Ezekiel 39 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 “You, ban (son) of adam (man), nabaa (prophesy) against Gawag (Gog), and amar (spoke), ‘Thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): “Behold, I am against you, Gawag (Gog), raash (head) of Rosh, Mashak (Meshech), and Thawabal (Tubal):

2 And I will shawab (turn) you around, and will lead you on, and will ilah (go up / offer) you to come up from the uttermost yarakathay (parts) of the tzapawan (north); and I will bawaa (bring) you on the haray (mountains) of Yashar-Al (Israel);

3 And I will nakah (strike) your qashath (bow) out of your shamaawal (left hand) yad (hand), and will cause your chatz (arrows) to napal (fall / be cast down) out of your yamayan (right hand) yad (hand).

4 You shall napal (fall / be cast down) on the haray (mountains) of Yashar-Al (Israel), you, and all your hordes, and the imayam (peoples) who are with you: I will nathan (give) you to the iyat (ravenous) tzapawar (birds) of every kanap (sort), and to the animals of the shadah (field) to be akalah (devoured).

5 You shall napal (fall / be cast down) on the panayam (face) shadah (field); for I have dabar (word / matter) it,” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().

6 “I will shalach (send) a ash (fire) on Magawag (Magog), and on those who yashab (inhabit/dwell) securely in the ayayam (islands); and they shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah ().

7 “‘“My qadash (set apart / make holy) sham (name) yadai (will) I make known in the thawak (midst) of my im (nation / people) Yashar-Al (Israel); neither will I allow my qadash (set apart / make holy) sham (name) to be chalal (profaned) any more: and the gawayam (nations) shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah (), the qadawash (holy) One in Yashar-Al (Israel).

8 Behold, it bawaa (come), and it shall be hayah (came to pass),” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah (); “this is the yawam (day) about which I have dabar (word / matter).

9 “‘“Those who yashab (inhabit/dwell) in the iray (cities) of Yashar-Al (Israel) shall yatzaa (go out / come out) forth, and shall make ash (fire) of the nashaq (weapons) and nashaq (burn) them, both the magan (shield) and the tzanah (bucklers), the qashath (bows) and the chatzayam (arrows), and the war clubs, and the ramach (spears), and they shall make ash (fire) of them shabai (seven) shanayam (two);

10 So that they shall nashaa (lift) no itz (wood) out of the shadah (field), neither chatab (cut) down any out of the yairayam (forests); for they shall make ash (fire) of the nashaq (weapons); and they shall plunder those who plundered them, and bazaz (rob) those who bazaz (robbed) them,” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().

11 “‘“It shall happen in that yawam (day), that I will nathan (give) to Gawag (Gog) a maqawam (place) for burial in Yashar-Al (Israel), the gayaa (valley) of those who ibar (pass over/through) through on the qadamah (east) of the yam (sea/waters); and it shall chasam (stop) those who ibar (pass over/through) through: and there shall they qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher) Gawag (Gog) and all his hamawan (multitude); and they shall qaraa (called) it ‘The gayaa (valley) of Hamawanagawag (Hamon Gog)’.

12 “‘“Shabai (seven) chadashayam (months) shall the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel) be qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher) them, that they may tahar (cleanse) the aratz (Earth/land).

13 Yes, all the im (nation / people) of the aratz (Earth/land) shall qabar (bury) them; and it shall be to them a sham (name) in the yawam (day) that I shall be kabad (glorified),” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().

14 “‘“They shall set apart anashay (men) of thamayad (continual) employment, who shall ibar (pass over/through) through the aratz (Earth/land), and, with those who ibar (pass over/through) through, those who qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher) those who yathar (remain) on the surface of the aratz (Earth/land), to tahar (cleanse) it: qatzah (end / extremity / border) the end of shabai (seven) chadashayam (months) shall they chaqar (search).

15 Those who ibar (pass over/through) through the aratz (Earth/land) shall ibar (pass over/through) through; and when any raah (see / saw) a adam (man's) itzam (bone), then shall he banah (build) up a tzayawan (visible marker/identifier/landmark) by it, until the undertakers have qabar (grave / tomb / sepulcher) it in the gayaa (valley) of Hamawanagawag (Hamon Gog).

16 Hamawanah (Hamonah) shall also be the sham (name) of a iyar (city). Thus shall they tahar (cleanse) the aratz (Earth/land).”’

17 “You, ban (son) of adam (man), thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): ‘amar (spoke) to the tzapawar (birds) of every kanap (sort), and to every animal of the shadah (field), “qabatz (assemble) yourselves, and bawaa (come); asap (gather) yourselves on sabayab (surrounding) side to my zabach (sacrifice) that I do zabach (sacrifice) for you, even a gadawal (very great/important/mighty) zabach (sacrifice) on the haray (mountains) of Yashar-Al (Israel), that you may akal (eat) bashar (flesh) and shathah (drinks) dam (blood).

18 You shall akal (eat) the bashar (flesh) of the gabawar (mighty), and shathah (drinks) the dam (blood) of the nashayaay (princes) of the aratz (Earth/land), of ayalayam (rams), of karayam (lambs), and of ithawadayam (goats), of parayam (bulls), all of them fatlings of Bashan (Bashan).

19 You shall akal (eat) chalab (fat) until you be shabaih (seven), and shathah (drinks) dam (blood) until you are shakarawan (drunk), of my zabach (sacrifice) which I have zabach (sacrificed) for you.

20 You shall be shabai (filled) at my shalachan (table) with sawas (horses) and rakab (chariots), with gabawar (mighty) men, and with all ayash (man / husband) of malachamah (war),” naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().’

21 “I will nathan (give) my kabawad (glory) among the gawayam (heathen); and all the gawayam (heathen) shall raah (see / saw) my mashapat (judgment) that I ishah (make) executed, and my yad (hand) that I have shawam (place / establish / appoint) on them.

22 So the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel) shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah () their Alahayam (), from that yawam (day) and halaah (forward).

23 The gawayam (heathen) shall yadai (know) that the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel) galah (went) into captivity for their iwan (guilt/iniquity); because they mail (top/above) against me, and I sathar (hid) my panayam (face) from them: so I nathan (give) them into the yad (hand) of their tzar (oppressor / distressor), and they napal (fall / be cast down) all of them by the charab (sword).

24 According to their tamaah (uncleanness) and according to their pashai (transgressions) ishah (make) I to them; and I sathar (hid) my panayam (face) from them.

25 “Therefore thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): ‘Now will I shawab (turn back / repent) back the shabawath (captivity) of Yaiqab (Jacob), and have racham (show mercy / love) on the whole bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel); and I will be qanaa (jealous) for my qadash (set apart / make holy) sham (name).

26 They shall nashaa (lift) their kalamah (shame), and all their trespasses by which they have mail (top/above) against me, when they shall yashab (inhabit/dwell) securely in their adamah (land), and none shall make them charad (afraid);

27 When I have shawab (turn) them back from the imayam (peoples), and qabatz (gathered) them out of their ayab (enemy)’ aratzawath (lands), and am qadash (set apart / make holy) in them in the iyan (eye) of many gawayam (heathen).

28 They shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah () their Alahayam (), in that I caused them to galah (go) into captivity among the gawayam (nations), and have kanas (gathered) them to their own adamah (land); and I will yathar (leave) none of them any more there;

29 Neither will I sathar (hide) my panayam (face) any more from them; for I have shapak (poured) out my rawach (spirit / wind) on the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel),’ naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().”
