2 Chronicles 29 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 Chazaqayah (Hezekiah) began to malak (king) when he was isharayam (twenty) - chamash (five) shanah (years) ban (son); and he malak (king) isharayam (twenty) - thashai (nine) shanah (years) in Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem): and his am (mother) sham (name) was Abayah (Abijah), the banath (daughter) of Zakarayah (Zechariah).

2 He ishah (make) that which was yashar (upright) in the iyanay (eyes) of Yahawah (), according to all that Dawad (David) his ab (father) ishah (make) done.

3 He in the raashawan (first) shanah (year) of his malak (king), in the raashawan (first) chadash (month), pathach (opened) the dalathawath (doors) of the bayath (house) of Yahawah (), and chazaq (repaired) them.

4 He bawaa (bring) in the kahanayam (priests) and the Lawayay (Levites), and asap (gathered) them together into the rachab (broad) place on the mazarach (east),

5 And amar (spoke) to them, “shamai (hearken / hear) to me, you Lawayay (Levites)! Now qadash (set apart / make holy) yourselves, and qadash (set apart / make holy) the bayath (house) of Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of your ab (father)’, and yatzaa (go out / come out) out the nadah (filthiness) out of the qadash (set apart / make holy) place.

6 For our ab (father) have mail (top/above), and ishah (make) that which was rai (evil) in the iyan (eye) of Yahawah () our Alahayam (), and have forsaken him, and have sabab (turned) away their panayam (face) from the mashakan (habitation) of Yahawah (), and nathan (give) their irap (neck).

7 Also they have sagar (shut) up the dalathawath (doors) of the awalam (porch), and put out the narawath (lamps), and have not qatar (burned) qatarath (incense) nor ilah (go up / offer) burnt ilah (offerings) in the qadash (set apart / make holy) place to the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel).

8 Therefore the qatzap (wrath) of Yahawah () was on Yahawadah (Judah) and Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), and he nathan (give) delivered them to be tossed back and forth, to be an shamah (astonishment), and a sharaqah (hissing), as you raah (see) with your iyan (eye).

9 For, behold, our ab (father) napal (fall / be cast down) fallen by the charab (sword), and our ban (son) and our banath (daughter) and our wives are in shabay (captivity) for this.

10 Now it is in my labab (heart) to karath (cut) a barayath (covenant) with Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), that his charawan (fierce) ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) may shawab (turn back / repent) away from us.

11 My ban (son), don't be shalah (negligent) now; for Yahawah () has bachar (chosen) you to imad (stand) panayam (face) him, to sharath (minister) to him, and that you should be his masharathayam (ministers), and qatar (burn) incense.”

12 Then the Lawayay (Levites) qawam (rise up), Machath (Mahath), the ban (son) of Imashay (Amasai), and Yawaal (Joel) the ban (son) of Izarayah (Azariah), of the banay (my son) of the Qahathay (Kohathites); and of the banay (my son) of Mararay (Merari), Qayash (Kish) the ban (son) of Ibaday (servant of), and Izarayah (Azariah) the ban (son) of Yahalalaal (Jehallelel); and of the garashanay (gershonites), Yawaach (Joah) the ban (son) of Zamah (Zimmah), and Idan (Idan / Eden) the ban (son) of Yawaach (Joah);

13 And of the banay (my son) of Alayatzapan (Elizaphan), Shamaray (Shimri) and Yaiyaal (Jeuel); and of the banay (my son) of Asap (Asaph), Zakarayah (Zechariah) and Mathanayah (Mattaniah);

14 And of the banay (my son) of Hayaman (Heman), Yachayaal (Jehuel) and Shamaiy (Shimei); and of the banay (my son) of Yadawathawan (Jeduthun), Shamaiyah (Shemaiah) and Izayaal (Uzziel).

15 They asap (gathered) their ach (brother/kinsman), and qadash (set apart / make holy) themselves, and bawaa (come) in, according to the matzawah (commandment) of the malak (king) by the dabaray (words) of Yahawah (), to tahar (cleanse) the bayath (house) of Yahawah ().

16 The kahanayam (priests) bawaa (come) in to the inner panayamah (part) of the bayath (house) of Yahawah (), to tahar (cleanse) it, and yatzaa (go out / come out) out all the tamaah (uncleanness) that they matzaa (found) in the hayakal (temple) of Yahawah () into the chatzar (court) of the bayath (house) of Yahawah (). The Lawayay (Levites) qabal (took) it, to yatzaa (go out / come out) it out chawatz (abroad) to the nachal (stream / river) Qadarawan (Kidron).

17 Now they chalal (began) on the achad (one) day of the raashawan (first) chadash (month) to qadash (set apart / make holy), and on the shamanah (eighth) yawam (day) of the chadash (month) bawaa (come) they to the awalam (porch) of Yahawah (); and they qadash (set apart / make holy) the bayath (house) of Yahawah () in shamanah (eight) yamayam (days): and on the sixteenth day of the raashawan (first) chadash (month) they kalah (complete / finish) an end.

18 Then they bawaa (come) in to Chazaqayah (Hezekiah) the malak (king) within the palace, and amar (spoke), “We have tahar (cleansed) all the bayath (house) of Yahawah (), and the mazabach (altar) of burnt ilah (offering), with all its kalay (vessels), and the shalachan (table) of show mairakath (bread), with all its kalay (vessels).

19 Moreover all the kalayam (vessels), which malak (king) Achaz (Ahaz) in his malakawath (reign) threw zanach (away) when he mail (top/above), have we kawan (prepared) and qadash (set apart / make holy); and behold, they are panayam (face) the mazabach (altar) of Yahawah ().”

20 Then Chazaqayah (Hezekiah) the malak (king) arose shakam (early), and asap (gathered) the sharay (princes) of the iyar (city), and ilah (go up / offer) up to the bayath (house) of Yahawah ().

21 They bawaa (come) shabai (seven) parayam (bulls), and shabai (seven) ayalayam (rams), and shabai (seven) kabashayam (lambs), and shabai (seven) male izayam (goats), for a chataah (sin) offering for the mamalakah (kingdom) and for the maqadash (sanctuary) and for Yahawadah (Judah). He commanded the kahanayam (priests) the banay (sons) of Aharawan (Aaron) to ilah (go up / offer) them on the mazabach (altar) of Yahawah ().

22 So they shachat (killed) the baqar (morning), and the kahanayam (priests) qabal (received) the dam (blood), and zaraq (sprinkled) it on the mazabach (altar): and they shachat (killed) the alayam (rams), and zaraq (sprinkled) the dam (blood) on the mazabach (altar): they shachat (killed) also the kabashayam (lambs), and zaraq (sprinkled) the dam (blood) on the mazabach (altar).

23 They nagash (brought) near the male shaiyaray (goats) for the chataah (sin) offering panayam (face) the malak (king) and the qahal (assembly); and they samak (laid) their yad (hand) on them:

24 And the kahanayam (priests) shachat (killed) them, and they made a chataa (sin) offering with their dam (blood) on the mazabach (altar), to make kapar (atonement) for all Yashar-Al (Israel); for the malak (king) commanded that the burnt ilah (offering) and the sin ilah (offering) should be made for all Yashar-Al (Israel).

25 He imad (set) the Lawayay (Levites) in the bayath (house) of Yahawah () with matzalathayam (cymbals), with stringed instruments, and with kanarawath (harps), according to the matzawah (commandment) of Dawad (David), and of Gad (Gad) the malak (king) chazah (seer), and Nathan (Nathan) the nabayaa (prophet/prophecy); for the matzawah (commandment) was of Yahawah () by his nabayaa (prophet/prophecy).

26 The Lawayay (Levites) imad (stood) with the kalay (instruments) of Dawad (David), and the kahanayam (priests) with the chatzatzarawath (trumpets).

27 Chazaqayah (Hezekiah) commanded to ilah (go up / offer) the burnt ilah (go up / offer) on the mazabach (altar). When the burnt ilah (offering) chalal (began), the shayar (song) of Yahawah () chalal (began) also, and the chatzatzarawath (trumpets), together with the kalay (instruments) of Dawad (David) malak (king) of Yashar-Al (Israel).

28 All the qahal (assembly) shachah (worshiped), and the singers shayar (sang), and the chatzatzarawath (trumpeters) chatzar (sounded); all this continued until the burnt ilah (offering) was kalah (complete / finish).

29 When they kalah (complete / finish) made an end of ilah (go up / offer), the malak (king) and all who were matzaa (present) with him karai (bowed) themselves and shachah (worshiped).

30 Moreover Chazaqayah (Hezekiah) the malak (king) and the sharayam (princes) commanded the Lawayay (Levites) to sing yahalalaw (praises) to Yahawah () with the dabaray (words) of Dawad (David), and of Asap (Asaph) the chazah (seer). They sang yahalalaw (praises) with shamachah (gladness), and they bowed their yaqadaw (heads) and shachah (worshiped).

31 Then Chazaqayah (Hezekiah) inah (answer / respond), “Now you malaa (have) consecrated yourselves to Yahawah (); nagash (come) near and bawaa (come) zabachayam (sacrifices) and thank thawadawath (offerings) into the bayath (house).” of Yahawah (). The qahal (assembly) bawaa (come) in zabachayam (sacrifices) and thank thawadawath (offerings); and as many as were of a nadayab (willing) lab (heart) brought burnt ilawath (offerings).

32 The masapar (number) of the burnt ilah (offerings) which the qahal (assembly) bawaa (come) was shabaiyam (seventy) baqar (morning), one maah (hundred) ayalayam (rams), and two maah (hundred) kabashayam (lambs): all these were for a burnt ilah (offering) to Yahawah ().

33 The qadash (set apart / make holy) things were shash (six) maah (hundred) baqar (morning) of cattle and shalawash (three) alap (thousand) tzaan (sheep).

34 But the kahanayam (priests) were too mait (few), so that they yakal (could) not pashat (flay) all the burnt ilawath (offerings): therefore their ach (brother/kinsman) the Lawayay (Levites) chazaq (helped) them, until the malaakah (work) was kalah (complete / finish), and until the kahanayam (priests) had qadash (set apart / make holy) themselves; for the Lawayay (Levites) were more yashar (upright) in labab (heart) to qadash (set apart / make holy) themselves than the kahanayam (priests).

35 Also the burnt ilah (offerings) were in rab (abundance), with the chalab (fat) of the shalam (peace) offerings, and with the drink nasakayam (offerings) for every burnt ilah (offering). So the ibadah (service) of the bayath (house) of Yahawah () was kawan (set) in order.

36 Chazaqayah (Hezekiah) shamach (rejoiced), and all the im (nation / people), because of that which Alahayam () had kawan (prepared) for the im (nation / people): for the thing was done pathaawam (suddenly).
