Numbers 17 — Novel English Bible

1 Yahawah () dabar (word / matter) to Mashah (Moses), amar (spoke),

2 “Amar (said) to Alaizar (Eleazar) the ban (son) of Aharawan (Aaron) the kahan (priest), that he rawam (will lift up) up the machathah (censers) out of the sharapah (burning), and zarah (scatter) the ash (fire) halaah (yonder); for they are qadash (set apart / make holy),

3 Even the machathah (censers) of these chataa (sinners) against their napash (soul) lives; and let them be ishah (make) beaten pach (snare / trap) for a tzapaway (covering) of the mazabach (altar): for they qarab (come close) them panayam (face) Yahawah (); therefore they are qadash (set apart / make holy); and they shall be a awath (sign / mark / miracle) to the ban (son) of Yashar-Al (Israel).”

4 Alaizar (Eleazar) the kahan (priest) laqach (take / seize) the bronze machathah (censers), which those who were burnt had qarab (come close); and they raqai (beat) them out for a tzapaway (covering) of the mazabach (altar),

5 To be a zakarawan (memorial) to the ban (son) of Yashar-Al (Israel), to the end that no stranger, who isn't of the zarai (seed) of Aharawan (Aaron), qarab (come close) near to qatar (burn) qatarath (incense) panayam (face) Yahawah (); that he not be as Qarach (Korah), and as his idah (company): as Yahawah () dabar (word / matter) to him by Mashah (Moses).

6 But on the next macharath (day) all the idah (congregation) of the ban (son) of Yashar-Al (Israel) lawan (murmured) against Mashah (Moses) and against Aharawan (Aaron), amar (spoke), “You have mawath (death) Yahawah () im (nation / people)!”

7 It happened, when the idah (congregation) was qahal (assembled) against Mashah (Moses) and against Aharawan (Aaron), that they panah (turn) toward the ahal (tent) of Meeting: and behold, the inan (cloud) kasah (covered) it, and the kabawad (glory) of Yahawah () raah (see).

8 Mashah (Moses) and Aharawan (Aaron) bawaa (bring) to the front of the ahal (tent) of Meeting.

9 Yahawah () dabar (word / matter) to Mashah (Moses), amar (spoke),

10 “Ramam (get) away from thawak (midst) this idah (congregation), that I may kalah (complete / finish) them in a ragai (in an instance)!” They napal (fall / be cast down) on their panayam (face).

11 Mashah (Moses) amar (spoke) to Aharawan (Aaron), “laqach (take / seize) your machathah (censer), and nathan (give) ash (fire) from off the mazabach (altar) in it, and shawam (place / establish / appoint) qatarath (incense) on it, and yalak (carry) it maharah (quickly) to the idah (congregation), and make kapar (atonement) for them; for qatzap (wrath) yatzaa (go out / come out) gone out from Yahawah ()! The nagap (plague) has chalal (begun).”

12 Aharawan (Aaron) did as Mashah (Moses) dabar (word / matter), and rawatz (ran) into the thawak (midst) of the qahal (assembly); and behold, the nagap (plague) has chalal (begun) among the im (nation / people): and he nathan (give) on the qatarath (incense), and made kapar (atonement) for the im (nation / people).

13 He imad (stood) between the mawath (death) and the chay (life); and the magapah (plague) was itzar (stayed).
