1 It happened, when Yahawah () would ilah (go up / offer) up Alayah (Elijah) by a sair (whirlwind) into shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens), that Alayah (Elijah) yalak (went) with Alayashai (Elisha) from Galagal (Gilgal).
2 Alayah (Elijah) amar (spoke) to Alayashai (Elisha), “Please wait here, for Yahawah () has shalach (send) me as far as Bayath-Al (Bethel).” Alayashai (Elisha) amar (spoke), “As Yahawah () chay (life), and as your napash (soul) chay (life), I will not izab (leave) you.” So they yarad (went) down to Bayath-Al (Bethel).
3 The banay (sons) of the nabayaayam (prophets) who were at Bayath-Al (Bethel) yatzaa (go out / come out) out to Alayashai (Elisha), and amar (spoke) to him, “Do you yadai (know) that Yahawah () will laqach (take / seize) away your adawan (master / lord) from your raash (head) today?” He amar (spoke), “Yes, I yadai (know) it; hold your chashah (peace).”
4 Alayah (Elijah) amar (spoke) to him, “Alayashai (Elisha), please wait here, for Yahawah () has shalach (send) me to Yarayachaw (Jericho).” He amar (spoke), “As Yahawah () chay (life), and as your napash (soul) chay (life), I will not izab (leave) you.” So they bawaa (come) to Yarayachaw (Jericho).
5 The banay (sons) of the nabayaayam (prophets) who were at Yarayachaw (Jericho) nagash (came) near to Alayashai (Elisha), and amar (spoke) to him, “Do you yadai (know) that Yahawah () will laqach (take / seize) away your adawan (master / lord) from your raash (head) today?” He amar (spoke), “Yes, I yadai (know) it. Hold your chashah (peace).”
6 Alayah (Elijah) amar (spoke) to him, “Please wait here, for Yahawah () has shalach (send) me to the Yaradan (Jordan).” He amar (spoke), “As Yahawah () chay (life), and as your napash (soul) chay (life), I will not izab (leave) you.” They shanayam (two) yalak (went) on.
7 Chamashayam (fifty) ayash (man / husband) of the banay (my son) of the nabayaayam (prophets) halak (move), and imad (stood) opposite them at a distance; and they shanayam (two) imad (stood) by the Yaradan (Jordan).
8 Alayah (Elijah) laqach (take / seize) his adarath (mantle), and galam (wrapped) it together, and nakah (struck) the mayam (Waters), and they were chatzah (divided) here and there, so that they shanayam (two) ibar (pass over/through) over on dry charabah (ground).
9 It happened, when they ibar (pass over/through) gone over, that Alayah (Elijah) amar (said) to Alayashai (Elisha), “shaal (ask) what I shall ishah (make) for you, before I am laqach (take / seize) from you.” Alayashai (Elisha) amar (said), “Please let a shanayam (two) pah (portion) of your rawach (spirit / wind) be on me.”
10 He amar (said), “You have shaal (asked) a qashah (rough / hard) thing. If you raah (see / saw) me when I am laqach (take / seize) from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.”
11 It happened, as they still halak (move) on, and dabar (word / matter), that behold, a rakab (chariot) of ash (fire) and sawasay (horses) of ash (fire) parad (separated) them; and Alayah (Elijah) ilah (go up / offer) up by a sair (whirlwind) into shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens).
12 Alayashai (Elisha) raah (see / saw) it, and he tzaiq (cried), “My ab (father), my ab (father), the rakab (chariots) of Yashar-Al (Israel) and its horsemen!” He raah (see / saw) him no more: and he chazaq (took) hold of his own clothes, and qarai (tore) them in shanayam (two) qaraiyam (pieces).
13 He rawam (will lift up) up also the adarath (mantle) of Alayah (Elijah) that napal (fall / be cast down) from him, and shawab (turn) back, and imad (stood) by the shapah (bank) of the Yaradan (Jordan).
14 He laqach (take / seize) the adarath (mantle) of Alayah (Elijah) that napal (fall / be cast down) from him, and nakah (struck) the mayam (Waters), and amar (spoke), “Where is Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Alayah (Elijah)?” When he also had nakah (struck) the mayam (Waters), they were chatzah (divided) here and there; and Alayashai (Elisha) ibar (pass over/through) over.
15 When the banay (my son) of the nabayaayam (prophets) who were at Yarayachaw (Jericho) over against him raah (see / saw) him, they amar (said), “The rawach (spirit / wind) of Alayah (Elijah) nawach (rests) on Alayashai (Elisha).” They bawaa (bring) to qaraah (meet) him, and shachah (bowed) themselves to the aratz (Earth/land) before him.
16 They amar (spoke) to him, “See now, there are with your ibad (servant) chamashayam (fifty) chayal (wealth / substance / capability / valor) banay (men). Please yalak (let) them go and baqash (seek) your adawan (master / lord). Perhaps the rawach (spirit / wind) of Yahawah () has nashaa (lift) him up, and put him on some har (mountain), or into some gayaa (valley).” He amar (spoke), “You shall not shalach (send) them.”
17 When they patzar (urged) him until he was bawash (ashamed), he amar (said), “shalach (send) them.” They shalach (send) therefore chamashayam (fifty) ayash (man / husband); and they searched for shalawash (three) yamayam (days), but didn't matzaa (find) him.
18 They shawab (turn) back to him, while he stayed at Yarayachaw (Jericho); and he amar (said) to them, “Didn't I amar (said) you, ‘Don't yalak (go)?’”
19 The anashay (men) of the iyar (city) amar (spoke) to Alayashai (Elisha), “Behold, please, the mawashab (situation) of this iyar (city) is tawab (good / proper function), as my Adawan () raah (see); but the mayam (Waters) is rai (bad), and the aratz (Earth/land) shakal (miscarries).”
20 He amar (said), “laqach (take / seize) me a chadash (new) jar, and shawam (place / establish / appoint) malach (salt) in it.” They laqach (take / seize) it to him.
21 He yatzaa (go out / come out) out to the mawatzaa (spring) of the mayam (Waters), and shalak (threw) malach (salt) into it, and amar (spoke), “Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), ‘I have rapaa (healed) these mayam (Waters). There shall not be from there any more mawath (death) or shakal (miscarrying).’”
22 So the mayam (Waters) were rapaa (healed) to this yawam (day), according to the dabar (word / matter) of Alayashai (Elisha) which he dabar (word / matter).
23 He ilah (go up / offer) up from there to Bayath-Al (Bethel). As he was ilah (go up / offer) up by the darak (way), some youths yatzaa (go out / come out) out of the iyar (city) and qalas (mocked) him, and amar (said) to him, “ilah (go up / offer) up, you baldy! Ilah (go up / offer) up, you baldhead!”
24 He raah (see) achar (other) him and raah (see) them, and qalal (cursed) them in the sham (name) of Yahawah (). Shanayam (two) female dabayam (bears) yatzaa (go out / come out) out of the yair (woods), and mauled arabaiyam (forty) - shanayam (two) of those youths.
25 He yalak (went) from there to har (mountain) Karamal (Carmel), and from there he shawab (turn) to Shamarawan (Samaria).
