2 The Palashathay (Philistines) laqach (take / seize) the arawan (ark) of Alahayam (), and bawaa (come) it into the bayath (house) of Dagawan (Dagon), and yatzag (set) it by Dagawan (Dagon).
3 When they of ashadawaday (ashdod) arose shakam (early) on the next macharath (day), behold, Dagawan (Dagon) was napal (fall / be cast down) on his panayam (face) to the aratz (Earth/land) panayam (face) the arawan (ark) of Yahawah (). They laqach (take / seize) Dagawan (Dagon), and shawab (turn back / repent) him in his maqawam (place) again.
4 When they arose shakam (early) on the next macharath (day) baqar (morning), behold, Dagawan (Dagon) was napal (fall / be cast down) on his panayam (face) to the aratz (Earth/land) panayam (face) the arawan (ark) of Yahawah (); and the raash (head) of Dagawan (Dagon) and shanayam (two) the kapawath (palms) of his yad (hand) were karath (cut) off on the mapathan (threshold). Only Dagawan (Dagon's) torso was intact.
5 Therefore neither the kahanay (priests) of Dagawan (Dagon), nor any who bawaa (bring) into Dagawan (Dagon's) bayath (house), darak (tread) on the mapathan (threshold) of Dagawan (Dagon) in Ashadawad (Ashdod), to this yawam (day).
6 But the yad (hand) of Yahawah () was kabad (heavy) on them of ashadawaday (ashdod), and he shamam (destroyed) them, and nakah (struck) them with tumors, even Ashadawad (Ashdod) and its gabawal (border/boundary).
7 When the anashay (men) of Ashadawad (Ashdod) raah (see) that it was so, they amar (spoke), “The arawan (ark) of the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel) shall not stay with us; for his yad (hand) is severe on us, and on Dagawan (Dagon) our Alahayam ().”
8 They shalach (send) therefore and asap (gathered) all the saranay (lords) of the Palashathay (Philistines) to them, and amar (spoke), “What shall we ishah (make) with the arawan (ark) of the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel)?” They amar (spoke), “Let the arawan (ark) of the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel) be sabab (carried) over to gath (gath).” They sabab (carried) the arawan (ark) of the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel) there.
9 It was so, that achar (other) they had sabab (carried) it about, the yad (hand) of Yahawah () was against the iyar (city) with a very gadawal (very great/important/mighty) mahawamah (confusion): and he nakah (struck) the gadawal (very great/important/mighty) of the iyar (city), both qatan (small / young / least) and gadawal (very great/important/mighty); and tumors broke out on them.
10 So they shalach (send) the arawan (ark) of Alahayam () to Iqarawan (Ekron). It happened, as the arawan (ark) of Alahayam () bawaa (come) to Iqarawan (Ekron), that the iqaranayam (ekronites) zaiq (cried) out, amar (spoke), “They have sabab (brought) about the arawan (ark) of the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel) to us, to mawath (death) us and our im (nation / people).”
11 They shalach (send) therefore and asap (gathered) together all the saranay (lords) of the Palashathay (Philistines), and they amar (spoke), “shalach (send) away the arawan (ark) of the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), and shawab (turn back / repent) it go again to its own maqawam (place), that it not mawath (death) us and our im (nation / people).” For there was a mawath (death) mahawamah (confusion) throughout all the iyar (city); the yad (hand) of Alahayam () was very kabad (heavy) there.
12 The anashayam (men) who didn't mawath (death) were nakah (struck) with the tumors; and the cry of the iyar (city) ilah (go up / offer) up to shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens).
