1 The inhabitants of Yarawashalam (Jerusalem) made Achazayah (Ahaziah) his youngest son king in his place; for the band of men who came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Achazayah (Ahaziah) the son of Yahawaram (Jehoram) king of Yahawadah (Judah) reigned.
2 Arabaiyam (forty) - shanayam (two) shanah (years) ban (son) was Achazayah (Ahaziah) when he began to malak (king); and he malak (king) achad (one) shanah (year) in Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem): and his am (mother) sham (name) was Ithalayah (Athaliah) the banath (daughter) of Imaray (Omri).
3 He also halak (move) in the darakay (ways) of the bayath (house) of Achaab (Ahab); for his am (mother) was his yaitz (counselor) to rashai (do) wickedly.
4 He ishah (make) that which was rai (evil) in the iyan (eye) of Yahawah (), as did the bayath (house) of Achaab (Ahab); for they were his yawaitzayam (counselors) achar (other) the mawath (death) of his ab (father), to his mashachayath (destruction).
5 He halak (move) also after their itzah (counsel), and yalak (went) with Yahawaram (Jehoram) the ban (son) of Achaab (Ahab) malak (king) of Yashar-Al (Israel) to malachamah (war) against Chazaal (Hazael) malak (king) of Aram (Syria) at Ramath-Galaid (Ramoth Gilead): and the Ramay (Syrians) wounded Yawaram (Joram).
6 He shawab (turn) to be rapaa (healed) in Yazaraial (Jezreel) of the makayam (wounds) which they had nakah (given) him at Ramah (Ramah), when he lacham (fought) against Chazaal (Hazael) malak (king) of Aram (Syria). 7 Now the thabawasah (destruction) of Achazayah (Ahaziah) was of Alahayam (), in that he bawaa (come) to Yawaram (Joram): for when he bawaa (come) come, he yatzaa (go out / come out) out with Yahawaram (Jehoram) against Yahawaa (Jehu) the ban (son) of Namashay (Nimshi), whom Yahawah () had mashach (anointed) to karath (cut) off the bayath (house) of Achaab (Ahab).
8 It happened, when Yahawaa (Jehu) was executing shapat (judge / judgement) on the bayath (house) of Achaab (Ahab), that he matzaa (found) the sharay (princes) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), and the banay (my son) of the achay (brothers) of Achazayah (Ahaziah), sharath (ministering) to Achazayah (Ahaziah), and harag (kill) them.
9 He baqash (sought) Achazayah (Ahaziah), and they lakad (caught) him (now he was chabaa (hiding) in Shamarawan (Samaria)), and they bawaa (come) him to Yahawaa (Jehu), and mawath (death) him; and they qabar (bury) him, for they amar (spoke), “He is the ban (son) of Yahawashapat (Jehoshaphat), who darash (sought) Yahawah () with all his labab (heart).” The bayath (house) of Achazayah (Ahaziah) had no kach (strength / mighty / power) to hold the mamalakah (kingdom).
10 Now when Ithalayah (Athaliah) the am (mother) of Achazayah (Ahaziah) raah (see / saw) that her ban (son) was mawath (death), she qawam (rise up) and dabar (word / matter) all the mamalakah (royal) zarai (seed) of the bayath (house) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah).
11 But Yahawashabaith (Jehoshabeath), the banath (daughter) of the malak (king), laqach (take / seize) Yawaash (Joash) the ban (son) of Achazayah (Ahaziah), and ganab (stole) him away from thawak (midst) the malak (king) banay (my son) who were mawath (death), and nathan (give) him and his yanaq (nurse) in the bedroom. So Yahawashabaith (Jehoshabeath), the banath (daughter) of malak (king) Yahawaram (Jehoram), the ayashah (woman / wife) of Yahawayadai (Jehoiada) the kahan (priest) (for she was the achawath (sister) of Achazayah (Ahaziah)), sathar (hid) him from Ithalayah (Athaliah), so that she didn't mawath (death) him.
12 He was with them chabaa (hidden) in the bayath (house) of Alahayam () shash (six) shanayam (years): and Ithalayah (Athaliah) malak (king) over the aratz (Earth/land).
