Ezekiel 48 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 “Now these are the shamawath (names) of the shabatayam (tribes): From the tzapawan (north) qatzah (end / extremity / border), yad (hand) the darak (way) of Chathalan (Hethlon) to the entrance of Chamath (Hamath), Chatzar-Iyanan (Hazar Enan) at the gabawal (border/boundary) of Damashaq (Damascus), northward yad (hand) Chamath (Hamath), (and they shall have their paah (sides) qadayam (east) and yam (sea/waters)), Dan (Dan), achad (one) portion.

2 “By the gabawal (border/boundary) of Dan (Dan), from the qadayam (east) paah (side) to the yam (sea/waters) paah (side), Ashar (who/that), achad (one) portion.

3 “By the gabawal (border/boundary) of Ashar (who/that), from the qadayam (east) paah (side) even to the yam (sea/waters) paah (side), Napathalay (Naphtali), achad (one) portion.

4 “By the gabawal (border/boundary) of Napathalay (Naphtali), from the qadayam (east) paah (side) to the yam (sea/waters) paah (side), Manashah (Manasseh), achad (one) portion.

5 “By the gabawal (border/boundary) of Manashah (Manasseh), from the qadayam (east) paah (side) to the yam (sea/waters) paah (side), Aparayam (Ephraim), achad (one) portion.

6 “By the gabawal (border/boundary) of Aparayam (Ephraim), from the qadayam (east) paah (side) even to the yam (sea/waters) paah (side), Raawaban (Reuben), achad (one) portion.

7 “By the gabawal (border/boundary) of Raawaban (Reuben), from the qadayam (east) paah (side) to the yam (sea/waters) paah (side), Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), achad (one) portion.

8 “By the gabawal (border/boundary) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), from the qadayam (east) paah (side) to the yam (sea/waters) paah (side), shall be the tharawamah (offering) which you shall rawam (will lift up), twenty - five alap (thousand) reeds in rachab (breadth), and in arak (length) as achad (one) of the chalaqayam (portions), from the qadayam (east) paah (side) to the yam (sea/waters) paah (side): and the maqadash (sanctuary) shall be in its thawak (midst).

9 “The tharawamah (offering) that you shall rawam (will lift up) to Yahawah () shall be isharayam (twenty) - chamash (five) alap (thousand) reeds in arak (length), and ishar (ten) alap (thousand) in rachab (breadth).

10 For these, even for the kahanayam (priests), shall be the qadash (set apart / make holy) tharawamah (offering): toward the tzapawan (north) isharayam (twenty) - chamash (five) alap (thousand) in length, and toward the yam (sea/waters) ishar (ten) alap (thousand) in rachab (breadth), and toward the qadayam (east) ishar (ten) alap (thousand) in rachab (breadth), and toward the nagab (south) isharayam (twenty) - chamash (five) alap (thousand) in arak (length): and the maqadash (sanctuary) of Yahawah () shall be in its thawak (midst).

11 It shall be for the kahanayam (priests) who are qadash (set apart / make holy) of the banay (my son) of Tzadawaq (Zadok), who have shamar (keep/guard) my instruction, who didn't thaih (go) astray when the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel) thaih (went) astray, as the Lawayay (Levites) thaih (went) astray.

12 It shall be to them an tharawamayah (offering) from the tharawamah (offering) of the aratz (Earth/land), a thing most qadash (set apart / make holy), by the gabawal (border/boundary) of the Lawayay (Levites).

13 “Answerable to the gabawal (border/boundary) of the kahanayam (priests), the Lawayay (Levites) shall have isharayam (twenty) - chamash (five) alap (thousand) in arak (length), and ishar (ten) alap (thousand) in rachab (breadth): all the arak (length) shall be isharayam (twenty) - chamash (five) alap (thousand), and the rachab (breadth) ishar (ten) alap (thousand).

14 They shall makar (sell) none of it, nor mawar (exchange) it, nor shall the raashayath (beginning) fruits of the aratz (Earth/land) be ibar (pass over/through); for it is qadash (set apart / make holy) to Yahawah ().

15 “The chamash (five) alap (thousand) that are yathar (left) in the rachab (breadth), in panayam (face) of the isharayam (twenty) - chamash (five) alap (thousand), shall be for chal (common) use, for the iyar (city), for mawashab (dwelling) and for magarash (suburbs); and the iyar (city) shall be in its thawak (midst).

16 These shall be its madah (measures): the tzapawan (north) paah (side) arabai (four) alap (thousand) and chamash (five) maah (hundred), and the nagab (south) paah (side) arabai (four) alap (thousand) and chamash (five) maah (hundred), and on the qadayam (east) paah (side) arabai (four) alap (thousand) and chamash (five) maah (hundred), and the yam (sea/waters) paah (side) arabai (four) alap (thousand) and chamash (five) maah (hundred).

17 The iyar (city) shall have magarash (suburbs): toward the tzapawan (north) two maah (hundred) chamashayam (fifty), and toward the nagab (south) two maah (hundred) chamashayam (fifty), and toward the qadayam (east) two maah (hundred) chamashayam (fifty), and toward the yam (sea/waters) two maah (hundred) chamashayam (fifty).

18 The remainder in the arak (length), answerable to the qadash (set apart / make holy) tharawamah (offering), shall be ishar (ten) alap (thousand) eastward, and ishar (ten) alap (thousand) westward; and it shall be answerable to the qadash (set apart / make holy) tharawamah (offering); and its thabawaah (increase) shall be for lacham (food) to those who ibad (servant) in the iyar (city).

19 Those who ibad (servant) in the iyar (city), out of all the shabatay (tribes) of Yashar-Al (Israel), shall cultivate it.

20 All the tharawamah (offering) shall be isharayam (twenty) - chamash (five) alap (thousand) by isharayam (twenty) - chamash (five) alap (thousand): you shall rawam (will lift up) the qadash (set apart / make holy) tharawamah (offering) rabayaiy (foursquare), with the achazah (possession) of the iyar (city).

21 “The yathar (residue) shall be for the nashayaa (prince), on the one side and on the other of the qadash (set apart / make holy) tharawamah (offering) and of the achazah (possession) of the iyar (city); in panayam (face) of the isharayam (twenty) - chamash (five) alap (thousand) of the tharawamah (offering) toward the qadayam (east) gabawal (border/boundary), and westward in panayam (face) of the isharayam (twenty) - chamash (five) alap (thousand) toward the yam (sea/waters) gabawal (border/boundary), answerable to the chalaqayam (portions), it shall be for the nashayaa (prince): and the qadash (set apart / make holy) tharawamah (offering) and the maqadash (sanctuary) of the bayath (house) shall be in its thawak (midst).

22 Moreover from the achazah (possession) of the Lawayay (Levites), and from the achazah (possession) of the iyar (city), being in the thawak (midst) of that which is the nashayaa (prince's), between the gabawal (border/boundary) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah) and the gabawal (border/boundary) of Banayamayan (Benjamin), it shall be for the nashayaa (prince).

23 “As for the yathar (rest) of the shabatayam (tribes): from the qadayam (east) paah (side) to the yam (sea/waters) paah (side), Banayamayan (Benjamin), achad (one) portion.

24 “By the gabawal (border/boundary) of Banayamayan (Benjamin), from the qadayam (east) paah (side) to the yam (sea/waters) paah (side), Shamaiwan (Simeon), achad (one) portion.

25 “By the gabawal (border/boundary) of Shamaiwan (Simeon), from the qadayam (east) paah (side) to the yam (sea/waters) paah (side), Yashashakar (Issachar), achad (one) portion.

26 “By the gabawal (border/boundary) of Yashashakar (Issachar), from the qadayam (east) paah (side) to the yam (sea/waters) paah (side), Zabawalawan (Zebulun), achad (one) portion.

27 “By the gabawal (border/boundary) of Zabawalawan (Zebulun), from the qadayam (east) paah (side) to the yam (sea/waters) paah (side), Gad (Gad), achad (one) portion.

28 “By the gabawal (border/boundary) of Gad (Gad), at the nagab (south) paah (side) southward, the gabawal (border/boundary) shall be even from Thamar (Tamar) to the may (waters) of Meribath Qadash (Kadesh), to the nachal (stream / river) of Matzarayam (Egypt), to the gadawal (very great/important/mighty) yam (sea/waters).

29 “This is the aratz (Earth/land) which you shall napal (fall / be cast down) by lot to the shabatay (tribes) of Yashar-Al (Israel) for nachalah (inheritance), and these are their several machalaqath (portions), naam (declares prophetically) the Adanay () Yahawah ().

30 “These are the exits of the iyar (city): On the tzapawan (north) paah (side) arabai (four) alap (thousand) and chamash (five) maah (hundred) reeds by madah (measure);

31 And the shairay (gates) of the iyar (city) shall be after the shamawath (names) of the shabatay (tribes) of Yashar-Al (Israel), shalawash (three) shairay (gates) northward: the shair (gate) of Raawaban (Reuben), achad (one); the shair (gate) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah), achad (one); the shair (gate) of Laway (Levi), achad (one).

32 “At the qadayam (east) paah (side) arabai (four) alap (thousand) and chamash (five) maah (hundred) reeds, and shalawash (three) shairayam (gates): even the shair (gate) of Yawasap (Joseph), achad (one); the shair (gate) of Banayamayan (Benjamin), achad (one); the shair (gate) of Dan (Dan), achad (one).

33 “At the nagab (south) paah (side) arabai (four) alap (thousand) and chamash (five) maah (hundred) reeds by madah (measure), and shalawash (three) shairayam (gates): the shair (gate) of Shamaiwan (Simeon), achad (one); the shair (gate) of Yashashakar (Issachar), achad (one); the shair (gate) of Zabawalawan (Zebulun), achad (one).

34 “At the yam (sea/waters) paah (side) arabai (four) alap (thousand) and chamash (five) maah (hundred) reeds, with their shalawash (three) shair (gates): the shair (gate) of Gad (Gad), achad (one); the shair (gate) of Ashar (who/that), achad (one); the shair (gate) of Napathalay (Naphtali), achad (one).

35 “It shall be eighteen alap (thousand) reeds around: and the sham (name) of the iyar (city) from that yawam (day) shall be, ‘Yahawah () is there.’
