1 Now the Palashathay (Philistines) lacham (fought) against Yashar-Al (Israel): and the anashay (men) of Yashar-Al (Israel) nawas (fled) from panayam (face) the Palashathay (Philistines), and napal (fall / be cast down) down chalal (slain) on har (mountain) Galabai (Gilboa).
2 The Palashathay (Philistines) dabaq (followed) hard on Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) and on his banay (my son); and the Palashathay (Philistines) nakah (killed) Yahawanathan (Jonathan), and Abayanadab (Abinadab), and Malakayashawai (Malchishua), the banay (my son) of Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife).
3 The malachamah (battle) went hard against Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife), and the archers overtook him; and he was maad (greatly) distressed by reason of the archers.
4 Then Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) amar (said) to his armor bearer, “shalap (draw) your charab (sword), and thrust me daqar (through) with it, lest these iral (uncircumcised) bawaa (bring) and thrust me daqar (through), and ilal (abuse) me!” But his armor bearer would not; for he was terrified. Therefore Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) laqach (take / seize) his charab (sword), and napal (fall / be cast down) on it.
5 When his armor bearer raah (see / saw) that Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) was mawath (death), he likewise napal (fall / be cast down) on his charab (sword), and mawath (death) with him.
6 So Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) mawath (death), and his shalawash (three) ban (son), and his armor bearer, and all his mawath (death), that same yawam (day) yachad (together).
7 When the anashay (men) of Yashar-Al (Israel) who were on the other ibar (side) of the imaq (valley), and those who were ibar (beyond) the Yaradan (Jordan), raah (see / saw) that the anashay (men) of Yashar-Al (Israel) nawas (fled), and that Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) and his ban (son) were mawath (death), they forsook the irayam (cities), and nawas (fled); and the Palashathay (Philistines) bawaa (bring) and lived in them.
8 It happened on the next macharath (day), when the Palashathay (Philistines) bawaa (bring) to pashat (strip) the chalal (slain), that they matzaa (found) Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) and his shalawash (three) ban (son) napal (fall / be cast down) on har (mountain) Galabai (Gilboa).
9 They karath (cut) off his raash (head), and stripped off his armor, and shalach (send) into the aratz (Earth/land) of the Palashathay (Philistines) all around, to bashar (carry) the news to the bayath (house) of their itzab (idols), and to the im (nation / people).
10 They shawam (place / establish / appoint) his armor in the bayath (house) of the Ishatharawath (Ashtaroth); and they thaqai (blow / sound alarm) his gawayah (corpse) to the chawamah (wall) of Bayath-Shaan (Beth Shan).
11 When the yashabay (inhabitants) of Yabash (dry land) shamai (hearken / hear) concerning him that which the Palashathay (Philistines) ishah (make) done to Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife),
12 All the chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor) ayash (man / husband) qawam (rise up), and yalak (went) all layal (night), and laqach (take / seize) the gawayah (corpse) of Shaawal (Sheol / afterlife) and the gawayath (bodies) of his ban (son) from the chawamah (wall) of Bayath-Shaan (Beth Shan); and they bawaa (bring) to Yabash (dry land), and burnt them there.
13 They laqach (take / seize) their itzam (bones), and qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher) them under the tamarisk ashal (tree) in Yabash (dry land), and tzawam (fasted) shabai (seven) yamayam (days).
