Isaiah 51 — English–Hebrew Parallel

“Shamai (hearken / hear) to me, you who radap (follow) after tzadaq (righteous / just / fair), you who baqash (seek) Yahawah (): nabat (look) to the tzawar (rock) you were chatzab (cut) from, and to the hold of the bawar (pit) you were naqar (dug) from.

Nabat (look) to Abaraham (Abraham - Patriarch) your ab (father), and to Sharah (Sarah) who chawal (bore) you; for when he was but achad (one) I qaraa (called) him, and I barak (blessed) him, and rabah (made) him many.

For Yahawah () has nacham (turn away / repent) Tzayawan (Zion); he has nacham (turn away / repent) all her charabah (waste) places, and has shawam (place / establish / appoint) her madabar (wilderness) like Idan (Eden), and her irabah (desert) like the gan (garden) of Yahawah (); shashawan (joy) and shamachah (gladness) shall be matzaa (found) therein, thanksgiving, and the qawal (sound / voice) of zamarah (melody).

“Qashab (attend) to me, my imayam (people); and azan (ear) ear to me, my laam (nation): for a thawarah (Torah / Instruction) shall yatzaa (go out / come out) forth from me, and I will establish my mashapat (justice) for a awar (light) of the imayam (peoples).

My tzadaq (righteous / just / fair) is qarawab (near), my yashai (salvation) is yatzaa (go out / come out) forth, and my zarawai (arms) shall shapat (judge / judgement) the imayam (peoples); the ayayam (islands) shall qawah (gather/wait) for me, and on my zarawai (arm) shall they yachal (trust).

Nashaa (lift) up your iyan (eye) to the shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens), and nabat (look) on the aratz (Earth/land) beneath; for the shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens) shall malach (vanish) away like ishan (smoke), and the aratz (Earth/land) shall balah (wax) old like a bagad (garment); and those who yashab (inhabit/dwell) therein shall mawath (death) in the same kan (for sure): but my yashawaih (salvation) shall be iwalam (eternity), and my tzadaqah (righteousness) shall not be chathath (abolished).

“Shamai (hearken / hear) to me, you who yadai (know) tzadaq (righteous / just / fair), the im (nation / people) in whose lab (heart) is my thawarah (Torah / Instruction); don't yaraa (fear / be afraid) the charapah (reproach) of anawash (men), neither be chathath (dismayed) at their insults.

For the ish (made) shall akal (eat) them up like a bagad (garment), and the worm shall akal (eat) them like tzamar (wool); but my tzadaqah (righteousness) shall be iwalam (eternity), and my yashawaih (salvation) to all dawarayam (generations).”

Iwar (rouse / awaken), iwar (rouse / awaken), labash (put) on iz (strength / might / refuge), zarawai (arm) of Yahawah (); iwar (rouse / awaken), as in the yamay (days) of iwalam (forever), the darawath (generations) of qadam (ancient) times. Isn't it you who chatzab (cut) Rahab (Rahab) in pieces, who pierced the thanayan (monster)?

Isn't it you who charab (dried) up the yam (sea/waters), the may (waters) of the rab (great) thahawam (depths); who shawam (place / establish / appoint) the maimaqay (depths) of the yam (sea/waters) a darak (way) for the gaal (redeemed) to ibar (pass over/through) over?

The padah (ransomed) of Yahawah () shall shawab (turn back / repent), and bawaa (come) with ranah (singing) to Tzayawan (Zion); and iwalam (forever) shamachah (joy) shall be on their raash (head). They shall obtain shashawan (gladness) and shamachah (joy). Yagawan (sorrow) and anachah (sighing) shall nawas (flee) away.

“I, even I, am he who nacham (turn away / repent) you: who are you, that you are yaraa (fear / be afraid) of anawash (man) who shall mawath (death), and of the ban (son) of adam (man) who shall be nathan (give) as chatzayar (grass);

And have shakach (forgotten) Yahawah () your Maker, who natah (stretched) forth the shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens), and yasad (laid) the foundations of the aratz (Earth/land); and pachad (fear / dread) continually all the yawam (day) panayam (face) of the fury of the oppressor, when he kawan (makes) ready to shachath (destroy)? And where is the fury of the oppressor?

The tzaih (captive) exile shall mahar (speedily) be pathach (freed); and he shall not mawath (death) and go down into the shachath (pit), neither shall his lacham (bread) chasar (fail).

For I am Yahawah () your Alahayam (), who stirs up the yam (sea/waters), so that its gal (waves) hamah (great uproar): Yahawah () of tzabaawath (armies) is his sham (name).

I have shawam (place / establish / appoint) my dabar (word / matter) in your pah (mouth), and have kasah (covered) you in the tzal (shadow) of my yad (hand), that I may natai (plant) the shamayam (Shamayam / Heavens), and yasad (lay) the foundations of the aratz (Earth/land), and amar (said) Tzayawan (Zion), ‘You are my im (nation / people).’”

Iwar (rouse / awaken), iwar (rouse / awaken), qawam (rise up) up, Yarawashalam (Jerusalem), that have shathah (drinks) at the yad (hand) of Yahawah () the kawas (cup) of his chamah (wrath); you have shathah (drinks) the bowl of the kawas (cup) of staggering, and drained it.

There is none to nahal (guide) her among all the banayam (sons) whom she has yalad (birth / begot) forth; neither is there any who chazaq (takes) her by the yad (hand) among all the banayam (sons) who she has gadal (brought) up.

These shanayam (two) things have qaraa (called) to you. Who will nawad (bemoan) you? Shad (desolation) and shabar (destruction), and the raib (famine) and the charab (sword); how shall I nacham (turn away / repent) you?

Your ban (son) have ilap (fainted), they shakab (lie) at the raash (head) of all the chawatzawath (streets), as an antelope in a makamar (net); they are malaa (full) of the chamah (wrath) of Yahawah (), the gairah (rebuke) of your Alahayam ().

Therefore shamai (hearken / hear) now this, you inay (afflicted), and shakar (drunken), but not with yayan (wine):

Thus amar (spoke) your Adawan () Yahawah (), and your Alahayam () who rayab (pleads) the cause of his im (nation / people), “Behold, I have laqach (take / seize) out of your yad (hand) the kawas (cup) of staggering, even the bowl of the kawas (cup) of my chamah (wrath); you shall no more shathah (drinks) it again:

And I will shawam (place / establish / appoint) it into the yad (hand) of those who yagah (afflict) you, who have amar (said) to your napash (soul), ‘shachah (bow) down, that we may walk over you;’ and you have shawam (place / establish / appoint) your gaw (back) as the aratz (Earth/land), and as the chawatz (street), to those who walk over.”
