Isaiah 16 — English–Hebrew Parallel

Shalach (send) the kar (lambs) for the mashal (rule/have dominion) of the aratz (Earth/land) from salai (selah) to the madabar (wilderness), to the har (mountain) of the banath (daughter) of Tzayawan (Zion).

For it will be that as nadad (wandering) iwap (flying), as a scattered qan (nest), so will the banawath (daughters) of Mawaab (Moab) be at the maibarath (fords) of the Aranawan (Arnon).

Give itzah (counsel)! Ishah (make) palayalah (justice)! Shayath (put / appoint / make) your tzal (shade) like the layal (night) in the thawak (midst) of the noonday! Sathar (hide) the nadachayam (outcasts)! Don't betray the fugitive!

Let my nadach (outcasts) gawar (dwell) with you! As for Mawaab (Moab), be a sathar (secret / hidden) place for him from the panayam (face) of the shadad (destroyer). For the mawatz (extortioner) is apas (brought) to nothing. Shad (destruction) kalah (complete / finish). The ramas (oppressors) are thamam (consumed) out of the aratz (Earth/land).

A kasaa (throne) will be kawan (established) in loving chasad (grace). One will yashab (inhabit/dwell) on it in amath (truth), in the ahal (tent) of Dawad (David), shapat (judge / judgement), darash (seeking) mashapat (justice), and swift to do tzadaq (righteous / just / fair).

We have shamai (hearken / hear) of the gaawan (pride) of Mawaab (Moab), that he is very gaa (proud); even of his arrogance, his gaawan (pride), and his ibarah (wrath). His boastings are nothing.

Therefore Mawaab (Moab) will wail for Mawaab (Moab). Everyone will wail. You will hagah (mourn) for the raisin cakes of Qayaracharash (Kir Hareseth), utterly nakaa (stricken).

For the shadamawath (fields) of Chashabawan (Heshbon) amal (languish) with the gapan (vine) of Shabam (Sibmah). The bailay (lords) of the gawayam (heathen) have halam (broken) down its choice branches, which nagai (reached) even to Yaizayar (Jazer), which thaih (wandered) into the madabar (wilderness). Its shoots were natash (spread) abroad. They ibar (pass over/through) over the yam (sea/waters).

Therefore I will bakah (weep) with the bakay (weeping) of Yaizayar (Jazer) for the gapan (vine) of Shabam (Sibmah). I will rawah (water) you with my damaih (tears), Chashabawan (Heshbon), and Alailaa (Elealeh): for on your qayatz (summer) fruits and on your qatzayar (harvest) the battle hayadad (shout) napal (fall / be cast down) fallen.

Shamachah (gladness) is asap (taken) away, and gayal (joy) out of the karamal (fruitful) field; and in the karamayam (vineyards) there will be no ranan (singing), neither rawai (joyful) noise. Nobody will darak (tread) out yayan (wine) in the presses. I have made the hayadad (shouting) stop.

Therefore my maih (heart) yahamaw (sounds) like a kanawar (harp) for Mawaab (Moab), and my qarab (among / near) parts for Qayaracharash (Kir Heres).

It will happen that when Mawaab (Moab) raah (see / saw) himself, when he laah (wearies) himself on the bamah (high) place, and bawaa (bring) to his maqadash (sanctuary) to palal (pray), that he will not yakal (prevail).

This is the dabar (word / matter) that Yahawah () dabar (word / matter) concerning Mawaab (Moab) in az (time) past.

But now Yahawah () has dabar (word / matter), amar (spoke), “Within shalawash (three) shanayam (years), as a worker bound by contract would count them, the kabawad (glory) of Mawaab (Moab) shall be brought into contempt, with all his rab (great) hamawan (multitude); and the shaar (remnant) will be very small and feeble.”
