Ezekiel 6 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 The dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () came to me, amar (spoke),

2 “Ban (son) of adam (man), shawam (place / establish / appoint) your panayam (face) toward the haray (mountains) of Yashar-Al (Israel), and nabaa (prophesy) to them,

3 And amar (spoke), ‘You haray (mountains) of Yashar-Al (Israel), shamai (hearken / hear) the dabar (word / matter) of the Adanay () Yahawah (): Thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah () to the haray (mountains) and to the gabaiwath (hills), to the watercourses and to the gaayath (valleys): “Behold, I, even I, will bawaa (come) a charab (sword) on you, and I will abad (destroy / perish) your bamah (high) places.

4 Your mazabach (altars) shall become shamam (desolate), and your incense mazabach (altars) shall be shabar (broken); and I will napal (fall / be cast down) down your chalal (slain) men panayam (face) your galawal (idols).

5 I will nathan (give) the pagar (dead) bodies of the banay (my son) of Yashar-Al (Israel) panayam (face) their galawal (idols); and I will zarah (scatter) your itzam (bones) around your mazabach (altars).

6 In all your mawashab (dwelling) places the irayam (cities) shall be charab (laid) waste, and the bamah (high) places shall be yasham (desolate); that your mazabach (altars) may be charab (laid) waste and asham (made) desolate, and your galawal (idols) may be shabar (broken) and shabath (shabath / rest), and your incense chaman (altars) may be gadai (cut) down, and your maishah (works) may be machah (abolished).

7 The chalal (slain) shall napal (fall / be cast down) in the thawak (midst) of you, and you shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah ().

8 “‘“Yet will I yathar (leave) a remnant, in that you shall have some that palayat (escape) the charab (sword) among the gawayam (heathen), when you shall be zarah (scattered) through the aratzawath (countries).

9 Those of you that palayat (escape) shall zakar (remember) me among the gawayam (heathen) where they shall be shabah (carried) captive, how that I have been shabar (broken) with their lewd lab (heart), which has sawar (departed) from me, and with their iyan (eye), which zanah (play) the prostitute achar (other) their galawal (idols): and they shall qawat (loathe) panayam (face) in their own sight for the raiwath (evils) which they ishah (make) committed in all their thawaibah (abominations).

10 They shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah (): I have not dabar (word / matter) in chanam (vain) that I would ishah (make) this rai (evil) to them.”’

11 “Thus amar (spoke) the Adanay () Yahawah (): ‘nakah (strike) with your kap (hand), and raqai (stamp) with your ragal (feet / foot), and amar (spoke), “ach (brother/kinsman)!” Because of all the rai (evil) thawaibawath (abominations) of the bayath (house) of Yashar-Al (Israel); for they shall napal (fall / be cast down) by the charab (sword), by the raib (famine), and by the dabar (word / matter).

12 He who is rachawaq (far) off shall mawath (death) of the dabar (word / matter); and he who is qarawab (near) shall napal (fall / be cast down) by the charab (sword); and he who shaar (remains) and is natzar (besieged) shall mawath (death) by the raib (famine): thus will I kalah (complete / finish) my chamah (wrath) on them.

13 You shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah (), when their chalal (slain) men shall be thawak (midst) their galawal (idols) around their mazabach (altars), on every rawam (will lift up) gabaih (hill), on all the raashay (tops) of the harayam (mountains), and under every rainan (green) itz (tree), and under every ibath (thick) alah (oak / terebinth), the maqawam (place) where they nathan (give) pleasant aroma to all their galawal (idols).

14 I will natah (stretch) out my yad (hand) on them, and nathan (give) the aratz (Earth/land) shamamah (desolate) and waste, from the madabar (wilderness) toward Dabalah (Diblah), throughout all their habitations: and they shall yadai (know) that I am Yahawah ().’”
