Numbers 11 — Novel English Bible

The im (nation / people) were anan (complaining) in the ears of Yahawah (). When Yahawah () shamai (hearken / hear) it, his ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) was charah (hot with anger); and Yahawah () ash (fire) burnt among them, and akal (eat) some of the outskirts of the machanah (camp).

The im (nation / people) tzaiq (cried) to Mashah (Moses); and Mashah (Moses) palal (prayed) to Yahawah (), and the ash (fire) abated.

The sham (name) of that maqawam (place) was qaraa (called) Thabairah (Taberah), because Yahawah () ash (fire) burnt among them.

The mixed asapasap (multitude) that was qarab (among / near) them awah (lusted) exceedingly: and the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel) also bakah (wept) again, and amar (said), “Who will give us bashar (flesh) to akal (eat)?

We zakar (remember) the dagah (fish), which we akal (eat) in Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt) for chanam (nothing); the qashaayam (cucumbers), and the abatachayam (melons), and the chatzayar (leeks), and the batzalayam (onions), and the shawam (place / establish / appoint);

But now we have lost our appetite. There is balathay (without) at all except this man (from) to iyan (eye) at.”

The man (from) was like gad (coriander) zarai (seed), and its iyan (eye) like the iyan (eye) of badalach (Bdellium).

The im (nation / people) shawat (went) around, laqat (gathered) it, and tachan (ground) it in rachayam (mills), or dawak (beat) it in madakah (mortars), and bashal (boiled) it in parawar (pots), and ishah (make) igawath (cakes) of it. Its taim (taste) was like the taim (taste) of lashad (fresh) shaman (oil).

When the tal (dew) yarad (fell) on the machanah (camp) in the layal (night), the man (from) yarad (fell) on it.

Mashah (Moses) shamai (hearken / hear) the im (nation / people) bakah (weeping) throughout their mashapachah (tribe / clan / family), every ayash (man / husband) at the pathach (door) of his ahal (tent); and the ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) of Yahawah () was charah (hot with anger) maad (greatly); and Mashah (Moses) was raii (wicked / dysfunctional / evil).

Mashah (Moses) amar (spoke) to Yahawah (), “Why have you treated with your ibad (servant) so badly? Why haven't I matzaa (found) favor in your iyan (eye), that you shawam (place / establish / appoint) the mashaa (burden) of all this im (nation / people) on me?

Have I harah (conceived) all this im (nation / people)? Have I yalad (birth / begot) them forth, that you should amar (said) me, ‘nashaa (lift) them in your chayaq (bosom), as a aman (believe / have faith) nashaa (lift) a yanaq (nursing) infant, to the adamah (land) which you shabai (swear / take oath) to their ab (father)?’

Ayan (NO ONE) could I get meat to nathan (give) to all this im (nation / people)? For they bakah (weep) to me, amar (said), ‘nathan (give) us meat, that we may akal (eat).’

I am not yakal (able) to nashaa (lift) all this im (nation / people) bad (alone), because it is too kabad (heavy) for me.

If you treat me this way, please harag (kill) me right now, if I matzaa (have) found favor in your iyan (eye); and don't raah (see / saw) me see my rai (wretchedness).”

Yahawah () amar (spoke) to Mashah (Moses), “asap (gather) to me shabaiyam (seventy) ayash (man / husband) of the zaqanay (elders) of Yashar-Al (Israel), whom you yadai (know) to be the zaqanay (elders) of the im (nation / people), and shatar (officers) over them; and laqach (take / seize) them to the ahal (tent) of Meeting, that they may yatzab (stand) there with you.

I will yarad (come) down and dabar (word / matter) with you there. I will atzal (take) of the rawach (spirit / wind) which is on you, and will shawam (place / establish / appoint) it on them; and they shall nashaa (lift) the mashaa (burden) of the im (nation / people) with you, that you not nashaa (lift) it yourself alone.

“Amar (spoke) to the im (nation / people), ‘qadash (set apart / make holy) yourselves against machar (tomorrow), and you will akal (eat) bashar (flesh); for you have bakah (wept) in the azanay (ears) of Yahawah (), amar (spoke), “Who will give us bashar (flesh) to akal (eat)? For it was tawab (good / proper function) with us in Matzarayam (Egypt).” Therefore Yahawah () will nathan (give) you bashar (flesh), and you will akal (eat).

You will not akal (eat) achad (one) yawam (day), nor yawam (day) days, nor chamash (five) yawamayam (days), neither ishar (ten) yawamayam (days), nor isharayam (twenty) yawamayam (days),

But a whole chadash (month), until it yatzaa (go out / come out) out at your ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting), and it is zaraa (loathsome) to you; yain (because) that you have maas (rejected) Yahawah () who is qarab (among / near) you, and have bakah (wept) panayam (face) him, amar (spoke), “Why did we yatzaa (go out / come out) out of Matzarayam (Egypt)?”’”

Mashah (Moses) amar (said), “The im (nation / people), qarab (among / near) whom I am, are shash (six) maah (hundred) alap (thousand) men on foot; and you have amar (said), ‘I will nathan (give) them bashar (flesh), that they may akal (eat) a yawam (day) chadash (month).’

Shall tzaan (flocks) and baqar (morning) be shachat (slaughtered) for them, to be sufficient for them? Shall all the dag (fish) of the yam (sea/waters) be asap (gathered) together for them, to be sufficient for them?”

Yahawah () amar (spoke) to Mashah (Moses), “Has Yahawah () yad (hand) grown qatzar (short)? Now you will raah (see) whether my dabar (word / matter) will qarah (happen) to you or not.”

Mashah (Moses) yatzaa (go out / come out) out, and dabar (word / matter) the im (nation / people) the dabaray (words) of Yahawah (); and he asap (gathered) shabaiyam (seventy) ayash (man / husband) of the zaqanay (elders) of the im (nation / people), and imad (set) them around the ahal (tent).

Yahawah () yarad (came) down in the inan (cloud), and dabar (word / matter) to him, and atzal (took) of the rawach (spirit / wind) that was on him, and nathan (give) it on the shabaiyam (seventy) zaqanayam (elders): and it happened that when the rawach (spirit / wind) nawach (rested) on them, they nabaa (prophesied), but they yasap (did) so no more.

But shanayam (two) anashayam (men) shaar (remained) in the machanah (camp). The sham (name) of achad (one) was Aladad (Eldad), and the sham (name) of the other Mayadad (Medad): and the rawach (spirit / wind) nawach (rested) on them; and they were of those who were kathab (write), but yatzaa (go out / come out) not gone out to the ahal (tent); and they nabaa (prophesied) in the machanah (camp).

A nair (young) man rawatz (ran), and nagad (told) Mashah (Moses), and said, “Aladad (Eldad) and Mayadad (Medad) are nabaa (prophesying) in the machanah (camp)!”

Yahawashawai (Joshua) the ban (son) of Nawan (Nun), the sharath (servant) of Mashah (Moses), one of his chosen bacharawath (men), inah (answer / respond), “My Adawan () Mashah (Moses), kalaa (forbid) them!”

Mashah (Moses) amar (spoke) to him, “Are you qanaa (jealous) for my sake? I wish that all Yahawah () im (nation / people) were nabayaayam (prophets), that Yahawah () nathan (give) put his rawach (spirit / wind) on them!”

Mashah (Moses) went into the machanah (camp), he and the zaqanay (elders) of Yashar-Al (Israel).

A rawach (spirit / wind) from Yahawah () nasai (went) out and gawaz (brought) shalawayam (quails) from the yam (sea/waters), and natash (let) them fall by the machanah (camp), about a yawam (day) darak (journey) on kah (this) side, and a yawam (day) darak (journey) on the other kah (side), around the machanah (camp), and about two amathayam (cubits) above the surface of the aratz (Earth/land).

The im (nation / people) qawam (rise up) up all that yawam (day), and all the layal (night), and all the macharath (next) yawam (day), and asap (gathered) the shalaw (quails). He who mait (gathered) least asap (gathered) ishar (ten) chamarayam (homers); and they shatach (spread) them shatach (all) abroad for themselves around the machanah (camp).

While the bashar (flesh) was yet between their shan (teeth), before it was karath (cut), the ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) of Yahawah () was charah (hot with anger) against the im (nation / people), and Yahawah () nakah (struck) the im (nation / people) with a very rab (great) makah (plague).

The sham (name) of that maqawam (place) was qaraa (called) Qabarawathahathaawah (Kibroth) Hattaavah, because there they qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher) the im (nation / people) who awah (lusted).

From Qabarawathahathaawah (Kibroth) Hattaavah the im (nation / people) traveled to Chatzarawath (Hazeroth); and they stayed at Chatzarawath (Hazeroth).
