Behold, there bawaa (come) a ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () out of Yahawadah (Judah) by the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () to Bayath-Al (Beth El): and Yarabaim (Jeroboam) was imad (standing) by the mazabach (altar) to qatar (burn) incense.
He qaraa (called) against the mazabach (altar) by the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah (), and amar (spoke), “mazabach (altar), mazabach (altar), thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (): ‘Behold, a ban (son) shall be yalad (birth / begot) to the bayath (house) of Dawad (David), Yaashayah (Josiah) by sham (name). On you he shall zabach (sacrifice) the kahanay (priests) of the bamah (high) places who qatar (burn) incense on you, and they will sharap (burn) adam (men's) itzamawath (bones) on you.’”
He nathan (give) a mawapath (sign) the same yawam (day), amar (spoke), “This is the mawapath (sign) which Yahawah () has dabar (word / matter): Behold, the mazabach (altar) will be split apart, and the ashes that are on it will be shapak (poured) out.”
It happened, when the malak (king) shamai (hearken / hear) the dabar (word / matter) of the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam (), which he qaraa (called) against the mazabach (altar) in Bayath-Al (Bethel), that Yarabaim (Jeroboam) shalach (send) out his yad (hand) from the mazabach (altar), amar (spoke), “Seize him!” His yad (hand), which he shalach (send) out against him, yabash (dry land) up, so that he yakal (could) not shawab (turn back / repent) it back again to himself.
The mazabach (altar) also was split apart, and the ashes shapak (poured) out from the mazabach (altar), according to the mawapath (sign) which the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () nathan (give) given by the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah ().
The malak (king) inah (answer / respond) the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam (), “Now entreat the favor of Yahawah () your Alahayam (), and chalah (afflict) for me, that my yad (hand) may be shawab (turn back / repent) me again.” The ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () entreated Yahawah (), and the malak (king) yad (hand) was shawab (turn back / repent) him again, and became as it was raashawan (before).
The malak (king) dabar (word / matter) to the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam (), “bawaa (come) bayath (house) with me, and said (refresh) yourself, and I will nathan (give) you a reward.”
The ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () amar (spoke) to the malak (king), “Even if you nathan (give) me chatzay (half) of your bayath (house), I would not bawaa (come) in with you, neither would I akal (eat) lacham (bread) nor shathah (drinks) mayam (Waters) in this maqawam (place);
For so was it tzawah (commanded) me by the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah (), amar (spoke), ‘You shall akal (eat) no lacham (bread), nor shathah (drinks) mayam (Waters), neither shawab (turn back / repent) by the darak (way) that you halak (move).’”
So he yalak (went) achar (other) darak (way), and didn't shawab (turn) by the darak (way) that he bawaa (bring) to Bayath-Al (Bethel).
Now there lived an zaqan (old) nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) in Bayath-Al (Bethel); and one of his ban (son) bawaa (come) and sapar (book) him all the maishah (works) that the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () ishah (make) done that yawam (day) in Bayath-Al (Bethel). They also dabar (word / matter) their malak (king) the dabarayam (words) which he had sapar (book) to the ab (father).
Their ab (father) dabar (word / matter) to them, “Which darak (way) did he halak (move)?” Now his ban (son) raah (see) seen which darak (way) the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () halak (move), who bawaa (come) from Yahawadah (Judah).
He amar (said) to his ban (son), “chabash (saddle) the donkey for me.” So they chabash (saddled) the donkey for him; and he rakab (rode) on it.
He yalak (went) achar (other) the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam (), and matzaa (found) him sitting under an alah (oak / terebinth). He amar (spoke) to him, “Are you the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () who bawaa (come) from Yahawadah (Judah)?” He amar (spoke), “I am.”
Then he amar (said) to him, “yalak (come) bayath (house) with me, and akal (eat) lacham (bread).”
He amar (said), “I may not shawab (turn) with you, nor bawaa (bring) in with you; neither will I akal (eat) lacham (bread) nor shathah (drinks) mayam (Waters) with you in this maqawam (place).
For it was dabar (word / matter) to me by the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah (), ‘You shall akal (eat) no lacham (bread) nor shathah (drinks) mayam (Waters) there, nor shawab (turn back / repent) again to yalak (go) by the darak (way) that you halak (move).’”
He amar (spoke) to him, “I also am a nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) as you are; and an malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) dabar (word / matter) to me by the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah (), amar (spoke), ‘shawab (turn back / repent) him back with you into your bayath (house), that he may akal (eat) lacham (bread) and shathah (drinks) mayam (Waters).’” He lied to him.
So he shawab (turn) back with him, and akal (eat) lacham (bread) in his bayath (house), and shathah (drinks) mayam (Waters).
It happened, as they yashab (inhabit/dwell) at the shalachan (table), that the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () came to the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) who shawab (turn back / repent) him back;
And he qaraa (called) to the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () who bawaa (come) from Yahawadah (Judah), amar (spoke), “Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), ‘yain (because) you have been marah (disobedient) to the pah (mouth) of Yahawah (), and have not shamar (keep/guard) the matzawah (commandment) which Yahawah () your Alahayam () tzawah (commanded) you,
But shawab (turn) back, and have akal (eat) lacham (bread) and shathah (drinks) mayam (Waters) in the maqawam (place) of which he dabar (word / matter) to you, “akal (eat) no lacham (bread), and shathah (drinks) no mayam (Waters);” your nabalah (body) shall not bawaa (bring) to the tomb of your ab (father).’”
It happened, achar (other) he had akal (eat) lacham (bread), and achar (other) he had shathah (drinks), that he chabash (saddled) the donkey for the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) whom he had shawab (turn) back.
When he had yalak (gone), a aray (lion) matzaa (met) him by the darak (way), and mawath (death) him. His nabalah (body) was shalak (cast) in the darak (way), and the donkey imad (stood) by it. The aray (lion) also imad (stood) by the nabalah (body).
Behold, anashayam (men) ibar (pass over/through) by, and raah (see / saw) the nabalah (body) shalak (cast) in the darak (way), and the aray (lion) imad (standing) by the nabalah (body); and they bawaa (bring) and dabar (word / matter) it in the iyar (city) where the zaqan (old) nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) lived.
When the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) who shawab (turn back / repent) him back from the darak (way) shamai (hearken / hear) of it, he amar (spoke), “It is the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () who was marah (disobedient) to the pah (mouth) of Yahawah (). Therefore Yahawah () nathan (give) delivered him to the aray (lion), which has mauled him and mawath (death) him, according to the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah (), which he dabar (word / matter) to him.”
He dabar (word / matter) to his ban (son), amar (said), “chabash (saddle) the donkey for me.” They chabash (saddled) it.
He yalak (went) and matzaa (found) his nabalah (body) shalak (cast) in the darak (way), and the donkey and the aray (lion) imad (standing) by the nabalah (body). The aray (lion) had not akal (eat) the nabalah (body), nor mauled the donkey.
The nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) nashaa (lift) up the nabalah (body) of the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam (), and yanach (laid) it on the donkey, and shawab (turn back / repent) it back. He bawaa (come) to the iyar (city) of the zaqan (old) nabayaa (prophet/prophecy) to sapad (mourn), and to qabar (bury) him.
He yanach (laid) his nabalah (body) in his own qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher); and they sapad (mourned) over him, saying, “haway (Alas/Woe!), my ach (brother/kinsman)!”
It happened, achar (other) he had qabar (bury) him, that he amar (spoke) to his ban (son), amar (spoke), “When I am mawath (death), then qabar (bury) me in the tomb in which the ayash (man / husband) of Alahayam () is qabar (bury). Yanach (lay) my itzam (bones) beside his itzam (bones).
For the dabar (word / matter) which he qaraa (called) by the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () against the mazabach (altar) in Bayath-Al (Bethel), and against all the bathay (houses) of the bamah (high) places which are in the iray (cities) of Shamarawan (Samaria), will surely happen.”
Achar (other) this thing Yarabaim (Jeroboam) didn't shawab (turn) from his rai (evil) darak (way), but again ishah (make) kahanay (priests) of the bamah (high) places from among all the im (nation / people). Whoever wanted to, he malaa (consecrated) him, that there might be kahanay (priests) of the bamah (high) places.
This thing became chataah (sin) to the bayath (house) of Yarabaim (Jeroboam), even to kachad (cut) it off, and to shamad (destroy) it from off the surface of the adamah (earth).
