Chronicles 15 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Dawad (David) ishah (make) him bathayam (houses) in the iyar (city) of Dawad (David); and he kawan (prepared) a maqawam (place) for the arawan (ark) of Alahayam (), and natah (pitched) for it a ahal (tent).

Then Dawad (David) amar (spoke), “No one ought to nashaa (lift) the arawan (ark) of Alahayam () but the Lawayay (Levites). For Yahawah () has bachar (chosen) them to nashaa (lift) the arawan (ark) of Alahayam (), and to sharath (minister) to him iwalam (forever).”

Dawad (David) qahal (assembled) all Yashar-Al (Israel) at Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), to ilah (go up / offer) up the arawan (ark) of Yahawah () to its maqawam (place), which he had kawan (prepared) for it.

Dawad (David) asap (gathered) together the banay (my son) of Aharawan (Aaron), and the Lawayay (Levites):

Of the banay (my son) of Qahath (Kohath), Awarayaal (Uriel) the shar (prince / ruler), and his ach (brother/kinsman) one maah (hundred) isharayam (twenty);

Of the banay (my son) of Mararay (Merari), Ishayah (Asaiah) the shar (prince / ruler), and his ach (brother/kinsman) two maah (hundred) isharayam (twenty);

Of the banay (my son) of Garashawan (Gershom), Yawaal (Joel) the shar (prince / ruler), and his ach (brother/kinsman) one maah (hundred) shalawashayam (thirty);

Of the banay (my son) of Alayatzapan (Elizaphan), Shamaiyah (Shemaiah) the shar (prince / ruler), and his ach (brother/kinsman) two maah (hundred);

Of the banay (my son) of Chabarawan (Hebron), Alayaal (Eliel) the shar (prince / ruler), and his ach (brother/kinsman) shamanayam (eighty);

Of the banay (my son) of Izayaal (Uzziel), Imayanadab (Amminadab) the shar (prince / ruler), and his ach (brother/kinsman) one maah (hundred) shanayam (two).

Dawad (David) qaraa (called) for Tzadawaq (Zadok) and Abayathar (Abiathar) the kahanayam (priests), and for the Lawayay (Levites), for Awarayaal (Uriel), Ishayah (Asaiah), and Yawaal (Joel), Shamaiyah (Shemaiah), and Alayaal (Eliel), and Imayanadab (Amminadab),

And amar (spoke) to them, “You are the raashay (heads) of the abawath (fathers)’ households of the Lawayay (Levites). Qadash (set apart / make holy) yourselves, both you and your ach (brother/kinsman), that you may ilah (go up / offer) up the arawan (ark) of Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), to the place that I have kawan (prepared) for it.

For because you didn't carry it at raashawan (first), Yahawah () our Alahayam () made paratz (broke) out against us, because we didn't darash (seek) him according to the mashapat (ordinance).”

So the kahanayam (priests) and the Lawayay (Levites) qadash (set apart / make holy) themselves to ilah (go up / offer) up the arawan (ark) of Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel).

The banay (children) of the Lawayay (Levites) nashaa (lift) the arawan (ark) of Alahayam () on their kathap (shoulders) with the poles thereon, as Mashah (Moses) tzawah (commanded) according to the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah ().

Dawad (David) amar (said) to the shar (prince / ruler) of the Lawayay (Levites) to imad (appoint) their ach (brother/kinsman) the singers, with kalay (instruments) of music, stringed kalay (instruments) and kanarawath (harps) and matzalathayam (cymbals), shamai (hearken / hear) aloud and rawam (will lift up) up the qawal (sound / voice) with shamachah (joy).

So the Lawayay (Levites) imad (appointed) Hayaman (Heman) the ban (son) of Yawaal (Joel); and of his ach (brother/kinsman), Asap (Asaph) the ban (son) of Barakayah (Berechiah); and of the banay (my son) of Mararay (Merari) their ach (brother/kinsman), Ayathan (Ethan) the ban (son) of Qawashayahaw (Kushaiah);

And with them their ach (brother/kinsman) of the mashanah (second) degree, Zakarayah (Zechariah), Ban (son), and Yaizayaal (Jaaziel), and Shamayaramawath (Shemiramoth), and Yachayaal (Jehiel), and Inay (Unni), Alayaab (Eliab), and Banayah (Benaiah), and Maishayah (Maaseiah), and Mathathayah (Mattithiah), and Alayapalahaw (Eliphelehu), and Maqanayahaw (Mikneiah), and Ibadaadawam (Obed-Edom), and Yaiyaal (Jeiel), the shairayam (doorkeepers).

So the singers, Hayaman (Heman), Asap (Asaph), and Ayathan (Ethan), were given matzalathayam (cymbals) of nachashath (brass) to shamai (hearken / hear) aloud;

And Zakarayah (Zechariah), and Izayaal (Aziel), and Shamayaramawath (Shemiramoth), and Yachayaal (Jehiel), and Inay (Unni), and Alayaab (Eliab), and Maishayah (Maaseiah), and Banayah (Benaiah), with stringed instruments set to ilamawath (alamoth);

And Mathathayah (Mattithiah), and Alayapalahaw (Eliphelehu), and Maqanayahaw (Mikneiah), and Ibadaadawam (Obed-Edom), and Yaiyaal (Jeiel), and Izazayahaw (Azaziah), with kanarawath (harps) tuned to the eight-stringed lyre, to lead.

Kananayah (Chenaniah), shar (prince / ruler) of the Lawayay (Levites), was over the mashaa (song): he yasar (instructed) about the mashaa (song), because he was skillful.

Barakayah (Berechiah) and Alaqanah (Elkanah) were shairayam (doorkeepers) for the arawan (ark).

Shabanayah (Shebaniah), and Yawashapat (Joshaphat), and Nathanaal (Nethanel), and Imashay (Amasai), and Zakarayah (Zechariah), and Banayah (Benaiah), and Alayaizar (Eliezer), the kahanayam (priests), chatzar (blew) the chatzatzarawath (trumpets) panayam (face) the arawan (ark) of Alahayam (): and Ibadaadawam (Obed-Edom) and Yachayah (Jehiah) were shairayam (doorkeepers) for the arawan (ark).

So Dawad (David), and the zaqanay (elders) of Yashar-Al (Israel), and the sharay (captains) over alapayam (thousands), halak (move) to ilah (go up / offer) up the arawan (ark) of the barayath (covenant) of Yahawah () out of the bayath (house) of Ibadaadawam (Obed-Edom) with shamachah (joy).

It happened, when Alahayam () izar (helped) the Lawayay (Levites) who nashaa (lift) the arawan (ark) of the barayath (covenant) of Yahawah (), that they zabach (sacrificed) shabai (seven) parayam (bulls) and shabai (seven) ayalayam (rams).

Dawad (David) was karabal (clothed) with a maiyal (robe) of bawatz (fine) linen, and all the Lawayay (Levites) who nashaa (lift) the arawan (ark), and the singers, and Kananayah (Chenaniah) the shar (prince / ruler) of the mashaa (song) with the singers: and Dawad (David) had on him an apawad (ephod) of bad (linen).

Thus all Yashar-Al (Israel) ilah (go up / offer) up the arawan (ark) of the barayath (covenant) of Yahawah () with tharawaih (shouting), and with qawal (sound / voice) of the shawapar (Shofar / Ram's horn), and with chatzatzarawath (trumpets), and with matzalathayam (cymbals), shamai (hearken / hear) aloud with stringed instruments and kanarawath (harps).

It happened, as the arawan (ark) of the barayath (covenant) of Yahawah () bawaa (come) to the iyar (city) of Dawad (David), that Mayakal (Michal) the banath (daughter) of Shaawal (Saul) shaqap (looked) out at the chalawan (window), and raah (see) malak (king) Dawad (David) raqad (dancing) and shachaq (playing); and she bazah (despised) him in her lab (heart).
