1 Dawad (David) amar (said) in his lab (heart), “I shall now sapah (perish) achad (one) yawam (day) by the yad (hand) of Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife). There is nothing tawab (good / proper function) for me kay (surely) that I should malat (escape) into the aratz (Earth/land) of the Palashathay (Philistines); and Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) will yaash (despair) of me, to baqash (seek) me any more in all the gabawal (border/boundary) of Yashar-Al (Israel). So shall I malat (escape) out of his yad (hand).”
2 Dawad (David) qawam (rise up), and ibar (pass over/through) over, he and the shash (six) maah (hundred) ayash (man / husband) who were with him, to Akayash (Achish) the ban (son) of Maiwak (Maoch), malak (king) of gath (gath).
3 Dawad (David) lived with Akayash (Achish) at gath (gath), he and his ayash (man / husband), every ayash (man / husband) with his bayath (house), even Dawad (David) with his shanayam (two) wives, Achayanaim (Ahinoam) the yazaraialayath (jezreelitess), and Abayagayal (Abigail) the karamalayath (carmelitess), Nabal (Nabal's) ayashah (woman / wife).
4 It was nagad (told) Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) that Dawad (David) was barach (fled) to gath (gath): and he baqash (sought) no more again for him.
5 Dawad (David) amar (said) to Akayash (Achish), “If now I matzaa (have) found favor in your iyan (eye), nathan (give) them give me a maqawam (place) in achad (one) of the iray (cities) in the shadah (country), that I may yashab (inhabit/dwell) there. For why should your ibad (servant) yashab (inhabit/dwell) in the mamalakah (royal) iyar (city) with you?”
6 Then Akayash (Achish) nathan (give) him Tzaqalag (Ziklag) that yawam (day): why Tzaqalag (Ziklag) pertains to the malakay (kings) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) to this yawam (day).
7 The masapar (number) of the days that Dawad (David) lived in the shadah (country) of the Palashathay (Philistines) was a yawam (day) year and arabai (four) chadashayam (months).
8 Dawad (David) and his ayash (man / husband) ilah (go up / offer) up, and pashat (made) a raid on the Gashawaray (Geshurites), and the Girzites, and the Imalaqay (Amalekites); for those were the yashabawath (inhabitants) of the aratz (Earth/land), who were of iwalam (eternity), as you bawaa (bring) to Shawar (Shur), even to the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt).
9 Dawad (David) nakah (struck) the aratz (Earth/land), and saved neither ayash (man / husband) nor ayashah (woman / wife) chayah (alive), and laqach (take / seize) away the tzaan (sheep), and the cattle, and the donkeys, and the gamalayam (camels), and the bagad (clothing); and he shawab (turn), and bawaa (bring) to Akayash (Achish).
10 Akayash (Achish) amar (said), “Against whom have you pashat (made) a raid today?” Dawad (David) amar (said), “Against the nagab (south) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), against the nagab (south) of the Yarachamaalay (Jerahmeelites), and against the nagab (south) of the Qayanay (Kenites).”
11 Dawad (David) chayah (saved) neither ayash (man / husband) nor ayashah (woman / wife) chayah (alive), to bawaa (bring) them to gath (gath), amar (said), “Lest they should nagad (tell) of us, amar (said), ‘Dawad (David) this, and this has been his mashapat (way) all the yawam (day) he has lived in the shadah (country) of the Palashathay (Philistines).’”
12 Akayash (Achish) aman (believe / have faith) Dawad (David), amar (said), “He has made his im (nation / people) Yashar-Al (Israel) baash (utterly) to abhor him. Therefore he shall be my ibad (servant) iwalam (eternity).”
