When the im (nation / people) raah (see) that Mashah (Moses) bawash (delayed) to yarad (come) down from the har (mountain), the im (nation / people) qahal (gathered) themselves together to Aharawan (Aaron), and amar (spoke) to him, “Come, ishah (make) us Alahayam (), which shall yalak (go) panayam (face) us; for as for this Mashah (Moses), the ayash (man / husband) who ilah (go up / offer) us up out of the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt), we don't yadai (know) what has become of him.”
Aharawan (Aaron) amar (said) to them, “Take off the zahab (gold) rings, which are in the azanay (ears) of your wives, of your ban (son), and of your banath (daughter), and bawaa (bring) them to me.”
All the im (nation / people) took off the zahab (gold) rings which were in their azan (ear), and bawaa (bring) them to Aharawan (Aaron).
He laqach (take / seize) what they yad (hand) him, and yatzar (fashioned) it with an engraving charat (tool), and ishah (make) it a masakah (molten) igal (calf); and they amar (spoke), “These are your Alahayam (), Yashar-Al (Israel), which ilah (go up / offer) you up out of the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt).”
When Aharawan (Aaron) raah (see) this, he banah (build) an mazabach (altar) panayam (face) it; and Aharawan (Aaron) made a proclamation, and amar (spoke), “machar (tomorrow) shall be a chag (feast/festival) to Yahawah ().”
They shakam (rose) up early on the next macharath (day), and ilah (go up / offer) burnt ilath (offerings), and nagash (brought) shalam (peace) offerings; and the im (nation / people) yashab (inhabit/dwell) down to akal (eat) and to shathah (drinks), and qawam (rise up) up to tzachaq (play).
Yahawah () dabar (word / matter) to Mashah (Moses), “yalak (go), yarad (get) down; for your im (nation / people), who you ilah (go up / offer) up out of the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt), have shachath (corrupted) themselves!
They have sawar (turned) aside mahar (quickly) out of the darak (way) which I tzawah (commanded) them. They ishah (make) made themselves a masakah (molten) igal (calf), and have shachah (worshiped) it, and have zabach (sacrificed) to it, and amar (spoke), ‘These are your Alahayam (), Yashar-Al (Israel), which ilah (go up / offer) you up out of the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt).’”
Yahawah () amar (spoke) to Mashah (Moses), “I raah (see) seen these im (nation / people), and behold, they are a stiff-necked im (nation / people).
Now therefore leave me yanach (alone), that my ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) may charah (hot with anger) hot against them, and that I may kalah (complete / finish) them; and I will ishah (make) of you a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) gaway (heathen / nation).”
Mashah (Moses) begged Yahawah () his Alahayam (), and amar (spoke), “Yahawah (), why does your ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) charah (hot with anger) hot against your im (nation / people), that you yatzaa (go out / come out) brought out of the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt) with gadawal (very great/important/mighty) kach (strength / mighty / power) and with a chazaq (mighty) yad (hand)?
Why should the Matzaray (Egyptians) amar (said), amar (said), ‘He yatzaa (go out / come out) them forth for rai (evil), to harag (kill) them in the harayam (mountains), and to kalah (complete / finish) them from the surface of the adamah (earth)?’ Shawab (turn) from your charawan (fierce) ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting), and nacham (turn away / repent) of this rai (evil) against your im (nation / people).
Zakar (remember) Abaraham (Abraham - Patriarch), Yatzachaq (Isaac), and Yashar-Al (Israel), your ibad (servant), to whom you shabai (swear / take oath) by your own self, and dabar (word / matter) to them, ‘I will rabah (multiply) your zarai (seed) as the kawakabay (stars) of the sky, and all this aratz (Earth/land) that I have amar (said) of I will nathan (give) to your zarai (seed), and they shall nachal (inherit) it iwalam (eternity).’”
Yahawah () nacham (turn away / repent) of the rai (evil) which he dabar (word / matter) he would ishah (make) to his im (nation / people).
Mashah (Moses) panah (turn), and yarad (went) down from the har (mountain), with the shanayam (two) tablets of the idawath (testimony) in his yad (hand); tablets that were kathab (write) on shanayam (two) their ibar (sides); on the one side and on the other they were kathab (write).
The tablets were the maishah (work) of Alahayam (), and the makathab (writing) was the makathab (writing) of Alahayam (), engraved on the lachath (tables).
When Yahawashawai (Joshua) shamai (hearken / hear) the qawal (sound / voice) of the im (nation / people) as they rai (shouted), he amar (said) to Mashah (Moses), “There is the qawal (sound / voice) of malachamah (war) in the machanah (camp).”
He amar (said), “It isn't the qawal (sound / voice) of those who inah (answer / respond) for victory, neither is it the qawal (sound / voice) of those who inah (answer / respond) for chalawashah (being) overcome; but the qawal (sound / voice) of those who qawal (sound / voice) that I shamai (hearken / hear).”
It happened, as soon as he qarab (come close) near to the machanah (camp), that he raah (see / saw) the igal (calf) and the machawalah (dance): and Mashah (Moses)’ ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) grew charah (hot with anger), and he shalak (threw) the tablets out of his yad (hand), and shabar (broke) them thachath (under) the har (mountain).
He laqach (take / seize) the igal (calf) which they ishah (make) made, and burnt it with ash (fire), tachan (ground) it to daqaq (powder), and zarah (scattered) it on the mayam (Waters), and made the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel) shaqah (drink) of it.
Mashah (Moses) amar (said) to Aharawan (Aaron), “What ishah (make) these im (nation / people) do to you, that you bawaa (bring) brought a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) chataah (sin) on them?”
Aharawan (Aaron) amar (spoke), “Don't let the ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting) of my Adawan () grow charah (hot with anger). You yadai (know) the im (nation / people), that they are set on rai (evil).
For they amar (spoke) to me, ‘ishah (make) us Alahayam (), which shall yalak (go) panayam (face) us; for as for this Mashah (Moses), the ayash (man / husband) who ilah (go up / offer) us up out of the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt), we don't yadai (know) what has become of him.’
I amar (said) to them, ‘Whoever has any zahab (gold), let them take it off:’ so they nathan (give) it to me; and I shalak (threw) it into the ash (fire), and out came this igal (calf).”
When Mashah (Moses) raah (see / saw) that the im (nation / people) had broken loose, (for Aharawan (Aaron) had parai (let) them loose for a derision among their qawam (rise up)),
Then Mashah (Moses) imad (stood) in the shair (gate) of the machanah (camp), and amar (spoke), “Whoever is on Yahawah () side, come to me!” All the banay (sons) of Laway (Levi) asap (gathered) themselves together to him.
He amar (spoke) to them, “Thus amar (spoke) Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel), ‘Every ayash (man / husband) shawam (place / establish / appoint) his charab (sword) on his yarak (thigh), and ibar (pass over/through) shawab (turn back / repent) and forth from shair (gate) to shair (gate) throughout the machanah (camp), and every ayash (man / husband) harag (kill) his ach (brother/kinsman), and every ayash (man / husband) his rai (neigbor/another person), and every ayash (man / husband) his neighbor.’”
The banay (my son) of Laway (Levi) ishah (make) according to the dabar (word / matter) of Mashah (Moses): and there napal (fall / be cast down) of the im (nation / people) that yawam (day) about shalawash (three) alap (thousand) ayash (man / husband).
Mashah (Moses) amar (spoke), “malaa (consecrate) yourselves today to Yahawah (), yes, every ayash (man / husband) against his ban (son), and against his ach (brother/kinsman); that he may nathan (give) on you a barakah (blessing) this yawam (day).”
It happened on the next macharath (day), that Mashah (Moses) amar (spoke) to the im (nation / people), “You have chataa (sinned) a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) chataah (sin). Now I will ilah (go up / offer) up to Yahawah (). Perhaps I shall make kapar (atonement) for your chataah (sin).”
Mashah (Moses) shawab (turn back / repent) to Yahawah (), and amar (spoke), “Oh, this im (nation / people) have chataa (sinned) a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) chataah (sin), and ishah (make) made themselves Alahayam () of zahab (gold).
Yet now, if you will, nashaa (lift) their sin—and if not, please machah (blot) me out of your sapar (book / scribed document) which you have kathab (write).”
Yahawah () amar (spoke) to Mashah (Moses), “Whoever has chataa (sinned) against me, him will I machah (blot) out of my sapar (book / scribed document).
Now yalak (go), nachah (lead) the im (nation / people) to the place of which I have dabar (word / matter) to you. Behold, my malaak (angel / messenger of Yah) shall yalak (go) panayam (face) you. Nevertheless in the yawam (day) when I paqad (visit), I will paqad (visit) them for their chataah (sin).”
Yahawah () nagap (struck) the im (nation / people), ashar (who/that) they ishah (make) the igal (calf), which Aharawan (Aaron) ishah (make).
