Now it fell on a yawam (day), that Yawanathan (Jonathan) the ban (son) of Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) amar (said) to the nair (young) man who nashaa (lift) his armor, “yalak (come), and let us ibar (pass over/through) over to the Palashathay (Philistines)’ matzab (garrison), that is on the other ibar (side).” But he didn't nagad (tell) his ab (father).
Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) stayed in the uttermost part of Gabaih (Gibeah) under the ramawan (pomegranate) tree which is in Magarawan (Migron): and the im (nation / people) who were with him were about shash (six) maah (hundred) ayash (man / husband);
And Achayah (Ahijah), the ban (son) of Achayatawab (Ahitub), Ayakabawad (Ichabod's) ach (brother/kinsman), the ban (son) of Payanachas (Phinehas), the ban (son) of Ilay (Eli), the kahan (priest) of Yahawah () in Shayalah (Shiloh), nashaa (lift) an apawad (ephod). The im (nation / people) didn't yadai (know) that Yawanathan (Jonathan) was halak (move).
Between the passes, by which Yawanathan (Jonathan) baqash (sought) to ibar (pass over/through) over to the Palashathay (Philistines)’ matzab (garrison), there was a rocky shan (crag) on the one ibar (side), and a rocky shan (crag) on the other ibar (side): and the sham (name) of the achad (one) was Bawatzatz (Bozez), and the sham (name) of the other Sanah (Seneh).
The achad (one) shan (crag) rose up on the tzapawan (north) in front of Makamas (Michmash), and the other on the nagab (south) in mawal (front) of Gabai (Geba).
Yahawanathan (Jonathan) amar (spoke) to the nair (young) man who nashaa (lift) his armor, “yalak (come), and let us ibar (pass over/through) over to the matzab (garrison) of these iral (uncircumcised). It may be that Yahawah () will ishah (make) for us; for there is no maitzawar (restraint) on Yahawah () to yashai (salvation) by many or by mait (few).”
His armor bearer amar (said) to him, “ishah (make) all that is in your labab (heart). Natah (turn) and, behold, I am with you according to your labab (heart).”
Then Yahawanathan (Jonathan) amar (said), “Behold, we will ibar (pass over/through) over to the ibarayam (men), and we will galah (reveal) ourselves to them.
If they amar (said) thus to us, ‘damam (wait) until we nagai (come) to you!’ Then we will imad (stand) still in our place, and will not ilah (go up / offer) up to them.
But if they amar (spoke) this, ‘ilah (go up / offer) up to us!’ Then we will ilah (go up / offer) up; for Yahawah () nathan (give) delivered them into our yad (hand). This shall be the awath (sign / mark / miracle) to us.”
Shanayam (two) of them galah (revealed) themselves to the matzab (garrison) of the Palashathay (Philistines): and the Palashathay (Philistines) amar (said), “Behold, the ibarayam (hebrews) are yatzaa (go out / come out) out of the charayam (holes) where they had chabaa (hidden) themselves!”
The anashay (men) of the matzabah (garrison) inah (answer / respond) Yawanathan (Jonathan) and his armor bearer, and amar (spoke), “ilah (go up / offer) up to us, and we yadai (will) show you something!” Yawanathan (Jonathan) amar (spoke) to his armor bearer, “ilah (go up / offer) up achar (other) me; for Yahawah () nathan (give) delivered them into the yad (hand) of Yashar-Al (Israel).”
Yawanathan (Jonathan) ilah (go up / offer) up on his yad (hand) and on his ragal (feet / foot), and his armor bearer achar (other) him: and they napal (fall / be cast down) panayam (face) Yawanathan (Jonathan); and his armor bearer mawath (death) them achar (other) him.
That raashawan (first) makah (slaughter), which Yawanathan (Jonathan) and his armor bearer nakah (made), was about isharayam (twenty) ayash (man / husband), within as it were chatzay (half) a furrow's length in an mainah (acre) of shadah (land).
There was a charadah (trembling) in the machanah (camp), in the shadah (field), and among all the im (nation / people); the matzab (garrison), and the shachath (spoilers), they also charad (trembled); and the aratz (Earth/land) ragaz (quaked): so there was an alahayam (God) great charadah (trembling).
The watchmen of Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) in Gabaih (Gibeah) of Banayamayan (Benjamin) raah (see / saw); and behold, the hamawan (multitude) mawag (melted) away, and scattered.
Then Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) amar (said) to the im (nation / people) who were with him, “paqad (visit) now, and raah (see / saw) who is missing from us.” When they paqad (visit) counted, behold, Yawanathan (Jonathan) and his armor bearer were not there.
Shaawal (Saul) amar (spoke) to Achayah (Ahijah), “Bring the arawan (ark) of Alahayam () here.” For the arawan (ark) of Alahayam () was with the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel) at that yawam (day).
It happened, while Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) dabar (word / matter) to the kahan (priest), that the hamawan (tumult) that was in the machanah (camp) of the Palashathay (Philistines) yalak (went) on and rab (increased): and Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) amar (said) to the kahan (priest), “asap (withdraw) your yad (hand)!”
Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) and all the im (nation / people) who were with him were zaiq (gathered) together, and bawaa (bring) to the malachamah (battle): and behold, every ayash (man / husband) charab (sword) was against his rai (neigbor/another person): a very gadawal (very great/important/mighty) mahawamah (confusion).
Now the ibarayam (hebrews) who were with the Palashathay (Philistines) as athamawal (before), and who ilah (go up / offer) up with them into the machanah (camp), from all around, even they also turned to be with the Yashar-Al (Israelites) who were with Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) and Yawanathan (Jonathan).
Likewise all the ayash (man / husband) of Yashar-Al (Israel) who had chabaa (hidden) themselves in the har (mountain) country of Aparayam (Ephraim), when they shamai (hearken / hear) that the Palashathay (Philistines) nawas (fled), even they also dabaq (followed) hard achar (other) them in the malachamah (battle).
So Yahawah () yashai (salvation) Yashar-Al (Israel) that yawam (day): and the malachamah (battle) ibar (pass over/through) over by Bayathaawan (Beth Aven).
The ayash (man / husband) of Yashar-Al (Israel) were nagash (distressed) that yawam (day); for Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) had alah (these) the im (nation / people), amar (said), “arar (cursed) is the ayash (man / husband) who akal (eat) any lacham (food) until it is irab (evening), and I am naqam (avenged) of my ayab (enemy).” So none of the im (nation / people) taim (tasted) lacham (food).
All the aratz (Earth/land) bawaa (bring) into the yair (forest); and there was dabash (honey) on the shadah (ground).
When the im (nation / people) bawaa (bring) come to the yair (forest), behold, the dabash (honey) halak (move): but no man nashag (put) his yad (hand) to his pah (mouth); for the im (nation / people) yaraa (fear / be afraid) the shabawaih (oath).
But Yawanathan (Jonathan) didn't shamai (hearken / hear) when his ab (father) commanded the im (nation / people) with the shabai (swear / take oath): therefore he shalach (send) forth the qatzah (end / extremity / border) of the matah (staff / rod / tribe) who was in his yad (hand), and tabal (dipped) it in the yairah (honeycomb), and shawab (turn) his yad (hand) to his pah (mouth); and his iyan (eye) were enlightened.
Then ayash (man / husband) of the im (nation / people) inah (answer / respond), and amar (said), “Your ab (father) directly commanded the im (nation / people) with an shabai (swear / take oath), amar (said), ‘arar (cursed) is the ayash (man / husband) who akal (eat) lacham (food) this.’” yawam (day). The im (nation / people) were iwap (flying).
Then Yawanathan (Jonathan) amar (said), “My ab (father) has ikar (troubled) the aratz (Earth/land). Please raah (see / saw) how my iyan (eye) have been enlightened, because I taim (tasted) a mait (little) of this dabash (honey).
Ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) much more, if perhaps the im (nation / people) had akal (eat) akal (eat) today of the shalal (spoil) of their ayab (enemy) which they matzaa (found)? For now rabah (has) there been no great makah (slaughter) among the Palashathay (Philistines).”
They nakah (struck) of the Palashathay (Philistines) that yawam (day) from Makamas (Michmash) to Ayalawan (Aijalon). The im (nation / people) were very iwap (flying);
And the im (nation / people) ishah (make) on the shalal (spoil), and laqach (take / seize) tzaan (sheep), and cattle, and calves, and shachat (killed) them on the aratz (Earth/land); and the im (nation / people) akal (eat) them with the dam (blood).
Then they nagad (told) Shaawal (Saul), amar (spoke), “Behold, the im (nation / people) are chataa (sinning) against Yahawah (), in that they akal (eat) meat with the dam (blood).” He amar (spoke), “You have dealt bagad (treacherously). Galal (roll) a large aban (stone) to me this yawam (day)!”
Shaawal (Saul) amar (spoke), “pawatz (disperse) yourselves among the im (nation / people), and amar (spoke) them, ‘nagash (bring) me here every ayash (man / husband) his shawar (ox), and every ayash (man / husband) his shah (sheep), and shachat (kill) them here, and akal (eat); and don't chataa (sin) against Yahawah () in akal (eat) meat with the dam (blood).’” All the im (nation / people) nagash (brought) every ayash (man / husband) his shawar (ox) with him that layal (night), and shachat (killed) them there.
Shaawal (Saul) banah (build) an mazabach (altar) to Yahawah (). This was the chalal (first) mazabach (altar) that he banah (build) to Yahawah ().
Shaawal (Saul) amar (spoke), “yarad (let) us go down achar (other) the Palashathay (Philistines) by layal (night), and bazaz (take) spoil among them until the baqar (morning) awar (light), and shaar (let) us not leave a ayash (man / husband) of them.” They amar (spoke), “ishah (make) whatever seems tawab (good / proper function) to you.” Then the kahan (priest) amar (spoke), “Let us qarab (come close) near here to Alahayam ().”
Shaawal (Saul) shaal (asked) counsel of Alahayam (), “Shall I yarad (go) down achar (other) the Palashathay (Philistines)? Will you nathan (give) them into the yad (hand) of Yashar-Al (Israel)?” But he didn't inah (answer / respond) him that yawam (day).
Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) amar (said), “nagash (draw) near here, all you panawath (chiefs) of the im (nation / people); and yadai (know) and raah (see / saw) in which this chataah (sin) has been this yawam (day).
For, as Yahawah () chay (life), who yashai (salvation) Yashar-Al (Israel), though it is in Yawanathan (Jonathan) my ban (son), he shall mawath (death) mawath (death).” But there was not a man among all the im (nation / people) who inah (answer / respond) him.
Then he amar (said) to all Yashar-Al (Israel), “You be on achad (one) ibar (side), and I and Yawanathan (Jonathan) my ban (son) will be on the other ibar (side).” The im (nation / people) amar (said) to Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife), “ishah (make) what seems tawab (good / proper function) to you.”
Therefore Shaawal (Saul) amar (spoke) to Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), “Show the right.” Yawanathan (Jonathan) and Shaawal (Saul) were chosen; but the im (nation / people) yatzaa (go out / come out).
Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) amar (said), “napal (fall / be cast down) lots between me and Yawanathan (Jonathan) my ban (son).” Yawanathan (Jonathan) was selected.
Then Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) amar (said) to Yawanathan (Jonathan), “nagad (tell) me what you ishah (make) done!” Yawanathan (Jonathan) nagad (told) him, and said, “I certainly did taim (taste) a mait (little) dabash (honey) with the qatzah (end / extremity / border) of the matah (staff / rod / tribe) that was in my yad (hand); and han (behold), I must mawath (death).”
Shaawal (Saul) amar (spoke), “Alahayam () ishah (make) so and more also; for you shall mawath (death) mawath (death), Yawanathan (Jonathan).”
The im (nation / people) amar (spoke) to Shaawal (Saul), “Shall Yawanathan (Jonathan) mawath (death), who ishah (make) worked this gadawal (very great/important/mighty) yashawaih (salvation) in Yashar-Al (Israel)? Chalayalah (far) from it! As Yahawah () chay (life), there shall not one shairah (hair) of his raash (head) napal (fall / be cast down) to the aratz (Earth/land); for he ishah (make) worked with Alahayam () this!” yawam (day)! So the im (nation / people) padah (rescued) Yawanathan (Jonathan), that he didn't mawath (death).
Then Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) ilah (go up / offer) up from achar (other) the Palashathay (Philistines); and the Palashathay (Philistines) halak (move) to their own maqawam (place).
Now when Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) had lakad (taken) the malawakah (kingdom) over Yashar-Al (Israel), he lacham (fought) against all his ayab (enemy) on sabayab (surrounding) side, against Mawaab (Moab), and against the banay (my son) of Imawan (Ammon), and against Adawam (Edom), and against the malakay (kings) of Tzawabaa (Zobah), and against the Palashathay (Philistines): and wherever he panah (turn) himself, he defeated them.
He ishah (make) chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor), and nakah (struck) the Imalaq (Amalekites), and natzal (delivered) Yashar-Al (Israel) out of the yad (hand) of those who despoiled them.
Now the banay (my son) of Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) were Yawanathan (Jonathan), and Yashaway (Ishvi), and Malakayashawai (Malchishua); and the sham (name) of his shanayam (two) banath (daughter) were these: the sham (name) of the bakayarah (firstborn) Marab (Merab), and the sham (name) of the younger Mayakal (Michal):
And the sham (name) of Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) ayashah (woman / wife) was Achayanaim (Ahinoam) the banath (daughter) of Achayamaitz (Ahimaaz). The sham (name) of the shar (prince / ruler) of his tzabaa (troop) was Abanar (Abner) the ban (son) of Nar (Ner), Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) dawad (uncle).
Qayash (Kish) was the ab (father) of Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife); and Nar (Ner) the ab (father) of Abanar (Abner) was the ban (son) of Abayaal (Abiel).
There was severe malachamah (war) against the Palashathay (Philistines) all the yamay (days) of Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife): and when Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) raah (see / saw) any gabawar (mighty) ayash (man / husband), or any chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor) ayash (man / husband), he asap (took) him to him.
