Ezekiel 34 — English–Hebrew Parallel

The dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () came to me, amar (spoke),

“Ban (son) of adam (man), nabaa (prophesy) against the rawaiy (shepherds) of Yashar-Al (Israel), nabaa (prophesy), and amar (spoke) them, even to the rawaiy (shepherds), ‘Thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “haway (Alas/Woe!) To the rawaiy (shepherds) of Yashar-Al (Israel) who raih (feed) themselves! Shouldn't the rawaiy (shepherds) raih (feed) the tzaan (sheep)?

You akal (eat) the chalab (fat), and you labash (clothe) yourself with the tzamar (wool), you zabach (kill) the fatlings; but you don't barayaa (feed) the tzaan (sheep).

You haven't chazaq (strengthened) the chalah (afflict), neither have you rapaa (healed) that which was chalah (afflict), neither have you chabash (bound) up that which was shabar (broken), neither have you shawab (turn) back that which was nadach (driven) away, neither have you baqash (sought) that which was abad (destroy / perish); but with chazaqah (force) and with rigor you radah (rule over / have dominion of / subdue) ruled over them.

They were pawatz (scattered), because there was no raih (shepherd); and they became akalah (food) to all the animals of the shadah (field), and were pawatz (scattered).

My tzaan (sheep) shagah (wandered) through all the harayam (mountains), and on every rawam (will lift up) gabaih (hill): yes, my tzaan (sheep) were pawatz (scattered) on all the surface of the aratz (Earth/land); and there was none who darash (searched) or baqash (sought).”

“‘Therefore, you raiyam (shepherds), shamai (hearken / hear) the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah ():

“As I chay (life),” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah (), “surely because my tzaan (sheep) became a baz (prey), and my tzaan (sheep) became akalah (food) to all the animals of the shadah (field), because there was no raih (shepherd), neither did my yaraiw (shepherds) darash (search) for my tzaan (sheep), but the yaraiw (shepherds) raih (fed) themselves, and didn't raih (feed) my tzaan (sheep);”

Therefore, you raiyam (shepherds), shamai (hearken / hear) the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah ():

Thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “Behold, I am against the raiyam (shepherds); and I will darash (require) my tzaan (sheep) at their yad (hand), and shabath (shabath / rest) them to cease from raih (feeding) the tzaan (sheep); neither shall the raiyam (shepherds) raih (feed) themselves any more; and I will natzal (deliver) my tzaan (sheep) from their pah (mouth), that they may not be akalah (food) for them.”

“‘For thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “Behold, I myself, even I, will darash (search) for my tzaan (sheep), and will baqar (morning) them out.

As a raih (shepherd) baqarah (seeks) out his idar (flock) in the yawam (day) that he is thawak (midst) his tzaan (sheep) that are parash (scattered) abroad, so will I baqar (morning) out my tzaan (sheep); and I will natzal (deliver) them out of all maqawamath (places) where they have been pawatz (scattered) in the inan (cloud) and irapal (dark) yawam (day).

I will yatzaa (go out / come out) them out from the imayam (peoples), and qabatz (gather) them from the aratzawath (countries), and will bawaa (bring) them into their own adamah (land); and I will raih (feed) them on the haray (mountains) of Yashar-Al (Israel), by the watercourses, and in all the mawashab (inhabited) places of the aratz (Earth/land).

I will raih (feed) them with tawab (good / proper function) maraih (pasture); and on the haray (mountains) of the marawam (height) of Yashar-Al (Israel) shall their nawah (habitation) be: there shall they rabatz (lie) down in a tawab (good / proper function) nawah (habitation); and on shaman (fat) maraih (pasture) shall they raih (feed) on the haray (mountains) of Yashar-Al (Israel).

I myself will be the raih (shepherd) of my tzaan (sheep), and I will rabatz (cause) them to lie down,” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().

“I will baqash (seek) that which was abad (destroy / perish), and will shawab (turn) back that which was nadach (driven) away, and will chabash (bind) up that which was shabar (broken), and will chazaq (strengthen) that which was chalah (afflict): but the shaman (fat) and the chazaq (strong) I will shamad (destroy); I will raih (feed) them in mashapat (justice).”’

“As for you, O my tzaan (flock), thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): ‘Behold, I shapat (judge / judgement) between shah (sheep) and shah (sheep), the ayalayam (rams) and the male ithawadayam (goats).

Does it seem a mait (small) thing to you to have raih (fed) on the tawab (good / proper function) maraih (pasture), but you must ramas (tread) down with your ragal (feet / foot) the yathar (residue) of your maraih (pasture)? And to have shathah (drinks) of the clear mayam (Waters), but you must rapash (foul) the yathar (residue) with your ragal (feet / foot)?

As for my tzaan (sheep), they raih (eat) that which you have maramas (trodden) with your ragal (feet / foot), and they shathah (drinks) that which you marapash (have) fouled with your ragal (feet / foot).’

“Therefore thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah () to them: ‘Behold, I, even I, will shapat (judge / judgement) between the baray (fat) shah (sheep) and the razah (lean) shah (sheep).

Because you hadap (thrust) with tzad (side) and with kathap (shoulder), and nagach (push) all the chalah (afflict) with your qaran (horn), until you have pawatz (scattered) them chawatz (abroad);

Therefore will I yashai (salvation) my tzaan (flock), and they shall no more be a baz (prey); and I will shapat (judge / judgement) between shah (sheep) and shah (sheep).

I will qawam (rise up) up achad (one) raih (shepherd) over them, and he shall raih (feed) them, even my ibad (servant) Dawad (David); he shall raih (feed) them, and he shall be their raih (shepherd).

I, Yahawah (), will be their Alahayam (), and my ibad (servant) Dawad (David) nashayaa (prince) thawak (midst) them; I, Yahawah (), have dabar (word / matter) it.

“‘I will karath (cut) with them a barayath (covenant) of shalawam (peace / safety), and will cause rai (evil) animals to shabath (shabath / rest) out of the aratz (Earth/land); and they shall yashab (inhabit/dwell) securely in the madabar (wilderness), and sleep in the yairayam (woods).

I will nathan (give) them and the sabayabawath (places) around my gabaih (hill) a barakah (blessing); and I will cause the gasham (shower) to yarad (come) down in its ith (season); there shall be gashamay (showers) of barakah (blessing).

The itz (tree) of the shadah (field) shall nathan (give) its paray (fruit), and the aratz (Earth/land) shall nathan (give) its yabawal (increase), and they shall be batach (secure) in their adamah (land); and they shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah (), when I have shabar (broken) the bars of their il (over), and have natzal (delivered) them out of the yad (hand) of those who ibad (servant) slaves of them.

They shall no more be a baz (prey) to the gawayam (heathen), neither shall the animals of the aratz (Earth/land) akal (eat) them; but they shall yashab (inhabit/dwell) securely, and none shall make them charad (afraid).

I will qawam (rise up) up to them a plantation for sham (name), and they shall be no more asap (consumed) with raib (famine) in the aratz (Earth/land), neither nashaa (lift) the kalamah (shame) of the gawayam (heathen) any more.

They shall yadai (know) that I, Yahawah (), their Alahayam () am with them, and that they, the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel), are my im (nation / people), naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().

You my tzaan (sheep), the tzaan (sheep) of my maraiyath (pasture), are adam (men), and I am your Alahayam (),’ naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().”
