Shamawaal (Samuel) mawath (death); and all Yashar-Al (Israel) qabatz (gathered) themselves together, and sapad (lamented) him, and qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher) him in his bayath (house) at Ramah (Ramah). Dawad (David) qawam (rise up), and yarad (went) down to the madabar (wilderness) of Paaran (Paran).
There was a ayash (man / husband) in maiwan (maon), whose maishah (possessions) were in Karamal (Carmel); and the ayash (man / husband) was very gadawal (very great/important/mighty), and he had shalawash (three) alap (thousand) tzaan (sheep), and a alap (thousand) izayam (goats): and he was gazaz (shearing) his tzaan (sheep) in Karamal (Carmel).
Now the sham (name) of the ayash (man / husband) was Nabal (Nabal); and the sham (name) of his ayashah (woman / wife) Abayagayal (Abigail); and the ayashah (woman / wife) was of tawab (good / proper function) shakal (understanding), and of a yapah (beautiful) thaar (face): but the ayash (man / husband) was qashah (rough / hard) and rai (evil) in his mailalayam (doings); and he was of the house of Kalab (Caleb).
Dawad (David) shamai (hearken / hear) in the madabar (wilderness) that Nabal (Nabal) was gazaz (shearing) his tzaan (sheep).
Dawad (David) shalach (send) ishar (ten) nair (young) men, and Dawad (David) amar (said) to the nair (young) men, “ilah (go up / offer) up to Karamal (Carmel), and bawaa (bring) to Nabal (Nabal), and shaal (greet) him in my sham (name).
You shall amar (said) him, ‘Long life to you! Shalawam (peace / safety) be to you, and shalawam (peace / safety) be to your bayath (house), and shalawam (peace / safety) be to all that you have.
Now I have shamai (hearken / hear) that you have gazazayam (shearers). Your raiyam (shepherds) have now been with us, and we didn't kalam (hurt) them, neither was there anything paqad (visit) from them, all the yawam (day) they were in Karamal (Carmel).
Shaal (ask) your nair (young) men, and they will nagad (tell) you. Therefore, let the nair (young) men matzaa (find) favor in your iyan (eye); for we bawaa (bring) in a tawab (good / proper function) yawam (day). Please nathan (give) whatever yamatzaaw (comes) to your yad (hand), to your ibad (servant), and to your ban (son) Dawad (David).’”
When Dawad (David's) nair (young) men bawaa (bring), they dabar (word / matter) to Nabal (Nabal) according to all those dabarayam (words) in the sham (name) of Dawad (David), and nawach (ceased).
Nabal (Nabal) inah (answer / respond) Dawad (David's) ibaday (servant of), and inah (answer / respond), “Who is Dawad (David)? Who is the ban (son) of Yashay (Jesse)? There are many ibaday (servant of) who paratz (break) away from their adawan (master / lord) these yawam (day).
Shall I then laqach (take / seize) my lacham (bread), and my mayam (Waters), and my meat that I have tabach (killed) for my gazaz (shearers), and nathan (give) it to anashayam (men) who I don't yadai (know) where they come from?”
So Dawad (David's) nair (young) men hapak (turned) on their darak (way), and shawab (turn) back, and bawaa (bring) and nagad (told) him according to all these dabarayam (words).
Dawad (David) amar (said) to his ayash (man / husband), “Every ayash (man / husband) chagar (put) on his charab (sword)!” Every ayash (man / husband) chagar (put) on his charab (sword). Dawad (David) also chagar (put) on his charab (sword). About arabai (four) maah (hundred) ayash (man / husband) achar (other) Dawad (David); and two maah (hundred) stayed by the baggage.
But achad (one) of the nair (young) men nagad (told) Abayagayal (Abigail), Nabal (Nabal's) ayashah (woman / wife), amar (said), “Behold, Dawad (David) shalach (send) malaakayam (messengers) out of the madabar (wilderness) to Greet our adawan (master / lord); and he iyat (railed) at them.
But the anashayam (men) were very tawab (good / proper function) to us, and we were not kalam (hurt), neither paqad (visit) we anything, as yawam (day) as we halak (move) with them, when we were in the shadah (fields).
They were a chawamah (wall) to us both by layal (night) and by yawamam (by day), all the yawam (day) we were with them raih (keeping) the tzaan (sheep).
Now therefore yadai (know) and raah (see / saw) what you will ishah (make); for rai (evil) is kalah (complete / finish) against our adawan (master / lord), and against all his bayath (house); for he is such a worthless fellow that one can't dabar (word / matter) to him.”
Then Abayagayal (Abigail) hurried and laqach (take / seize) two maah (hundred) loaves of bread, shanayam (two) nabalay (bottles) of yayan (wine), chamash (five) tzaan (sheep) ready ishah (make), chamash (five) saayam (measures) of qalay (parched) grain, one maah (hundred) clusters of tzamaqayam (raisins), and two maah (hundred) dabalayam (cakes) of figs, and shawam (place / establish / appoint) them on donkeys.
She amar (said) to her nair (young) men, “ibar (pass over/through) on panayam (face) me. Behold, I bawaa (bring) achar (other) you.” But she didn't nagad (tell) her ayash (man / husband), Nabal (Nabal).
It was so, as she rakab (rode) on her donkey, and yarad (came) down by the sathar (secret / hidden) of the har (mountain), that behold, Dawad (David) and his ayash (man / husband) yarad (came) down toward her; and she pagash (met) them.
Now Dawad (David) had amar (said), “Surely in shaqar (vain) have I shamar (keep/guard) all that zah (this / that / these) fellow has in the madabar (wilderness), so that maawamah (nothing) was paqad (visit) of shawab (turn) that pertained to him. He has returned me rai (evil) for tawab (good / proper function).
Alahayam () ishah (make) so to the ayabay (enemies) of Dawad (David), and more also, if I shaar (leave) of all that belongs to him by the baqar (morning) light so much as shathan (one) who urinates on a qayar (wall).”
When Abayagayal (Abigail) raah (see / saw) Dawad (David), she hurried, and alighted from her donkey, and napal (fall / be cast down) ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) Dawad (David) on her panayam (face), and shachah (bowed) herself to the aratz (Earth/land).
She napal (fall / be cast down) at his ragal (feet / foot), and amar (spoke), “On me, my Adawan (), on me be the iwan (guilt/iniquity); and please let your handmaid dabar (word / matter) in your azan (ear). Shamai (hearken / hear) the dabaray (words) of your handmaid.
Please don't let my Adawan () lab (heart) this worthless ayash (man / husband), even Nabal (Nabal); for as his sham (name) is, so is he. Nabal (Nabal) is his sham (name), and nabalah (folly) is with him; but I, your handmaid, didn't raah (see) the nair (young) men of my Adawan (), whom you shalach (send).
Now therefore, my Adawan (), as Yahawah () chay (life), and as your napash (soul) chay (life), since Yahawah () has withheld you from dam (blood) guiltiness, and from yashai (salvation) yourself with your own yad (hand), now therefore let your ayab (enemy), and those who baqash (seek) rai (evil) to my Adawan (), be as Nabal (Nabal).
Now this barakah (present) which your shapachah (servant) bawaa (come) brought to my Adawan (), nathan (give) it be given to the nair (young) men who halak (move) my Adawan ().
Please nashaa (lift) the pashai (trespass) of your handmaid. For Yahawah () will ishah (make) ishah (make) my Adawan () a aman (believe / have faith) bayath (house), because my Adawan () lacham (fights) the malachamawath (battles) of Yahawah (); and rai (evil) shall not be matzaa (found) in you all your yawam (day).
Though adam (men) may qawam (rise up) up to radap (pursue) you, and to baqash (seek) your napash (soul), yet the napash (soul) of my Adawan () shall be tzarar (bound) in the tzarawar (bundle) of chay (life) with Yahawah () your Alahayam (). He will qalai (sling) out the napash (soul) of your ayab (enemy), as from the hollow of a qalai (sling).
It shall come to pass, when Yahawah () ishah (make) done to my Adawan () according to all the tawab (good / proper function) that he has dabar (word / matter) concerning you, and shall have tzawah (appointed) you nagayad (prince) over Yashar-Al (Israel),
That this shall be no pawaqah (grief) to you, nor offense of lab (heart) to my Adawan (), either that you have shapak (shed) dam (blood) chanam (without) cause, or that my Adawan () has avenged himself. When Yahawah () yatab (has) dealt well with my Adawan (), then zakar (remember) your handmaid.”
Dawad (David) amar (spoke) to Abayagayal (Abigail), “barak (blessed) is Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), who shalach (send) you this yawam (day) to qaraa (called) me!
Barak (blessed) is your taim (discretion), and barak (blessed) are you, that have kalaa (kept) me this yawam (day) from dam (blood) guiltiness, and from yashai (salvation) myself with my own yad (hand).
For indeed, as Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), chay (life), who has withheld me from raii (wicked / dysfunctional / evil) you, lawalaa (unless) you had hurried and bawaa (come) to qaraa (called) me, surely there wouldn't have been yathar (left) to Nabal (Nabal) by the baqar (morning) awar (light) so much as shathan (one) who urinates on a qayar (wall).”
So Dawad (David) laqach (take / seize) of her yad (hand) that which she bawaa (bring) brought him: and he amar (said) to her, “ilah (go up / offer) up in shalawam (peace / safety) to your bayath (house). Raah (see / saw), I have shamai (hearken / hear) to your qawal (sound / voice), and have granted your request.”
Abayagayal (Abigail) bawaa (bring) to Nabal (Nabal); and behold, he held a mashathah (feast) in his bayath (house), like the mashathah (feast) of a malak (king). Nabal (Nabal's) lab (heart) was tawab (good / proper function) within him, for he was very shakawar (drunken). Therefore she nagad (told) him nothing, qatan (small / young / least) or more, until the baqar (morning) awar (light).
It happened in the baqar (morning), when the yayan (wine) was yatzaa (go out / come out) out of Nabal (Nabal), that his ayashah (woman / wife) nagad (told) him these things, and his lab (heart) mawath (death) qarab (among / near) him, and he became as a aban (stone).
It happened about ishar (ten) yamayam (days) after, that Yahawah () nagap (struck) Nabal (Nabal), so that he mawath (death).
When Dawad (David) shamai (hearken / hear) that Nabal (Nabal) was mawath (death), he amar (spoke), “barak (blessed) is Yahawah (), who has rayab (pleaded) the rayab (cause) of my charapah (reproach) from the yad (hand) of Nabal (Nabal), and has chashak (darkness) back his ibad (servant) from rai (evil). Yahawah () has shawab (turn back / repent) the evildoing of Nabal (Nabal) on his own raash (head).” Dawad (David) shalach (send) and dabar (word / matter) concerning Abayagayal (Abigail), to laqach (take / seize) her to him as ayashah (woman / wife).
When the ibaday (servant of) of Dawad (David) bawaa (bring) come to Abayagayal (Abigail) to Karamal (Carmel), they dabar (word / matter) to her, amar (said), “Dawad (David) has shalach (send) us to you, to laqach (take / seize) you to him as ayashah (woman / wife).”
She qawam (rise up), and shachah (bowed) herself with her ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) to the aratz (Earth/land), and amar (spoke), “Behold, your handmaid is a shapachah (servant) to rachatz (wash) the ragalay (feet) of the shapachah (servants) of my Adawan ().”
Abayagayal (Abigail) hurried, and qawam (rise up), and rakab (rode) on a donkey, with chamash (five) ladies of hers who ragal (feet / foot) her; and she halak (move) ragal (feet / foot) the malaakay (messengers) of Dawad (David), and became his ayashah (woman / wife).
Dawad (David) also laqach (take / seize) Achayanaim (Ahinoam) of Yazaraial (Jezreel); and they shanayam (two) became his wives.
Now Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) nathan (give) given Mayakal (Michal) his banath (daughter), Dawad (David's) ayashah (woman / wife), to Palatay (Palti) the ban (son) of Layash (Laish), who was of Galayam (Gallim).
