1 The dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () came to me, amar (spoke),
2 “Ban (son) of adam (man), what is the gapan (vine) itz (tree) more than any itz (tree), the vine-branch which is among the itzay (trees) of the yair (forest)?
3 Shall itz (wood) be laqach (take / seize) of it to ishah (make) any malaakah (work)? Or will men laqach (take / seize) a yathad (pin) of it to thalah (hang) any kalay (vessel) thereon?
4 Behold, it is nathan (give) into the ash (fire) for fuel; the ash (fire) has akal (eat) shanayam (two) its ends, and its thawak (midst) is charar (burned): is it tzalach (profitable) for any malaakah (work)?
5 Behold, when it was thamayam (complete / whole), it was ishah (make) for no malaakah (work): how much less, when the ash (fire) has akal (eat) it, and it is charar (burned), shall it yet be ishah (make) for any malaakah (work)!”
6 Therefore thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “As the gapan (vine) itz (tree) among the itz (trees) of the yair (forest), which I nathan (give) given to the ash (fire) for fuel, so will I nathan (give) the yashabay (inhabitants) of Yarawashalam (Jerusalem).
7 I will nathan (give) my panayam (face) against them; they shall yatzaa (go out / come out) forth from the ash (fire), but the ash (fire) shall akal (eat) them; and you shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah (), when I shawam (place / establish / appoint) my panayam (face) against them.
8 I will nathan (give) the aratz (Earth/land) shamamah (desolate), because they have mail (top/above) a mail (top/above),” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().
