Deuteronomy 6 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Now this is the matzawah (commandment), the chaqayam (statutes), and the mashapatayam (ordinances), which Yahawah () your Alahayam () tzawah (commanded) to lamad (teach / instruct) you, that you might ishah (make) them in the aratz (Earth/land) where you ibar (pass over/through) over to yarash (possess) it;

that you might yaraa (fear) Yahawah () your Alahayam (), to shamar (keep/guard) all his chaqah (statutes) and his matzawah (commandments), which I tzawah (command) you, you, and your ban (son), and your ban (son) ban (son), kal (every) yawamay (day) of your chay (life); and that your yawam (day) may be prolonged.

Shamai (hearken / hear) therefore, Yashar-Al (Israel), and shamar (keep/guard) to ishah (make) it; that it may be yatab (well) with you, and that you may rabah (increase) mightily, as Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of your ab (father), has dabar (word / matter) to you, in a aratz (Earth/land) zawab (flow) with chalab (milk) and dabash (honey).

Shamai (hearken / hear), Yashar-Al (Israel): Yahawah () is our Alahayam (); Yahawah () is achad (one):

And you shall ahab (love) Yahawah () your Alahayam () with all your labab (heart), and with all your napash (soul), and with all your maad (might).

These dabarayam (words), which I tzawah (command) you this yawam (day), shall be on your labab (heart);

and you shall shanan (teach) them diligently to your ban (son), and shall dabar (word / matter) of them when you yashab (inhabit/dwell) in your bayath (house), and when you yalak (walk) by the darak (way), and when you shakab (lie) down, and when you qawam (rise up).

You shall qashar (bind) them for an awath (sign) on your yad (hand), and they shall be the tawapapah (point) of focus bayan (between) your iyan (eye).

You shall kathab (write) them on the mazawazah (door) posts of your bayath (house), and on your shair (gates).

It shall be, when Yahawah () your Alahayam () shall bawaa (come) you into the aratz (Earth/land) which he shabai (swear / take oath) to your ab (father), to Abaraham (Abraham), to Yatzachaq (Isaac), and to Yaiqab (Jacob), to nathan (give) you, gadawal (very great/important/mighty) and goodly irayam (cities), which you didn't banah (build),

And bathayam (houses) malaa (full) of all tawab (good / proper function) things, which you didn't malaa (fill), and barath (cisterns) chatzab (dug) out, which you didn't chatzab (dig), karamayam (vineyards) and zayath (olive) trees, which you didn't natai (plant), and you shall akal (eat) and be shabai (full);

Then beware lest you shakach (forget) Yahawah (), who yatzaa (go out / come out) you forth out of the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt), out of the bayath (house) of ibad (servant).

You shall yaraa (fear / be afraid) Yahawah () your Alahayam (); and you shall ibad (servant) him, and shall shabai (swear / take oath) by his sham (name).

You shall not yalak (go) achar (other) other Alahayam (), of the Alahayam () of the imayam (peoples) who are around you;

For Yahawah () your Alahayam () in the qarab (among / near) of you is a qanaa (jealous) Al; lest the ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) of Yahawah () your Alahayam () be charah (hot with anger) against you, and he shamad (destroy) you from off the panayam (face) of the adamah (earth).

You shall not nasah (tempt) Yahawah () your Alahayam (), as you nasah (tempted) him in Masah (Massah).

You shall diligently shamar (keep/guard) the matzawath (commandments) of Yahawah () your Alahayam (), and his idah (testimonies), and his chaq (statute), which he has tzawah (commanded) you.

You shall ishah (make) that which is yashar (upright) and tawab (good / proper function) in the iyan (eye) of Yahawah (); that it may be yatab (well) with you, and that you may bawaa (come) in and yarash (possess) the tawab (good / proper function) aratz (Earth/land) which Yahawah () shabai (swear / take oath) to your ab (father),

To hadap (thrust) out all your ayab (enemy) from panayam (face) you, as Yahawah () has dabar (word / matter).

When your ban (son) shaal (asks) you in machar (time) to come, amar (spoke), “What do the idath (testimonies), the chaqayam (statutes), and the mashapatayam (ordinances), which Yahawah () our Alahayam () has tzawah (commanded) you mean?”

Then you shall amar (spoke) your ban (son), “We were Paraih (Pharaoh's) ibadayam (bondservants) in Matzarayam (Egypt): and Yahawah () yatzaa (go out / come out) us out of Matzarayam (Egypt) with a chazaq (mighty) yad (hand);

And Yahawah () showed gadawal (very great/important/mighty) and awesome awathath (signs) and mapathayam (wonders) on Matzarayam (Egypt), on Paraih (Pharaoh), and on all his bayath (house), before our iyan (eye);

And he yatzaa (go out / come out) us out from there, that he might bawaa (bring) us in, to nathan (give) us the aratz (Earth/land) which he shabai (swear / take oath) to our ab (father).

Yahawah () tzawah (commanded) us to ishah (make) all these chaqayam (statutes), to yaraa (fear / be afraid) Yahawah () our Alahayam (), for our tawab (good / proper function) yamayam (always), that he might chayah (preserve) us alive, as at this yawam (day).

It shall be tzadaqah (righteousness) to us, if we shamar (keep/guard) to ishah (make) all zaath (this) matzawah (commandment) panayam (face) Yahawah () our Alahayam (), as he has tzawah (commanded) us.”
