Exodus 9 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Then Yahawah () amar (spoke) to Mashah (Moses), “bawaa (come) in to Paraih (Pharaoh), and dabar (word / matter) him, ‘This is what Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of the ibarayam (hebrews), amar (spoke): “Let my im (nation / people) shalach (send), that they may ibad (servant) me.

For if you maan (refuse) to shalach (send) them go, and chazaq (hold) them still,

Behold, the yad (hand) of Yahawah () is on your livestock which are in the shadah (field), on the sawasayam (horses), on the donkeys, on the gamalayam (camels), on the baqar (morning), and on the tzaan (flocks) with a very kabad (grievous) dabar (word / matter).

Yahawah () will palah (make) a distinction between the livestock of Yashar-Al (Israel) and the livestock of Matzarayam (Egypt); and nothing shall mawath (death) of all that belongs to the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel).”’”

Yahawah () shawam (place / establish / appoint) a mawaid (Feast/Holy Day) time, amar (spoke), “machar (tomorrow) Yahawah () shall ishah (make) this thing in the aratz (Earth/land).”

Yahawah () ishah (make) that thing on the next macharath (day); and all the livestock of Matzaray (Egypt) mawath (death), but of the livestock of the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel), not achad (one) mawath (death).

Paraih (Pharaoh) shalach (send), and, behold, there was not so much as achad (one) of the livestock of the Yashar-Al (Israelites) mawath (death). But the lab (heart) of Paraih (Pharaoh) was stubborn, and he didn't let the im (nation / people) shalach (send).

Yahawah () amar (spoke) to Mashah (Moses) and to Aharawan (Aaron), “laqach (take / seize) to you chapan (handfuls) of ashes of the kabashan (furnace), and let Mashah (Moses) zaraq (sprinkle) it toward the sky in the iyan (eye) of Paraih (Pharaoh).

It shall become small abaq (dust) over all the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt), and shall be a shachayan (boil) parach (breaking) out with boils on adam (man) and on animal, throughout all the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt).”

They laqach (take / seize) ashes of the kabashan (furnace), and imad (stood) panayam (face) Paraih (Pharaoh); and Mashah (Moses) zaraq (sprinkled) it up toward the sky; and it became a shachayan (boil) parach (breaking) out with boils on adam (man) and on animal.

The charatamayam (magicians) couldn't imad (stand) panayam (face) Mashah (Moses) panayam (face) of the shachayan (boils); for the shachayan (boils) were on the charatamayam (magicians), and on all the Matzaray (Egyptians).

Yahawah () chazaq (hardened) the lab (heart) of Paraih (Pharaoh), and he didn't shamai (hearken / hear) to them, as Yahawah () had dabar (word / matter) to Mashah (Moses).

Yahawah () amar (spoke) to Mashah (Moses), “shakam (rise) up early in the baqar (morning), and yatzab (stand) panayam (face) Paraih (Pharaoh), and amar (spoke) him, ‘This is what Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of the ibarayam (hebrews), amar (spoke): “Let my im (nation / people) shalach (send), that they may ibad (servant) me.

For paim (this) time I will shalach (send) all my magapah (plagues) against your lab (heart), against your officials, and against your im (nation / people); that you may yadai (know) that there is none like me in all the aratz (Earth/land).

For now I would have shalach (send) out my yad (hand), and nakah (struck) you and your im (nation / people) with dabar (word / matter), and you would have been kachad (cut) off from the aratz (Earth/land);

But indeed for this cause I have imad (made) you stand: to show you my kach (strength / mighty / power), and that my sham (name) may be sapar (book) throughout all the aratz (Earth/land);

As you still salal (exalt) yourself against my im (nation / people), that you won't shalach (send) them go.

Behold, machar (tomorrow) about this ith (time) I will cause it to matar (rain) a very kabad (grievous) barad (hail), such as has not been in Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt) man (from) the yawam (day) it was founded even until now.

Now therefore command that all of your livestock and all that you have in the shadah (field) be brought into shelter. Every adam (man) and animal that is matzaa (found) in the shadah (field), and isn't asap (brought) bayath (house), the barad (hail) shall yarad (come) down on them, and they shall mawath (death).”’”

Those who yaraa (fear / be afraid) the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () among the ibaday (servants) of Paraih (Pharaoh) made their ibaday (servants) and their livestock nawas (flee) into the bathayam (houses).

Whoever didn't respect the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () izab (left) his ibad (servant) and his livestock in the shadah (field).

Yahawah () amar (spoke) to Mashah (Moses), “natah (stretch) out your yad (hand) toward the sky, that there may be barad (hail) in all the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt), on adam (man), and on animal, and on every ishab (herb) of the shadah (field), throughout the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt).”

Mashah (Moses) natah (stretched) out his matah (staff / rod / tribe) toward the shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens), and Yahawah () nathan (give) qawal (sound / voice), barad (hail), and lightning flashed down to the aratz (Earth/land). Yahawah () matar (rained) barad (hail) on the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Egypt).

So there was very severe barad (hail), and lightning mixed with the barad (hail), such as had not been in all the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt) since it became a gaway (heathen / nation).

The barad (hail) nakah (struck) throughout all the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt) all that was in the shadah (field), both adam (man) and animal; and the barad (hail) nakah (struck) every ishab (herb) of the shadah (field), and shabar (broke) every itz (tree) of the shadah (field).

Only in the aratz (Earth/land) of Gashan (Goshen), where the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel) were, there was no barad (hail).

Paraih (Pharaoh) shalach (send), and qaraa (called) for Mashah (Moses) and Aharawan (Aaron), and amar (spoke) to them, “I have chataa (sinned) paim (this) time. Yahawah () is tzadayaq (righteous), and I and my im (nation / people) are rashai (wicked).

Ithar (pray) to Yahawah (); for there rab (has) been enough of alahayam (God) qalath (thunderings) and barad (hail). I will shalach (send) you go, and you shall imad (stay) no yasap (longer).”

Mashah (Moses) amar (spoke) to him, “As soon as I yatzaa (go out / come out) gone out of the iyar (city), I will parash (spread) abroad my kap (hands) to Yahawah (). The qalawath (thunders) shall chadal (cease), neither shall there be any more barad (hail); that you may yadai (know) that the aratz (Earth/land) is Yahawah ().

But as for you and your ibad (servant), I yadai (know) that you don't yet yaraa (fear / be afraid) Yahawah () Alahayam ().”

The pashathah (flax) and the shairah (barley) were nakah (struck), for the shairah (barley) was in the abayab (ear), and the pashathah (flax) was in bloom.

But the chatah (wheat) and the spelt were not nakah (struck), for they had not apayal (grown) up.

Mashah (Moses) yatzaa (go out / come out) out of the iyar (city) from Paraih (Pharaoh), and parash (spread) abroad his kap (hands) to Yahawah (); and the qalawath (thunders) and barad (hail) chadal (ceased), and the matar (rain) was not nathak (poured) on the aratz (Earth/land).

When Paraih (Pharaoh) raah (see / saw) that the matar (rain) and the barad (hail) and the qalath (thunders) were chadal (ceased), he chataa (sinned) yet more, and kabad (hardened) his lab (heart), he and his ibad (servant).

The lab (heart) of Paraih (Pharaoh) was chazaq (hardened), and he didn't let the banay (children) of Yashar-Al (Israel) shalach (send), just as Yahawah () had dabar (word / matter) yad (hand) Mashah (Moses).
