Ezra 1 — English–Hebrew Parallel

1 Now in the achad (one) shanah (year) of Kawarash (Cyrus) malak (king) of Paras (Persia), that the dabar (word / matter) of Yahawah () by the pah (mouth) of Yaramayah (Jeremiah) might be kalah (complete / finish), Yahawah () iwar (rouse / awaken) up the rawach (spirit / wind) of Kawarash (Cyrus) malak (king) of Paras (Persia), so that he ibar (pass over/through) a proclamation throughout all his malakawath (kingdom), and put it also in makathab (writing), amar (spoke),

2 “Thus amar (spoke) Kawarash (Cyrus) malak (king) of Paras (Persia), ‘Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens), nathan (give) given me all the mamalakawath (kingdoms) of the aratz (Earth/land); and he paqad (visit) commanded me to banah (build) him a bayath (house) in Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), which is in Yahawadah (Judah).

3 Whoever there is among you of all his im (nation / people), may his Alahayam () be with him, and let him ilah (go up / offer) up to Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), which is in Yahawadah (Judah), and banah (build) the bayath (house) of Yahawah (), the Alahayam () of Yashar-Al (Israel) (he is Alahayam ()), which is in Yarawashalam (Jerusalem).

4 Whoever is shaar (left), in any maqawam (place) where he lives, let the anashay (men) of his maqawam (place) nashaa (lift) him with kasap (silver), with zahab (gold), with rakawash (wealth / property / goods / possessions), and with animals, besides the freewill nadabah (voluntary / freewill offering) for the bayath (house) of Alahayam () which is in Yarawashalam (Jerusalem).’”

5 Then the raashay (heads) of abawath (fathers)’ households of Yahawadah (Judah) and Banayamayan (Benjamin), and the kahanayam (priests), and the Lawayay (Levites), even all whose rawach (spirit / wind) Alahayam () had iwar (rouse / awaken) to ilah (go up / offer) up ilah (go up / offer) up to banah (build) the bayath (house) of Yahawah () which is in Yarawashalam (Jerusalem).

6 All those who were around them chazaq (strengthened) their yad (hand) with kalay (vessels) of kasap (silver), with zahab (gold), with rakawash (wealth / property / goods / possessions), and with animals, and with magadanah (precious) things, besides all that was nadab (willingly) offered.

7 Also Kawarash (Cyrus) the malak (king) yatzaa (go out / come out) forth the kalay (vessels) of the bayath (house) of Yahawah (), which Nabawakadanaatzar (Nebuchadnezzar) yatzaa (go out / come out) brought out of Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), and nathan (give) put in the bayath (house) of his Alahayam ();

8 Even those, Kawarash (Cyrus) malak (king) of Paras (Persia) yatzaa (go out / come out) out by the yad (hand) of Matharadath (Mithredath) the gazabar (treasurer), and sapar (book) them to Shashabatzar (Sheshbazzar), the nashayaa (prince) of Yahawadah (Yahawadah / Judah).

9 This is the masapar (number) of them: shalawashayam (thirty) platters of zahab (gold), one alap (thousand) platters of kasap (silver), isharayam (twenty) - thashai (nine) knives,

10 Shalawashayam (thirty) bowls of zahab (gold), kasap (silver) bowls of a mashanah (second) sort arabai (four) maah (hundred) and ishar (ten), and other kalayam (vessels) one alap (thousand).

11 All the kalayam (vessels) of zahab (gold) and of kasap (silver) were chamash (five) alap (thousand) and arabai (four) maah (hundred). Shashabatzar (Sheshbazzar) ilah (go up / offer) all these up, when the gawalah (captives) were ilah (go up / offer) up from Babal (Babylon) to Yarawashalam (Yarawashalam / Jerusalem).
