Hosea 11 — English–Hebrew Parallel

“When Yashar-Al (Israel) was a nair (child), then I ahab (love) him, and qaraa (called) my ban (son) out of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt).

They qaraa (called) to them, so they halak (move) from them. They zabach (sacrificed) to the Bail (Baals), and qatar (burned) incense to engraved pasalayam (images).

Yet I tharagal (taught) Aparayam (Ephraim) to walk. I laqach (take / seize) them by his zarawai (arms); but they didn't yadai (know) that I rapaa (healed) them.

I mashak (drew) them with chabalay (cords) of a adam (man), with ties of ahabah (love); and I was to them like those who rawam (will lift up) up the il (over) on their necks; and I bent down to him and I akal (eat) him.

“They won't shawab (turn) into the aratz (Earth/land) of Matzarayam (Matzarayam / Egypt); but the Ashawar (Assyrian) will be their malak (king), because they maan (refused) to shawab (turn).

The charab (sword) will chawal (fall) on their iyar (cities), and will kalah (complete / finish) the bad (bars) of their gates, and will put an end to their plans.

My im (nation / people) are determined to mashawabah (turn) from me. Though they qaraa (called) to the Most il (over), he certainly won't rawam (will lift up) them.

“How can I nathan (give) you up, Aparayam (Ephraim)? How can I magan (hand) you over, Yashar-Al (Israel)? How can I nathan (give) you like Adamah (Admah)? How can I nathan (give) you like Tzabaayam (Zeboiim)? My lab (heart) is hapak (turned) within me, my compassion is aroused.

I will not ishah (make) the charawan (fierceness) of my ap (nostril / picture: bull snorting). I will not shawab (turn) to shachath (destroy) Aparayam (Ephraim): for I am Al, and not ayash (man / husband); the qadawash (holy) One in the qarab (among / near) of you; and I will not bawaa (bring) in iyar (wrath).

They will yalak (walk) achar (other) Yahawah (), who will shaag (roar) like a aray (lion); for he will shaag (roar), and the banayam (children) will come charad (trembling) from the yam (sea/waters).

They will come charad (trembling) like a tzapawar (bird) out of Matzarayam (Egypt), and like a yawanah (dove) out of the aratz (Earth/land) of Ashawar (Assyria); and I will yashab (inhabit/dwell) them in their bayath (house),” naam (declares prophetically) Yahawah ().

Aparayam (Ephraim) feeds on wind, and chases the east wind. He continually multiplies kachash (lies) and desolation. They sabab (make) a covenant with Ashawar (Assyria), and oil is sabab (carried) into Matzarayam (Egypt).
