Deuteronomy 25 — Novel English Bible

If there is a rayab (controversy) between anashayam (men), and they nagash (come) to mashapat (judgment), and the shapat (judge / judgement) judge them; then they shall justify the tzadayaq (righteous), and rashai (condemn) the rashai (wicked);

And it shall be, if the rashai (wicked) man be ban (son) to be nakah (beaten), that the shapat (judge / judgement) shall napal (fall / be cast down) him to lie down, and to be nakah (beaten) before his panayam (face), day (according) to his rashaih (wickedness), by masapar (number).

Arabaiyam (forty) nakah (stripes) he may yasap (give) him, he shall not exceed; lest, if he should yasap (exceed), and nakah (beat) him above these with many makah (stripes), then your ach (brother/kinsman) should qalah (seem) vile to you.

You shall not chasam (muzzle) the shawar (ox) when he treads out the grain.

If achayam (brothers) yashab (inhabit/dwell) yachad (together), and achad (one) of them mawath (death), and have no ban (son), the ayashah (woman / wife) of the mawath (death) shall not be married outside to a stranger: her yabam (husband's) brother shall bawaa (bring) in to her, and laqach (take / seize) her to him as ayashah (woman / wife), and perform the duty of a yabam (husband's) brother to her.

It shall be, that the bakawar (firstborn) whom she bears shall qawam (rise up) in the sham (name) of his ach (brother/kinsman) who is mawath (death), that his sham (name) not be machah (blotted) out of Yashar-Al (Israel).

If the ayash (man / husband) doesn't want to laqach (take / seize) his yabamath (brother's) wife, then his yabamath (brother's) wife shall ilah (go up / offer) up to the shair (gate) to the zaqanayam (elders), and amar (said), “My yabam (husband's) brother maan (refuses) to qawam (rise up) up to his yabam (brother) a sham (name) in Yashar-Al (Israel); he abah (be willing / desire) not perform the duty of a yabam (husband's) brother to me.”

Then the zaqanay (elders) of his iyar (city) shall qaraa (called) him, and dabar (word / matter) to him: and if he imad (stand), and amar (said), “I don't want to laqach (take / seize) her;”

Then his yabamath (brother's) wife shall nagash (come) to him in the iyan (eye) of the zaqanayam (elders), and chalatz (loose) his nail (shoe) from off his ragal (feet / foot), and yaraq (spit) in his panayam (face); and she shall inah (answer / respond) and amar (said), “So shall it be ishah (make) to the ayash (man / husband) who does not banah (build) up his ach (brother/kinsman) bayath (house).”

His sham (name) shall be qaraa (called) in Yashar-Al (Israel), “The bayath (house) of him who has his nail (shoe) untied.”

When anashayam (men) natzah (strive) yachad (together) one with ach (brother/kinsman), and the ayashah (woman / wife) of the achad (one) qarab (come close) near to natzal (deliver) her ayash (man / husband) out of the yad (hand) of him who nakah (strikes) him, and shalach (send) forth her yad (hand), and chazaq (takes) him by the mabash (secrets);

Then you shall qatzatz (cut) off her kap (hand), your iyan (eye) shall have no chawas (pity).

You shall not have in your kayas (bag) diverse aban (stone), a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) and a qatan (small / young / least).

You shall not have in your bayath (house) diverse ayapah (measures), a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) and a qatan (small / young / least).

You shall have a shalam (full / whole / complete) and tzadaq (righteous / just / fair) aban (stone). You shall have a shalam (full / whole / complete) and tzadaq (righteous / just / fair) ayapah (measure), that your yawam (day) may be arak (long) in the adamah (land) which Yahawah () your Alahayam () nathan (give) you.

For all who ishah (make) such things, all who ishah (make) iwal (unrighteously), are an thawaibah (abomination) to Yahawah () your Alahayam ().

Zakar (remember) what Imalaq (Amalek) ishah (make) to you by the darak (way) as you yatzaa (go out / come out) forth out of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt);

How he qarah (met) you by the darak (way), and struck the zanab (hindmost) of you, all who were chashal (feeble) achar (other) you, when you were iyap (faint) and yagai (weary); and he didn't yaraa (fear) Alahayam ().

Therefore it shall be, when Yahawah () your Alahayam () has given you nawach (rest) from all your ayab (enemy) all around, in the aratz (Earth/land) which Yahawah () your Alahayam () nathan (give) you for an nachalah (inheritance) to yarash (possess) it, that you shall machah (blot) out the zakar (remember) of Imalaq (Amalek) from under the sky; you shall not shakach (forget).
