Joshua 6 — Novel English Bible

Now Yarayachaw (Jericho) was tightly sagar (shut) up panayam (face) of the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel). No one yatzaa (go out / come out) out, and no one bawaa (bring) in.

Yahawah () amar (spoke) to Yahawashawai (Joshua), “raah (see), I nathan (give) given Yarayachaw (Jericho) into your yad (hand), with its malak (king) and the gabawar (mighty) men of valor.

All your anashay (men) of malachamah (war) shall march around the iyar (city), naqap (going) around the iyar (city) paim (once). You shall ishah (make) this shash (six) yamayam (days).

Shabai (seven) kahanayam (priests) shall nashaa (lift) shabai (seven) shawaparawath (trumpets) of rams’ yawabalayam (horns) panayam (face) the arawan (ark). On the shabayaiy (seventh) yawam (day), you shall march around the iyar (city) shabai (seven) paimayam (times), and the kahanayam (priests) shall thaqai (blow / sound alarm) the shawaparawath (trumpets).

It shall be that when they mashak (make) a long blast with the yawabal (ram's) qaran (horn), and when you shamai (hearken / hear) the qawal (sound / voice) of the shawapar (Shofar / Ram's horn), all the im (nation / people) shall rawai (shout) with a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) rawai (shout); and the chawamah (wall) of the iyar (city) shall napal (fall / be cast down) down thachath (under), and the im (nation / people) shall ilah (go up / offer) up every ayash (man / husband) straight before him.”

Yahawashawai (Joshua) the ban (son) of Nawan (Nun) qaraa (called) the kahanayam (priests), and amar (spoke) to them, “nashaa (lift) up the arawan (ark) of the barayath (covenant), and let shabai (seven) kahanayam (priests) nashaa (lift) shabai (seven) shawaparawath (trumpets) of rams’ yawabalayam (horns) panayam (face) the arawan (ark) of Yahawah ().”

They amar (spoke) to the im (nation / people), “Advance! March around the iyar (city), and let the chalatz (armed) ibaraw (men) pass on panayam (face) Yahawah () arawan (ark).”

It was so, that when Yahawashawai (Joshua) had amar (spoke) to the im (nation / people), the shabai (seven) kahanayam (priests) nashaa (lift) the shabai (seven) shawaparawath (trumpets) of rams’ yawabalayam (horns) panayam (face) Yahawah () advanced, and thaqai (blow / sound alarm) the shawaparawath (trumpets); and the arawan (ark) of the barayath (covenant) of Yahawah () halak (move) them.

The chalatz (armed) halak (move) went panayam (face) the kahanayam (priests) who thaqai (blow / sound alarm) the shawaparawath (trumpets), and the arawan (ark) halak (move) achar (other) them. The shawaparawath (trumpets) thaqai (blow / sound alarm) as they halak (move).

Yahawashawai (Joshua) tzawah (commanded) the im (nation / people), amar (said), “You shall not rawai (shout), nor let your qawal (sound / voice) be shamai (hearken / hear), neither shall any dabar (word / matter) yatzaa (go out / come out) out of your pah (mouth), until the yawam (day) I amar (said) you to rawai (shout). Then you shall rawai (shout).”

So he caused the arawan (ark) of Yahawah () to sabab (go) around the iyar (city), naqap (going) about it paim (once). Then they bawaa (come) into the machanah (camp), and lawan (lodged) in the machanah (camp).

Yahawashawai (Joshua) shakam (rose) early in the baqar (morning), and the kahanayam (priests) nashaa (lift) up the arawan (ark) of Yahawah ().

The shabai (seven) kahanayam (priests) nashaa (lift) the shabai (seven) shawaparawath (trumpets) of rams’ yabalayam (horns) panayam (face) the arawan (ark) of Yahawah () halak (move) on halak (move), and thaqai (blow / sound alarm) the shawaparawath (trumpets): and the chalatz (armed) men halak (move) panayam (face) them. The rear guard halak (move) achar (other) the arawan (ark) of Yahawah (). The shawaparawath (trumpets) thaqai (blow / sound alarm) as they halak (move).

The shanay (second) yawam (day) they marched around the iyar (city) paim (once), and shawab (turn) into the machanah (camp). They ishah (make) this shash (six) yamayam (days).

It happened on the shabayaiy (seventh) yawam (day), that they shakam (rose) early at the ilah (go up / offer) of the shachar (day), and marched around the iyar (city) in the same mashapat (way) shabai (seven) paimayam (times). Only on this yawam (day) they marched around the iyar (city) shabai (seven) paimayam (times).

It happened at the shabayaiy (seventh) paim (time), when the kahanayam (priests) thaqai (blow / sound alarm) the shawaparawath (trumpets), Yahawashawai (Joshua) amar (spoke) to the im (nation / people), “rawai (shout), for Yahawah () nathan (give) given you the iyar (city)!

The iyar (city) shall be charam (devoted), even it and all that is in it, to Yahawah (). Only Rachab (Rahab) the prostitute shall chayah (live), she and all who are with her in the bayath (house), because she chabaa (hid) the malaakayam (messengers) that we shalach (send).

But as for you, only shamar (keep/guard) yourselves from the charam (devoted) thing, lest when you charam (have) devoted it, you laqach (take / seize) of the charam (devoted) thing; so would you shawam (place / establish / appoint) the machanah (camp) of Yashar-Al (Israel) charam (accursed), and ikar (trouble) it.

But all the kasap (silver), and zahab (gold), and kalay (vessels) of nachashath (brass) and barazal (iron), are qadash (set apart / make holy) to Yahawah (). They shall bawaa (come) into Yahawah () awatzar (treasury).”

So the im (nation / people) rawai (shouted), and the priests thaqai (blow / sound alarm) the shaparawath (trumpets). It happened, when the im (nation / people) shamai (hearken / hear) the qawal (sound / voice) of the shawapar (Shofar / Ram's horn), that the im (nation / people) rawai (shouted) with a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) tharawaih (shout), and the chawamah (wall) napal (fall / be cast down) down flat, so that the im (nation / people) ilah (go up / offer) up into the iyar (city), every ayash (man / husband) straight before him, and they lakad (took) the iyar (city).

They charam (utterly) destroyed all that was in the iyar (city), both ayash (man / husband) and ayashah (woman / wife), both nair (young) and zaqan (old), and shawar (ox), and shah (sheep), and donkey, with the pah (edge) of the charab (sword).

Yahawashawai (Joshua) amar (said) to the shanayam (two) anashayam (men) who had ragal (spied) out the aratz (Earth/land), “bawaa (bring) into the prostitute's bayath (house), and yatzaa (go out / come out) out from there the ayashah (woman / wife) and all that she has, as you shabai (swear / take oath) to her.”

The nair (young) men who were maragalayam (spies) bawaa (bring) in, and yatzaa (go out / come out) out Rachab (Rahab) with her ab (father), her am (mother), her ach (brother/kinsman), and all that she yatzaa (go out / come out). They also brought out all her relatives, and they yanach (set) them outside of the machanah (camp) of Yashar-Al (Israel).

They burnt the iyar (city) with ash (fire), and all that was in it. Only they nathan (give) the kasap (silver), the zahab (gold), and the kalay (vessels) of nachashath (brass) and of barazal (iron) into the awatzar (treasury) of Yahawah () bayath (house).

But Rachab (Rahab) the prostitute, her ab (father) bayath (house), and all that she had, Yahawashawai (Joshua) chayah (saved) chayah (alive). She lived in the midst of Yashar-Al (Israel) to this yawam (day), because she chabaa (hid) the malaakayam (messengers), whom Yahawashawai (Joshua) shalach (send) to ragal (spy) out Yarayachaw (Jericho).

Yahawashawai (Joshua) commanded them with an oath at that ith (time), amar (spoke), “arar (cursed) is the ayash (man / husband) panayam (face) Yahawah (), who qawam (rise up) up and banah (build) this iyar (city) Yarayachaw (Jericho). With the loss of his bakawar (firstborn) shall he yasad (lay) its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son shall he natzab (set) up its dalath (gates).”

So Yahawah () was with Yahawashawai (Joshua); and his shamai (fame) was in all the aratz (Earth/land).
