happened in the shanay (second) shanah (year), in the shanay (second) chadash (month), on the isharayam (twenty) day of the month, that the inan (cloud) was ilah (go up / offer) up from over the mashakan (tabernacle) of the idawath (testimony).

12 The banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel) nasai (went) forward according to their masai (journeys) out of the madabar (wilderness) of Sayanay (Sinai); and the inan (cloud) stayed in the madabar (wilderness) of Paaran (Paran).

18 The dagal (standard) of the machanah (camp) of Raawaban (Reuben) nasai (went) forward according to their tzabaa (troop). Alayatzawar (Elizur) the ban (son) of Shadayaawar (Shedeur) was over his tzabaa (troop).

19 Shalamayaal (Shelumiel) the ban (son) of Tzawarayashaday (Zurishaddai) was over the tzabaa (troop) of the matah (staff / rod / tribe) of the banay (my son) of Shamaiwan (Simeon).

20 Alayasap (Eliasaph) the ban (son) of Daiwaal (Deuel) was over the tzabaa (troop) of the matah (staff / rod / tribe) of the banay (my son) of Gad (Gad).

30 He amar (said) to him, “I will not yalak (go); but I will depart to my own aratz (Earth/land), and to my relatives.”

31 He amar (said), “Don't izab (leave) us, please; because you know how we are to chanah (encamp) in the madabar (wilderness), and you can be our iyanayam (eyes).

32 It shall be, if you yalak (go) with us, yes, it shall be, that whatever tawab (good / proper function) Yahawah () hatabanaw (does) to us, we will yatab (do) the same to you.”

33 They nasai (set) forward from the har (mountain) of Yahawah () shalawash (three) yamayam (days) darak (journey). The arawan (ark) of’ the barayath (covenant) of Yahawah () nasai (went) panayam (face) them shalawash (three) yamayam (days)’ darak (journey), to thawar (seek) out a manawachah (resting) place for them.

34 The inan (cloud) of Yahawah () was over them by yawamam (by day), when they nasai (set) forward from the machanah (camp).

35 It happened, when the arawan (ark) nasai (went) forward, that Mashah (Moses) amar (spoke), “qawam (rise up) up, Yahawah (), and let your ayab (enemy) be pawatz (scattered)! Let those who shanaa (hate) you nawas (flee) panayam (face) you!”

36 When it nawach (rested), he amar (spoke), “shawab (turn back / repent), Yahawah (), to the rababah (ten) alapay (thousands) of the thousands of Yashar-Al (Israel).”
